George Clooney is absolutely fuming after a French magazine papped and printed photos of his newborn children without permission.

George and wife Amal have threatened legal action, after the images of the twins were splashed across the front page of the magazine, entitled Voici.

The images were taken at their villa near Lake Como, Italy.

'Over the last week photographers from Voici magazine scaled our fence, climbed our tree and illegally took pictures of our infants inside our home.'

'Make no mistake the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,' Clooney told People in a statement.

'The safety of our children demands it.'

Many celebrities opt to have their children's faces blurred in paparazzi images to protect their identities, or choose to keep their children out of the public eye entirely.

George and Amal, who have been relatively private about their personal lives, have made it clear that they feel that privacy will assist them in keeping their children safe.

'George is sedated and should recover in a few days,' he joked.

The couple themselves have not commented on the birth, but hopefully we get a peek at the new twis very soon.

Congratulations to the couple!

George and Amal Clooney are adding to their new family! The couple have just adopted a new (adorable) dog named Millie from an animal shelter.

The Oscar-winning actor and his human rights lawyer wife stopped by the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society this week and took home a four-year-old basset hound called Millie.

According to the shelter's website, Millie was brought in after she was found digging for food outside a restaurant earlier this month.

She landed on the Clooney's radar when they saw her on Petfinder, an app that lets you browse through hundreds of animals, so you can find the perfect one for your family.

"They took the time to get to know her and vice versa," shelter spokesperson Lynn Collman told the Huffington Post of the couple's first meet-and-greet with Millie.

George and Amal also brought their cocker spaniel, Louie, along to make the decision.

"[They were] making sure she was a good fit for their other rescue dog, and would be a good family member," Lynn told the website.

The visit clearly went well, as the shelter posted on Facebook congratulating the happy new family. #CutenessOverload

Amal Clooney is a renowned human rights lawyer and pretty much an all-round inspiration for many young women around the world.

This week she shared some of her legal wisdom with one lucky law student from Galway.

Loughrea native Catrina Chahin was lucky enough to meet her idol at the September session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The 23-year old has just finished her masters in International Human Rights Law at NUIG.

Amal was on hand to give a talk on fair trial rights and issues surround judicial accountability.

Catrina said that she had a chance to witness first-hand how Amal takes the time to speak with young lawyers about their goals. She told UTV Ireland:

“I was asking her how to best go about practicing law in the international sphere and she was just saying to be determined and don't be deterred by statistics which obviously make it seem very difficult.”

Catriona wants to go on and practice law internationally and was looking for some guidance. Amal told her not to be deterred by the statistics which make it seem so difficult.

"She recommend that I qualify as a lawyer, solicitor or barrister, while I'm still in the academic mind-set basically and then I can always go back to working for NGOs.”

While it may seem that Amal, who specialises in public international law, international law and human rights was someone who had her sights set on success from a young age, Catriona says it was the opposite.

“She told me that when she finished university she never had a 10 year plan and that you never know what opportunities will arise.”
