If you’re anyway familiar with current YouTube trends, you’ll have heard of Paul Logan by now.

The former Disney TV actor boasts over 15 million followers on his channel, which focuses on vlogs, challenges and titles such as ‘MY ASSISTANT GOT PREGNANT IN MY HOUSE’ and ‘MY NEW $3,000,000 WATCH.’

The YouTuber has found fame with his young following, but has received major criticism for his most recent video.

A post shared by Logan Paul (@loganpaul) on

The internet celebrity is currently uploading vlogs and videos from a trip to Japan.

In one video, the YouTuber visits Aokigahara, also known as the suicide forest due to the high number of suicides that occur there.

While there, Paul and his posse of friends discover the body of an individual who has taken their own life.

A post shared by Logan Paul (@loganpaul) on

Paul filmed the deceased individual and uploaded the content to his channel, where it was viewed by his 15 million strong audience.

The video caused shock waves due to its graphic and insensitive content and Logan is under fire for the upload.

He has since apologised for his misguided actions, saying: ‘Let's start with this—I'm sorry.’

‘I've never faced criticism like this before, because I've never made a mistake like this before.’

‘I'm surrounded by good people and believe I make good decisions, but I'm still a human being. I can be wrong.’

‘I didn't do it for views. I get views. I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the Internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity.’

‘I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention…I'm often reminded of how big of a reach I truly have and with great power comes great responsibility.’

'For the first time in my life I'm regretful to say I handled that power incorrectly. It won't happen again,’ he finished.

While Paul did include a number of suicide prevention contact details in the video, the entire situation was perceived as insensitive and disrespectful.

His apology was met by scepticism from many.

'How is filming someone’s death a “mistake” then you post it on YouTube? That was not a mistake,' said one Twitter user.

'You CHOSE to do it and you should have known the consequences so now you can face them.'

The video has since been removed, but versions of it and videos criticising its content are still available.

The number of deaths on Irish roads in 2017 is the lowest figure ever recorded since road fatalities were first officially documented in 1959.

The Road Safety Authority statistics for 2017 show a 15pc drop in road deaths when compared to 2016.

However, 158 people did lose their lives on Ireland's roads last year.

186 lives were lost in 2016

‘While it is heartening to see that 2017 was the lowest year on record for road deaths, this is not good enough,’ Minister for Transport Shane Ross told RTE.

‘We need to continue our efforts if we are to achieve the objective of reducing fatalities to 124 by 2020.’

‘Ultimately our aim should be zero deaths on our roads.’

As the entire country prepares to ease back into work after the Christmas holidays, it seems the Irish weather has a different idea.

The mild but chilly weather has made way for a status orange weather alert courtesy of Storm Eleanor.

The orange alert is in place for Leinster, Munster and Galway, with a status yellow alert for the rest of the country.

The storm will be responsible for 130km/ph winds which began battering the country this morning.

'Southwest to west winds of mean speeds 65 to 80 km/h, gusting to 110 to 130 km/h are expected' say Met Eireann.

A wind warning is in place for Dublin, Galway, Clare, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Limerick and Tipperary.

The storm is set to move off into the Atlantic later this afternoon, but conditions will remain stormy until 9pm tonight when the weather warning is due to be lifted.

It's very likely that for the first time in over a week, you will need to set your alarm clock tonight.

And that, we know, is utterly traumatising.

After approximately 10 days of lie-ins, boxset-binges, late lunches, mammoth dinners and countless glasses of vino, you have to go back to the real world.

Love or loathe your current job, the adjustment will take some getting used to, so why not make it easier on yourself by considering the following points in order to ensure a stress-free week ahead. (And praise Jesus it's only a four-day'er.)

1. Prep your outfit

Stop whatever it is you're doing right now, and prepare your clothes for the morning.

It'll take the guts of 20 minutes to iron an outfit and prep some accessories, but it'll be the most productive 20 minutes you can spend today, frankly.

Just picture how much easier tomorrow morning will be if you put a little time and consideration into the task without the pressure of a looming rush-hour commute.

2. Check your emails

OK, so some might argue that this action will eat into your holiday-time, but if you can face a quick inbox blitz, it will make the first hour back in the office a whole lot simpler.

Deleting and starring over the course of just 10 minutes will make trawling your correspondence tomorrow a little less stressful.

We're not going to lie, it will require a deep breath, but just remind yourself you're simply doing a digital spring clean and anything pressing can wait until the morning.

3. Set some goals

No one expects you to move mountains in your first week back to work after Christmas, but setting a few simple goals will help to alleviate The Fear.

Whether it's as simple as replying to that email you ignored during Christmas week, de-cluttering your desk by the end of your first day back or scheduling a chat with your boss about upcoming projects, giving yourself some milestones will really help you to focus.

And remember; don't overwhelm yourself by making goals that are simply unattainable by the end of week; small, but achievable goals are the name of the game here.

4. Go for a brisk walk

The night before you return to work often causes anxiety which means you may not be able to properly shut off and enjoy a solid eight-hour sleep.

With this in mind, it's important you get some fresh air by taking a brisk walk before winding down for the night.

We know you're very likely hungover, exhausted or a combination of both. but grab a friend, a family member or download the latest episode of your favourite podcast, and hit the pavement for 30 minutes.

It'll only help, we promise.

5. Pamper yourself

Look, it's not easy returning to work after a fortnight of excess, and Lord knows you're probably not feeling in tip-top condition, so make sure you treat yourself during your final hours of the Christmas holiday.

Root out any pampering products you found in your stocking, pull on your cosiest pyjamas and settle down with the book you found beneath the tree because finding the time to relax is absolutely paramount.

You've prepped for the morning, you've gotten a head-start on your emails and you've even fitted in a little exercise, so now it's time to indulge yourself before smashing your weekly goals.

Ladies, you've got this.

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the very first day of 2018.

While you may be full of good intentions for the upcoming 12 months, it's more likely that right now you are full of gin, left over Supermacs and regret.

Here's how mornings began across the country today:

8. 'Whoever decided that daylight was a good idea needs to reconsider.'

You have finally risen to consciousness from a drunken slumber and are taking record of your surroundings.

You slowly start to feel the painful blisters on your ankles from walking home due to there being approximately zero taxis in all of Ireland, and the first twinges of dehydration stir.

And then the headache begins to pound.

7. Did I actually…?'

Whether you had an epic night or a (more likely) disappointing New Year's Eve, there's sure to be something that went down that you still cant belive.

Whether it was an unexpected midnight kiss or the walking home, own it.

6. 'WATER.'

Self-explanatory, really.

Time for a rehydration session. And fingers crossed it stays down and the gin hasn't scoured the stomach off you.

5. 'I spent HOW MUCH?'

Your purse is filled with crumpled evidence of rounds you bought for people you might not see again until this time next year.

Your online banking app is calling you, but the brief flash back of waving your card around in the direction of a barman is enough to keep you away from that app for a good while yet.

At least until you have your strength back.

4. 'Carbs would be good right now.'

While you may be outraged at the cost of the booze you bought last night, there's always room on the old credit card for a quick takeaway.

Browsing Just Eat is an absolute essential on a hangover day.

The diet and exercise routine can wait until tomorrow (or forever tbh).

3. 'The mother will never forgive me for desecrating the holy day of Sunday with my antics.'

You've surpassed the fear and checked you and your pal's Insta and Snapchat stories, and a flurry of 'be sound and delete that' DMs have been dispatched.

Now you can only lie there and thank your lucky stars that your parental units don't have the hang of Snapchat.

No one needs to see their 20-something-year-old three sheets to the wind singing Little Mix songs in a taxi.

2. 'Is she for real?'

While you might be stuck somewhere between blanket wrapped bundle of regret and tequila-induced downward shame spiraler, the ladies of Instagram are on a mission.

Already you've seen all the fitness influencer's posts about 'starting the year right' (who would be doing those yoga poses on a cliff top on a morning like this?)

Any bets they pre-shot those photos and they're' actually also hiding under a blanket somewhere cursing the existence of white spirits?

1. 'I'm never drinking again. And I'm going vegan, joining the gym, participating in activism and deleting my ex's number'

It's easy to get bogged down with thoughts of fulfilling your resolutions as soon as the year kicks off, but give yourself a break.

You have 12 months to achieve the goals you get for yourself, and this blustery Monday is just a blip on the radar.

Wrap up in that duvet, throw on a season of Friends and laze your way through the glorious Bank Holiday.
