Topshop

A year ago a partnership between Beyonce and Topshop was announced, and we all got a bit excited.

Today it has been confirmed that the joint sports and streetwear venture will launch in April 2016.

Queen B and the high street giant have created Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd. The label is set to produce clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports categories, with collections aiming to be stylish and functional, offering technical performance.

According to WWD, the label for:

“Women who go to yoga or the health club, as well as those who just want to look as if they do”.

YES!

This is Topshop’s first shared venture into the athleisure world, and Beyonce’s first partnership with the label. It is not her first venture into fashion however, Bey already owns a clothing brand called House of Deron.

Sir Philip Green said about the partnership: "We have been looking at this category as fashion inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers' heartland.

"Creating a partnership with Beyoncé, one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is a unique opportunity to develop this category."

The range will reportedly be sold in 20 counties and the venture will be part of the Arcadia group, which also owns Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge chains.

It might just a little bit early to say it- but we really cannot wait for 2016!

It's perhaps the most divisive fashion trend of the season – the slip dress.

Wearing lingerie as outerwear has definitely emerged in fashion as a totally appropriate way to dress yourself (and we have all definitely been tempted by a lace bralet or two), but the satin slip dress leaves very little to the imagination.

So how do you strike the perfect balance between night time chic and a good night's sleep?

Here's how to get it right.

1. Find the perfect fit

We all know that the slip dress is supposed to be slinky, but you want it to skim your curves, not cling to them in the wrong places.

Focus on finding a slip that fits well around the bust and that you feel comfortable in. Too big and you will be swamped, too small and you will definitely be susceptible to a nip slip.

2. Choose the right outerwear

Did we mention that Rihanna lives for a slip dress? From backless gold numbers to slinky floor length pieces, she can't get enough.

Amp up the glamour by adding a boyfriend blazer, a sequined crop jacket or if you are feeling particularly brave, throw on your best fur coat.

3. All about the shine

Play up the satin quality of your slip dress by choosing a metallic gold, silver or bronze tone.

4. Accessorise

If you feel a slip dress would make you look tent like rather than the goddess that you are, try out a belt to cinch the waist.

Team your dress with a pair of strappy stilettos and some decadent jewellery to really add a touch of glamour.

5. Confidence, confidence, confidence

If you are pulling off that slip dress like it's no ones business, then we commend you because this is definitely not the easiest trend of the season. Hold your head high and work it, girl.

Find the perfect slip dress for you…

The Seventies is officially the decade of 2015. Apart from the onslaught of flared trousers, suede and paisley, the most covetable wardrobe items of season tend to come with a little bit of fringing.

Whether the fringe is on your boots, your bag, your skirt or your jacket, it doesn’t matter once it’s on you (though perhaps not all at once).

But how can you make sure you get fringe right without looking like you just walked off the set of Back To The Future 3? Well, we got you covered, babes.

1) The Fringed Jacket

New Look Faux Leather Tassel Jacket, €44.99
Penneys Faux Suede Fringe Jacket, €30

Ah, the fringed short jacket. This is the perfect way to finish off a stylish, casual look.

Whether thrown over a pair of distressed jeans like the lovely Cheryl or used to punk up a daytime skater dress, you simply need one in your wardrobe.

2) The Fringed Bag

Penneys Tassel Backpack, €40
Topshop Leather Fringe Suede Clutch, €42

Use a fringed bag to add some messy texture to an outfit or make like the lovely Olivia and use it to pick up on the fringed detailing in your outfit.

While a fringe skirt, jacket AND bag may be a step to far, a small clutch mag is the ideal accompaniment to your fringe statement piece.

3) The Fringed Heel

River Island Tan Suede Fringe Boots, €105
New Look Burgundy Fringed Heel Sandals, €44.99

The delectable fringe heel has been doing the rounds for a few months now since hitting the high street stores and we are definitely not over it yet.

Use your fringey footwear to add instant fashion kudos to any outfit, day to night.

4) The Fringed Skirt

Topshop Fringed Suedette Skirt by Glamourous, on sale €16
La Redoute Fringe Mini Skirt, €25.99, laredoute.com

From the fringe-ified mini to the elongated fringed skirt, there is countless options when it comes to dressing your bottom half.

Pair a fringe mini with a slouchy tee and trainers for effortless daytime cool or go for a cropped bralet and strappy heels for nighttime magic.

5) The Fringed Dress

Miss Selfridge Tassel Dress, €200
M&S Black Fringe Dress by Twiggy, €80

One way to really make a statement at the office Christmas party is to invest in the perfect fringe dress.

Not only will you look striking from the moment you enter, there is endless fun to be had from twirling your fringe around a dancefloor.

Former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos made her return to the red carpet at the 2015 Attitude Awards.

Putting her finest fashion foot forward Tulisa, who recently made headlines after crashing her Ferrari and getting arrested, turned plenty of heads in London.

The bash, which Sir Ian McKellan and Frankie Bridge also attended was held at London’s Banqueting House.

Keeping up the glam vibe at the event, Tulisa debuted a navy-blue velour pants suit.

The blue two-piece ensemble was from Topshop and the whole look including the shoes (also Topshop) cost €250. A red carpet bargain.

Considering Tulisa has often donned some more pricey pieces, the tailored cigarette pants and super-plunging blazer are pretty affordable in comparison.

Several years ago audiences were treated to some of Tulisa’s more expensive style moments as she and Nicole Scherzinger were the X Factor judges worth watching every week.

Tulisa was more likely to be seen sporting designer dresses and full-length sequined gowns as she and the former Pussycat Doll went head to head in the style stakes.

Topshop has long been a favourite of those on the fashion scene, but it is definitely more affordable than the couture frocks she was favouring in the past.

She kept her makeup for the evening simple with a dark smoky eye, a dusty pink lip and what looks like some skilled contouring.

Nick Grimshaw has certainly been making headlines since being announced as a judge on the forthcoming, newly revamped series of The X Factor.

And now it seems he will also be adding designer to his growing CV: it has emerged that Topman has enlisted the radio DJ's talents for a new capsule collection.

The 30-year-old, who is thus following in the footsteps of his supermodel BFF Kate Moss, let the exciting news slip on Instagram.

Nick posted a picture of a black suede and fringed jacket with a tag attached that read: Nick Grimshaw X Topman. He also included the caption "coming soon".

This isn't the first time Nick has delved into the fashion world, as he is an official ambassador for London Collections: Men along with model David Gandy and musician Tinie Tempah.

Mr Grimshaw has certainly been busy recently; he was spotted in Ibiza just last week along with fellow X Factor judge Rita Ora, as well as Ms Moss. It is believed he was on the Spanish party island working with BBC Radio 1 as part of the Ibiza 2015 festival.

He and Rita have just finished filming the audition stages of the reality TV show singing contest, and evidently took the opportunity to have a spot of down-time in the sun.

We can't wait to see the rest of his Topshop collection, and reckon Nick might even wear a few of the pieces himself once the X Factor live finals kick off.

It's not often that retail giants take the feedback of individual customers on board, so we were delighted to hear that Topshop had done just that this week.

Customer Laura Berry issued a complaint via Facebook after seeing a mannequin in her local branch of the clothing store that she felt was a "ridiculous" representation of a normal woman.

"[H]aving been paid yesterday, I decided to spoil myself by purchasing a new pair of my favourite Jamie jeans. However, I was stopped in my tracks by the mannequin in the picture I've shared with this post," she wrote on Topshop's official page earlier this week.

"I'd love to hear how you can justify the ridiculously tiny mannequin in your Bristol Cribbs Causeway store? We come in all shapes and sizes… this mannequin is quite frankly ridiculously shaped. Young women aspire to the somewhat cult image your store offers. Which I'm sure you're aware by your sales figures and hashtags on Instagram. Yet not one mannequin in your store showed anything bigger than a size 6," she added.

Clearly realising that the anger and frustration expressed by Laura was a sign of a bigger problem, Topshop responded within 24 hours to say they would no longer be using the offending mannequins in stores. A response posted as a comment to Laura's original post read, "We have taken yours and other customers’ opinions and feedback on board and going forward we are not placing any further orders on this style of mannequin."

In defence of the mannequin the store said the style was "based on a standard UK size 10" although "the overall height (187cm) is taller than the average girl and the form is stylised to have more impact in store."

Earlier this year a similar image went viral after a size 8/10 woman posed next to a "standard" Topshop mannequin and posted the results on Twitter:

Hopefully Topshop take this incident as motivation to start promoting a healthier body image in stores.

In what has to be the most hotly anticipated fashion launch of the year, the world has finally been given a first look at Kendall and Kylie Jenner's Topshop collaboration.

The capsule summer line will hit stores on June 3rd, but you can already browse the full range of pieces online.

Although it's unclear whether the line will be stocked in Irish branches, it will certainly be available via Topshop's UK and US sites. The prices so far are reasonable, ranging from €40 to €130 based on the exchange rate with the US dollar.

It looks like the girls worked hard to ensure their own personal style was at the centre of the Kendall + Kylie line, and that decision is reflected in the relaxed yet chic feel running through the collection.

And who better to model the pieces than the superstar sisters themselves?

Rumours of a Topshop collaboration began circulating earlier this year, but the launch date was confirmed for the first time last week via social media.

Given that Kendall and Kylie have over 50 million Instagram followers between them and have been teasing news of the new clothing range over the last few weeks, Topshop must be saving a big chunk of money on promotional costs.

We are loving the mix off relaxed summer pieces and more formal looks on offer in the new collection, like this incredible backless jumpsuit, below on the right:

Floral Dress (€77), White Duster Coat (Price TBC), Printed Jumpsuit (€77)

As for more casual looks, this floral tie top is certain to be a sellout for festival season:

Vacation Sweater (€49), Floral Tie Top (€49)

Speaking about the design process, the sister said they chose pieces that would work well in their own closets.

"We very much wanted to capture the essence of our own lifestyles and create pieces that would fit perfectly into our wardrobes," the pair said in a statement.

We cannot WAIT to get our hands on some of these looks…

Kylie and Kendall Jenner have given fans an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at their recent shoot for PacSun.

Shot on location at the opulent Pasadena Princess estate in Beverly Hills back in March, props used include plastic flamingos, topiary animals, crochet sets, tennis rackets, and roller-skates, not to mention giant white poodles.

And they’ve released a seriously funky video from the shoot too: it was put together by Cameron Duddy, the 30-year-old responsible for the likes of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk, Bruno Mars’s Locked Out Of Heaven, and Britney Spears’s recent Pretty Girls.

The Dreams In The Dunes collection, which has been driven by Kylie, 17, and Kendall, 19, themselves, is released online by PacSun tomorrow.

It includes plenty of statement fringe, lace detailing, dark denim and gorgeous matching two-piece sets.

The sisters already have a festival-inspired collection with PacSun, with tops coming in around €30, denim shorts at €50, and simple dresses and rompers priced at €40.

Later this year, the Jenner girls furthermore release a clothing line exclusively at Topshop.

Kylie Jenner has a lot going on for someone who's not even out of their teens yet. Her own hair extensions line, a clothing range with Pacsun, a €2.7m house to renovate, and of course her family's reality show.

Now though, it looks as if Kylie and her older sister Kendall might have yet another project up their sleeves, if this new Instagram post is anything to go by.

The reality star posted a picture last night showing herself and Kendall working on what looks to be a new line of clothing, but she refused to divulge any other details. In the two Polaroid snaps, the sisters can be seen looking at mood boards and design suggestions for an unnamed brand.

A photo posted by Kylizzle (@kyliejenner) on

The photo was captioned, "designing. I've never been more excited for what's to come! Stay tuned this summer."

It's unclear whether the designs are for the girls' existing Pacsun range, for their summer 2015 Topshop collaboration or for something else entirely. Whatever they are, we are VERY excited indeed.

While Kylie and Kendall definitely have a proven interest in fashion, some commenters were quick to point out that clothes design is not all about gazing at mood boards.

"I never knew how easy designing was! Just looking at pictures and picking out your favourite ones!" wrote one follower, with another adding, "This isn't designing lol. You know damn well you're just looking at pics of other ppl's designs and choosing what you like best and you're gonna slap your name on it."

Haters gonna hate…

The beautiful Hailey Baldwin has been revealed as the new face of Topshop Jeans.

The model, whose best friends, Kendall and Kylie Jenner announced their own Topshop collaboration, only last week, stars in a new advert for the jeans.

Topshops’s Creative Director Kate Phelan had only great things to say about the rising star and her new campaign for the clothing giant: “The Topshop denim collection is perfect for Hailey. She has an energy and vitality that shows the collection of jeans and the different moods and personalities; the sexy Leigh, the tomboy Mom and the fashion girls favourite Baxter. Hailey is all these girls; she is street smart, stylish and most importantly individual.”

We agree, she is definitely selling those jeans!
