Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Clifton (née Hauer) has broken her silence about her ex-husband's relationship with Stacey Dooley.

Karen and Kevin split up in March of last year, but have remained on good terms ever since. The pair even work alongside one another as professional dancers on the BBC One show.

Karen opened up during an interview with FUBAR Radio about Kevin and Stacey's romance after the pair won the series in 2018.

"I don’t really know anything about that," she said of their relationship. "When we go into rehearsals we’re literally going crazy with all the routines. But you know what he looks extremely happy, so I’m happy that he’s happy."

Speaking about working with her ex, she said; "Most people think that we’d be like 'oh I don’t like it', but no. Not at all. We laugh. There is no drama. I don’t like drama baby llama! I’m happy, he’s happy, let’s all be happy!

"I’m so proud of him and all the things he’s been doing lately. For us, it’s never been a problem and it never will be a problem. We’re really cool."

The dancer added;

"We absolutely love working together. We’re dancing together. The nice thing is that we don’t have partners that we are dancing with all the time, we switch partners around, so we all get a feel for everybody else."

32-year-old Stacey Dooley was dating Sam Tucknott throughout the 2018 competition, but the pair broke up shortly after she won. The journalist then began seeing her professional dance partner, Kevin.

Kevin Clifton and Karen wed in 2015, but she hasn't publicly commented on her ex's new romance until this week.

Stacey's ex-boyfriend, Sam, told The Sun Online that he accused Kevin of being a "rat" and a "snake" in a FaceTime video call after discovering he had been dating his ex.

He blames Kevin for his break-up with girlfriend-of-five-years Stacey, who he said he was planning to propose to.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.

They might just be the dark horses of the competition.

And Chares Venn and his pro dance partner Karen Clifton know that they're chances for taking the Glitterball trophy are within their reach.

So what will they do if they are victorious?

The pair have revealed that they will get something permanent to mark the occasion – a tattoo, of course.

Karen said that, ''If we get to the final, we’re both getting a tattoo. We’re both getting “S.”‘

And what does that stand for?

She reveals, ''Strictly, six pack and success'' to which Charles agrees, ''Done deal.''

The Casualty actor has found himself in the dance-off three times but has not only survived each but gone on to thrive on the dance floor.

And what about his ever-growing status as a sex symbol?

He says, ''You know what? If at 45 I can still get those kind of compliments I will take that, I will embrace them all because at some point people are going to be looking to the youn’uns.''

The pair wowed the judges with an emotional rhumba on Saturday night's show to Maria from West Side Story, earning them 35 points.

As fans come to terms with Will Young’s shock Strictly departure, reports are emerging which suggest that the singer may have grown “fed up” of his dance partner, Karen Clifton.

According to The Mirror, the Leave Right Now performer was struggling to deal with the workload placed on him by the dancer in the run-up to him quitting the show for “personal reasons”.

A source told the paper that the 37-year-old did not like being consistently scrutinised and as a result had “squabbled” with Karen last week during rehearsals for the show.

“Karen was just doing her job, she was training him hard but in the end he just didn’t want to keep getting told off and corrected all the time,” they said.

“It infuriated him. They squabbled a few times during rehearsals and it left him feeling exhausted. He just found the whole process too taxing and didn't think it was worth such a huge effort.”

However, the source’s claims run contrary to a statement released by the star himself on Tuesday.

When announcing he would be leaving the hit series, Will said: “I have found a creative partnership with Karen that has been the most wonderful thing to experience.”

“I will be eternally grateful to her for her direction, talent and guiding me through three wonderful dances that I will be able to show my grandkids in years to come.”
