It looks like Niall Horan could be set to return to Irish shores after reports suggest the former One Direction star has bought a house on a 10-acre site just outside his home town of Mullingar.

According to The Sunday Times, the six-bedroom house was originally put on the market for €1.6 million in 2011, however the asking price was slashed to €565,000 last year.

The lavish home boasts six reception rooms, six bedrooms, a games room and an outdoor swimming pool (though we're not sure how much use he'll get out of that in the Irish weather).

It's not clear whether or not the 23-year-old will make Mullingar his permanent home once again, as he already has property in Los Angeles and London.

Meanwhile, the Slow Hands singer will kick off his first solo tour at Dublin's Olympia Theatre next week and his debut album is expected to drop later this year.

He recently announced the support acts for the shows which include Gavin James, Picture This and Dublin band, Wild Youth.

Later this month, our very own Niall Horan will embark on his first ever solo world tour – and he's bringing some local talent along for the ride.

The Slow Hands singer took to Twitter earlier today announce the support acts for his upcoming Flicker Sessions tour, adding that he wanted to make it “as Irish as possible.”

The Dublin-based Wild Youth will join Niall for his opening show in Dublin's Olympia theatre, while Kildare duo, Picture This, will join the former One Direction member in London and Stockholm.

And as if that wasn't enough, the super-talented Gavin James will support Niall in the US and Toronto.

Many fans were left disappointed after tickets for the Flicker Sessions tour sold out in minutes, and to be honest, we reckon this latest announcement will just rub salt in the wound.

So, One Direction may have gone their seperate ways, but unlike the classic boyband splits that came before them, there's no bad blood between the lads (well, for the most part).

During a recent interview on Australian radio station Nova 100, Niall Horan gushed over fomer band mate, Louis Tomlinson, and even credited him with saving One Direction, insisting that they would have 'lost the plot' without him in the band.

"He's an unbelievable guy, a great singer and someone that, if, I'd say, we would have lost the plot along the way if we hadn't had Louis," he told the host.

"He was a very, very, very extremely vital member of One Direction. He's a great man."

His comments come after Louis spoke about how he struggled to find his place in the band.

Speaking to The Observer, Louis opened up about feeling insecure and walking in the shadows of the other band members.

"The others have always been… Like Niall, for example. He's the most lovely guy in the world. Happy-go-lucky Irish, no sense of arrogance. And he's fearless. There are times I've thought, 'I'd have a bit of that," he said.

"Zayn, back in the day. He could relate to me on a nerves level. Liam always had a good stage presence, same as Harry… Then there's me."

Louis recently sent fans inot a frenzy when he announced his new single Back to You, and he is also said to be working on putting togther a new girlband with former maganger, Simon Cowell.

With a statue dedicated to the late great Joe Dolan in Mullingar town centre, it wasn't going to be long before the residents of the Westmeath town started making noise about honouring Niall Horan in a similar fashion.

According to The Irish Independent, Mullingar locals are calling for a street to be named after the former One Direction star.

Focussing their attention on Meeting House Lane – a pedestrian alleyway between Oliver Plunkett Street and Blackhall Street – locals have requested the area undergo a name change, and it sounds like local authorities may be on board.

"If we were to name a street after him, it couldn’t happen to a better man," said Councillor Willie Penrose.

"Niall is associated with a lot of people in Mullingar. No matter where you go in the world you should never forget where you come from."

Acknowledging the Slow Hands singer's pride in his native town, Willie continued: "Niall is a very level headed young lad. He has never lost touch with his roots or the people from here."

We're saying it right now; we're here for it.

In a move which has cemented Niall's status as the sweetest One Direction member, the Mullingar-native has shared an image of a handwritten note directed at his fans following their support for his recently announced tour dates.

And it's safe to say, the singer's fans are falling all over themselves as a result.

"It's been incredible to see such an amazing reaction to the 'Flicker Sessions," he began. "Thank you so much as usual for you love and support."

"For those of you wondering why I'm not stopping nearer you this time, please bear with me a little longer while I plan 2018. This is just the beginning and an opportunity for me to re-learn the craft of doing shows and touring in general."

Finishing the letter with a nod to the future, he added: "Please stay patient and there will be more exciting news soon. Love you all, Nialler."

The touching post racked up more than 10,000 likes in just five minutes, with followers quick to support the Irish star.

"You're so cute. We're really proud and ready for your tour," wrote one while another added: "We'll always be patient with you, thank you for everything you do."

Niall announced a series of intimate gigs this week, with the singer set to take to the stage in Dublin's Olympia Theatre this August.

Never before seen footage has emerged of One Direction reuniting after Louis Tomlinson's performance on The X Factor last December.

Just three days after Louis' mam passed away, the singer performed Just Hold On to honour his late mother.

Many speculated that Harry, Liam and Niall would show up, and since we didn't know any better, we thought they were a no-show.

However, a short video has emerged which shows the lads all together again after Louis' performance.

In the 3-second clip, Liam is seen hugging Louis, as Niall and Harry stand beside them.

We're sure their support meant to world to Louis, and we're delighted to see the lads all back together again.

In 2015, One Direction fans all over the world were left heartbroken after the band announced they were taking a hiatus.

Since then the boys have been busy carving out some pretty successful solo careers and our very own Niall Horan is no exception.

With hits like This Town and Slow Hands racing to the top of the charts, the Mullingar-native has proved that there is light at the end of the 1D tunnel.

The singer recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he helped the host create some impromptu musical numbers in a round of the Instant Song Challenge, and as expected, the results were hilarious.

With Niall on guitar and Jimmy on keyboard, the pair composed a whole host of hilarious, on-the-spot songs, inspired by random titles sent in by viewers.

The first was a rock anthem called Witness to Fitness followed closely by an old-fashioned country tune – Quickly Clicky Pens.

Struggling to hold in the laughs, the duo finished off their set with a stellar performance of a soft-rock ballad called Stepping on Toes.

Check out the full video below.

We reckon there's a spot ready and waiting for Jimmy if One Direction ever do decide to give it another go.

Former One Direction star, Niall Horan recently opened up about his love life (or lack there of) and denied claims that he is dating Selena Gomez's best friend, Courtney Barry.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, the Mullingar man explained how he's happy enough to stay home alone on a Saturday night.

"At the moment, I'm enjoying being 23. I only get one go at me twenties. I'd like to give it me best go,'' he said.

"I’m happy to go home alone on a Saturday night, drink and watch football."

However, Niall did reveal that he reckons he's experienced love twice before, but admits "it could have been lust."

"I think I got a type, anyway – Dark hair, dark eyes. Someone I can see as a friend."

Sound like you?

The Slow Hands singer then went on to explain his theory of ''Irish ignorance'', revealing that despite his multi-million fortune, his father still refuses to let Niall buy him a new home.

"I always say there’s ignorance and there’s Irish ignorance. It’s on a different level," he said.

"He’ll barely take a Christmas present off me. He doesn't’t want any of it. He just wants me to come visit."

When asked if he plans to return to Mullingar, Niall joked that he's too busy to permanently reside anywhere right now.

"I might as well not live anywhere – I’m busy all year."

Niall's new single, Slow Hands, hit number one on the Billboard chart earlier this month.

Niall Horan is a national treasure, but he's been looking across the channel for a potential love match.

Gerodie Shore's Marnie Simpson, who recently went through a break up with her ex Lewis Bloor, has been sliding into the 1D star's DMs, but Niall isn't the only one she's been corresponding with.

Marnie has also gotten chatting to X Factor singer James Arthur.

"I’ve been speaking to them. We’ve said hello and I’ve spoken over DMs with both of them," the Geordie star told The Sun.

The Mullingar man is a fan of the show, according to Marnie, and the pair have been chatting about it, though Marnie insists that it is just "friendly."

We think Niall is a much better option, Marns.

Many families have disagreements, and the latest celeb fam to not see eye to eye is the Horans.

Multiple sources are claiming that Niall Horan isn't 'altogether happy' that his three-year-old nephew is making bank from his fame.

Theo, the toddler, has over 800,000 followers on Twitter thanks to his famous uncle, and for the past couple years, Theo's parents, Greg and Denise, have been pushing their child into the world of showbiz.

According to the Irish Mail on Sunday, Greg and Denise launched their son's career by having him open a local Lidl in Mullingar and then signed him up to Andrea Roche's agency as an 'influencer'.

The publication claims that Niall has started to distance himself from the family, with sources saying he's not happy about private photos being used to boost the family's public profile.

Last month, Greg tweeted: "Looking forward to [sic] working with some amazing brands in the next few months #InfluencerMarketing #GregHoran."

He was then spotted attending meetings in Manchester, while taking time out to look at Ferraris.

When Selena Gomez and Niall Horan were spotted leaving a London hotel together back in December 2015, it's fair to say we all thought they were going to be Celebland's newest hot couple.

Nothing was ever confirmed, but over the last year or so they've been spotted having lunch dates together and getting cosy at award shows, so it's safe to say the rumours never really went away.

But now, Niall has pulled the ultimate lad-move (which is kinda cringy) and has commented on a photo of Selena and her mates from TWO YEARS AGO.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the Mullingar man post a comment on a pic from January 2015, saying: "Miss you guys. Can't wait to see you all."

Doesn't he know that he can never get away with anything on the Internet?!

So, could this be Nelena 2.0? We certainly hope so.
