Strictly Come Dancing

Over the last couple of weeks, rumours around Joe and Dianne being a couple were swirling.

The looks of love were hard to hide between the dancing duo, and the public LOVED the idea of them being together.

Although they didn't claim the top spot – they did take most of the attention after the Strictly final.

Somewhat overshadowing the winners, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton was confirmation that Joe and Dianne were, in fact, a couple.

To the nation's delight, our underdog hadn't walked away from the competition empty-handed.

He mightn't have claimed the trophy but Joe did find love.

But could he have waited at least a week to give everyone the much-needed nod that they had fallen for each other? – Yes.

It would have given Stacey her time to truly shine and full attention would have remained on her.

Don't get me wrong, I am delighted that Joe and Dianne are a couple.

They look so natural around each other that it was almost expected by 90 percent of the audience.

Just the timing of the announcement could have been made public down the line.

Joe took to Instagram and posted a sweet picture of the pair, confirming their romance.

He adorably wrote: "I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special."

I must admit that he's an actual dote and they're a lovely couple.

Just in hindsight they might regret confirming their news so soon after Stacey's win.

But the TV personality recently realised he’s had the most effect on the younger generation.

Joe has inspired young boys everywhere to pursue their passion of dance despite pressures from their peers.

“When I was younger at school, we didn’t do dance. If you were a boy you didn’t do dance, it wasn’t an option.

“Well, it was an option, but you did sport or…just not dance. But I’ve had so many messages from younger guys going: ‘I would never normally think about doing dance but doing Strictly I can see you having so much fun.’

He might not be on the judging panel anymore but that hasn't stopped him from wading into the scandals of Strictly.

Len Goodman has spoken out about the now infamous kiss between comedian Seann Walshe and his pro dance partner Katya Jones – that happened while the two were both in relationships

While Seann was dumped by his girlfriend, Katya and her husband, fellow pro dancer Neil Jones, seem to be going strong.

Now the former Head judge has said that he wasn't a fan of what happened but that it does keep people interested in the show.

He told The Metro, ''I think the producers like all that. I think they probably…not saying they encourage it but I think they like it if it happens,''

He continued, ''If they’re both single then I think it doesn't matter. Not so much if one is married and it all splits up the happy home. I don’t like that at all.''

He added, ''But there’s been like Flavia Cacace and Jimi Mistry, they got married and they’re still married. And they were both single. So what’s wrong with that. Good, good for them. And everyone loves a love story. I think most years there’s been some sort of, 'Oooh what’s going on there?'''

The comedian in a long-term relationship with a woman who spent the weekends he was on the BBC show crying in the audience in support of him.

Then it transpired that Seann and his pro dance partner Katya had had a drunken kiss that was caught on camera by photographers – on his girlfriends birthday.

We all know what happened next – public apologies, a public dumping for Seann and him getting the boot from the competition a couple of weeks later.

Now, Seann has addressed the whole situation with his at a gig at London’s Comedy Store.

The 32-year-old said that doesn't think he needs to explain himself – and reportedly got a lot of boos from the audience.

He said, ''I will tell you this and we will stop talking about it. But look, I don’t really need to explain myself but I will anyway.''

He continued, ''I was coming towards the end of my relationship, I was getting on with this girl. You spend a lot of time with your dance partner on the show and we went for a drink and one thing led to the other.''

He added, ''Most of you have seen the result. I actually started to think to myself, “Hang on, have I actually done anything that wrong?”

Seann had been banned from the Strictly live tour, with reports for the show saying that, ''The Strictly tour is a really wholesome, family-friendly event. It’s all about good, clean fun and we don’t think that a man who snogs married women in the street fits that image.”

He said, ''I don’t think I should have to define it.''

It seems that the question of his sexuality began at a young age when he started dancing.

He continued, “From the age of 12 when I decided to dance in high school, everyone was saying, ‘Oh, you’re a dancer’, and there was that kind of stigma about it.''

“But I try not to think about it. I just live my life – but the support from the gay community is always fantastic.”

AJ is a big fan of the gay community, who he thinks are always great people to be around.

He said, ''I love being around gay people, going to gay clubs. Obviously in this industry there happens to be more gay people, so it just seems to work perfectly."

It's a shame that he felt the need to address these rumours about his personal life but we think he handled them perfectly.
