The Rolling Stones

by

More than a decade since the release of their last album, A Bigger Bang, one of the industry's biggest bands have announced that they're releasing a new album.

That's right, ladies – The Rolling Stones have today confirmed that Blue and Lonesome will hit shelves in December of this year.

The band are understandably pumped about the album of blues covers which was recorded over just three days earlier this year.

Speaking at the time of recording, Keith Richards said: "They sound so authentic it's frightening. We didn't spend any time rehearsing them or anything."

"We just picked a song that suited Mick's harmonica or a guitar riff… and they worked out pretty good. It was like, 'this is what the Stones do, we play blues."

And if you can't wait until December to get the ball rolling, make sure you have your head in the game tomorrow for the pre-order kick-off.

Oh, and for those of you who do decide to pre-order, there'll be a brand new song in it for you… and immediately too.

We're used to him being the frontman of One Direction, but now Harry Styles might be taking on the role of a greater singer.

Yep, Harry is rumoured to play Mick Jagger in a new biopic about The Rolling Stones, according to The Line of Best Fit.

The film, which is being directed by Andy Goddard from Downton Abbey is said to be titled Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones.

According to Deadline, the new flick is based off a book by Robert Greenfield which follows the band as they recorded their album Exile on Main Street.

This won't be the first cinema work for Harry though, as he's set to star alongside Tom Hardy in Dunkirk, which is set to debut in 2017.

As for the new movie, there's no word yet on other cast members or when it will start filming, but if Harry Styles is in it, it's bound to get great views in the cinema.

The Rolling Stones opened their first ever international exhibition, EXHIBITIONISM, and it certainly went down with a bang on Monday.

Opening in London, the night was promised to be out-of-this-world kind of amazing, and to make it all better, they mixed rock'n'roll with Tommy Hilfiger's fashion – and it doesn't get much better than that.

The Rolling Stones all came together again with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts all taking part.

The group said: “In curating EXHIBITIONISM we opened our archives and looked back through all our best artefacts and memorabilia – it reminded us of what an incredible journey we’ve had.”

Tommy joined on as the exhibition's official apparel sponsor and designed a limited capsule collection of graphic tees and custom jackets which display the band's iconic tongue logo. How slick.

“It’s been an amazing journey working with the Rolling Stones since we first sponsored their tour in 1999, and it’s an honour to be here in London with them to support EXHIBITIONISM as the exhibit’s official apparel sponsor,” said Tommy on the night.

“Music has always been one of my biggest sources of inspiration, and EXHIBITIONISM is an incredible retrospective of one of the greatest rock bands of all time.”

The exclusive clothing will launch on Tommy.com in the next few weeks.
