Lena Dunham has admitted that being a part of Taylor Swift’s posse is not always so fantastic. We can’t believe it.

Lena, who featured in the Bad Blood video has recently admitted that she feels “chubby” when she hangs out with Taylor and the squad.

Considering she took to the stage alongside some Victoria’s Secret alumni not too long ago, we can imagine it could be a bit intimidating.

The Girls creator has confessed that she felt very self-conscious standing beside models Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge as well as Pitch Perfect 2 star Hailee Steinfeld.

"I was so thrilled to support my friend and so displeased to learn about the truth of my own height,” Lena said about the appearance in New Jersey last Friday.

"I've been feeling pretty tall, feeling pretty sturdy, and it was amazing to me, like, 'Oh, I'm not tall, I'm chubby.' It's different."

According to Lena she never notices the difference when the squad are hanging out off-stage.

Probably because nobody can really look all that leggy and glamorous in a onesie. Which seems to be the groups’ outfit of choice for socialising.

“On most days, I feel really great and fine about, but I don't think standing next to, like, three supermodels or so is anything even the most confident woman needs to do.”

We are inclined to agree with Lena.

“The minute I caught sight of myself in the Jumbotron, I knew something was very wrong."

This is why we’re not that upset for not being in the most A-list clique to exist, wearing heels all the time to compensate would be too painful.

Taylor Swift seems to be taking over the world, one bestie at a time.

A few weeks ago at her London gig, her pals Cara, Kendall and Gigi joined her on stage and we thought things didn't get much better than that. But last night, it reached another level.

The 23-year-old first shared the stage with American rapper The Weekend, before being joined by the entire American women's soccer team after their victory of winning the world cup.

Taylor posted a photo to Instagram saying "Got to welcome the U.S. Women's Soccer Team home after their World Cup Victory- I LOVE THEM AND THEY ARE THE NICEST."

But it gets even better, some of Taylor's closest pals joined her on stage to recreate the 'Bad Blood' music video.

Taylor surprised her fans when she called on Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldrige to join her on stage.

The talented songstress who is travelling the world with her epic 1989 tour played a montage from friends before being joined on stage by her super group of friends.

The montage included clips from Lena Dunham saying “I’m surprised that when she walks down the street, stray cats down come towards her because she’s the patron saint of cats,”

This clip also includes Karlie Kloss explaining that "it's not about where you are, it's about who your with".

Lena Dunham was one of many straight people in the world who vowed that she would not be walking down the aisle until it was legal for every person to do so, regardless of their gender.

But with the American Supreme Court’s ruling on the 26th June that same-sex marriage is to be made legal in all 50 states, the road is now wide open for the Girls star to take the plunge.

After the news broke she even tweeted her boyfriend of three years, Bleachers and Fun frontman, Jack Antonoff saying, “get on it, yo.”

But now that she has the option to don “the fluffy white dress”, the question is, does she actually want to?

The 29-year-old penned a letter to The New Yorker where she explained her own confusing feelings about the institution of marriage.

Ms Dunham explained how it was easy to reject marriage as a self-sacrifice but that when the requirement for her to do so disappeared, their decision all of a sudden didn’t seem like so much a sacrifice.

“Just two days earlier, we had been living in a world where marriage wasn’t an option, or, rather, was an option that we had postponed for ourselves,” she revealed.

“And, instead of a hardship, this limbo had been a saving kind of relief, a limitless breathing space that allowed our relationship to grow without any of the tortured questions of legal commitments and ring settings that seem to plague so many sooner than they might want.”

Lena described how after the ruling came through, she was bombarded with messages from friends and family asking about her own big day.

“Now you can get married!” “Hello, bride to be <3” “So, when’s the wedding?” were just a few of the message she was getting.

So, is the countdown on? Will we be seeing Ms Dunham skipping down the aisle wearing white frills any time soon?

It doesn't appear that there will be a Mr and Mrs Antonoff just yet. "I like being a guest, for now," Lena admitted. "Aunt Bonnie, keep the dress in the box. But don't throw it away." At least she's not ruling it out anyway.

And if real life marriage is off the cards, we at least hope that she gives us a Girls wedding sometime soon. With Marnie and Dessy having fallen apart our next best hope is Hannah and the new guy!

It's been a huge day in American history, with the US Supreme Court ruling that states can no longer ban same sex-marriage. In effect, gay marriage has now been legalised all over the US, something LGBT campaigners have fought for for years.

One person who is definitely excited about the good news is Girls creator and star Lena Dunham.

Although she is not in a same-sex relationship, the actress has spoken out openly in support of marriage equality many times, and even famously said that she and her boyfriend Jack Antonoff would not wed until it was legal for everyone else to do the same.

"The idea of having a celebration that can't be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesn't really feel like a celebration at all," she explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this year.

And after today's landmark ruling, it seems the actress doesn't want to wait a minute longer to tie the knot:

Subtle as a brick, Lena.

The actress also took the opportunity to tell her fellow citizens not to stand down in their fight for equality in all parts of life. "Let's use this victory as a reminder to keep pushing for equality on every frontier. We have the power!" she wrote.

The issue of LGBT marriage is one that's close to home for Lena, as her younger sister Grace came out at the age of 17. Lena described the moment as a "huge turning point for me in my understanding of the issues facing LGBTQ people."

We bet there will be celebrations in the Dunham house this evening!

Is this just the best birthday present or what?

Mindy Kaling knows exactly how to celebrate her birthday in comfort. The Office star marked her 36th birthday by having a pyjama party and watching the horror flick, It Follows with a bunch of friends and a whole load of McDonald’s.

Part of my birthday is we got to wear pajamas and we are watching It Follows at lunch.

This sounds like the perfect birthday party to us!

And what present did the actress really want for her birthday? Why, a Dubsmash from friend Lena Dunham, of course!

Mindy tweeted her special request saying “I would also love a dubsmash of @lenadunham doing a portion of @tomhanks iconic “there’s no crying in baseball” speech.”

Sure enough, the talented  Ms Dunham obliged.

Your bday wish is my command @mindykaling

But it wasn’t all about Ms Kaling as the kind-hearted writer also tweeted asking fans what their favourite charities were so as that she could donate to them.

“For my birthday I’d like to go shopping. What are your favourite charitable organizations and why? Tweet me link & I will give!”

This is just so sweet! All in all, this sounds like a seriously great birthday to us.

In a week where Sarah Palin controversially called the 29-year-old a paedophile in an angry Facebook post, SHEmazing! reckons it is high-time we compiled a list of reasons why we really LOVE Lena Dunham.

HEY LENA, WHY NOT LAUGH OFF EVERYONE'S SEXUAL "EXPERIMENTS" AS YOU HAUGHTILY ENJOY REWARDS FOR YOUR OWN PERVERSION? YOU…

Posted by Sarah Palin on Thursday, 4 June 2015

Actress, author, screenwriter, producer, director, feminist extraordinaire – that just about sums up the New York-native for us.

Incredibly given her young age, she has received no fewer than eight Emmy Award nominations for Girls – the same ground-breaking series which won her two Golden Globes.

Here are just some of the reasons why she's the best…

1.These emoji pants

Our love for these is pretty self-explanatory, though we're not too sure we'd want to wear them heading off for a jog. But they are, nevertheless, amazing.

2. She and her boyfriend are SO cute

Lead guitarist for the band Fun, as well as lead vocalist for Bleachers, Jack Antonoff and her are just adorable together.

She often posts messages of love and support for her beau to Instagram or Twitter, and we're bigs fan of the fact she's not afraid to open up and talk about lurrvve.

3. Girls (obviously)

This television series is a modern-day (as well as more true-to-life) take on Sex And The City. Lena stars in, writes, directs and produces it all – and the fifth series kicked-off earlier this year.

4. She's written an autobiographical tome: I’m Not That Kind Of Girl

This book, a collection of stories, emails and lists, is an honest account of her life growing up. It's attracted some controversy (including Sarah Palin's recent comments) since being released last September, but overall it was hugely well-received. It placed at No.2 on the New York Times best-sellers list.

5. She's open about personal issues

Lena openly suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety. Her willingness to speak publicly about these issues is admirable and definitely gives comfort to other people going through the same thing.

She's also says exercise helps her tackle her depressive issues.

6. Her positive body image

As Lena has shown time and time again, she really doesn't care about what society says a woman's body should look like.

She's comfortable in her own skin – and that sends out a positive message to women all over the world struggling with not being "perfect".

In fact, she's just the kind of positive female role model we gals need in our lives.

7. She loves eating pizza

Anyone who loves pizza this much, is a friend of ours for life…

8. She is BFFs with Taylor Swift

She is besties with Tay-Tay, and even stars in her music video for Bad Blood. We wanna hang out with them…

I’m kind of sick of talking about Lena Dunham, but you know what? At this stage, she’s unavoidable.

Back in 2012, I read countless reviews, debates and discussions on the subject of Girls both before and after watching it myself. They ranged from the complimentary to the extremely disparaging, but I did get the sense from all of this media buzz that what I was hearing about was a Very Important Show. (The exact same story could be told about the 2014 release of Dunham’s book, Not That Kind of Girl.)

A note on the negativity. I’m struggling to think of one male in my own recent memory to have received such a litany of abuse for simply writing an honest piece of work. This fact in itself is the essence of why the following is my favourite line from NTKOG:

"There is nothing gutsier to me than a person announcing that their story is one that deserves to be told, especially if that person is a woman."

I couldn’t agree more. Lena Dunham has been dismissed by a lot of writers as excessively privileged and thus unrelatable, and this is also visible in the show, but I think there are a lot of key moments and issues raised in Girls that manage to transcend class and culture. The good, the bad, and the downright embarrassing are all there, in plain sight.

A classic scene is the ‘Cos it’s Wednesday night, baby, and I’m alive’ one. Most have us are familiar with it, right? I think there’s something about the utter ridiculousness of this entire episode that we can all identify with a little. Sure, not so many of us will have had that experience while wearing a string vest, high in a Brooklyn warehouse, but it’s somehow relatable nonetheless. That night when you’re out when you shouldn’t be, knowing you have responsibilities tomorrow, straddling the gap between vague maturity and full-on adulthood. It’s refreshingly normal and a bit ugly – the reality that we’re all a little bit irresponsible, after all.

Speaking of responsibility, Hannah’s problems at the beginning of Girls season one are decidedly first-world – her parents take her out to dinner in order to urge her to, well, get a real job. Safe to say that many viewers weren’t exactly crying her a river. With a good dose of perspective, Shoshanna’s terror at finally exiting university, still healing from a breakup and facing into the real world are similarly ridiculous – but it’s a feeling that so many of us have had. Hands up who’s still pretending that they won’t be working 9-5 for the rest of their life?! I know I am.

On that note, it seems to me that a resounding theme throughout the series is fear. Marnie’s fear upon exiting a serious relationship that has dominated her adult life. Adam’s initial phobia of commitment. Hannah’s continuing terror that she’ll never ‘make it’ – and any time she does make any kind of tangible professional progress, she gets impostor syndrome! It’s hard not to relate on some level.

I’ve yet to speak to a female I know who doesn’t like the show. Although the scenes and characters don’t immediately speak to everyone, it’s the ugly underbelly of self-doubt and unease felt by so many of us twenty-somethings that ultimately carries this series, and it’s too painfully honest to ignore.

There are certain celebrities that we just KNOW we'd get on so well with, if we could only meet them. Emma Stone, we're looking at you.

If there's one celebrity that has managed to cover a lot of ground when forming new friendships, it's Taylor Swift. We're sure she's a lovely girl and all that, but how can one person have so many BFFs?!

Here are some of the times we were especially envious of Taylor's friend-making prowess…

1. That time her and Karlie Kloss were the queens of the Victoria's Secret catwalk
Ok, we wouldn't look quite as good in a leotard and cape, but we could still have had a GREAT time.

2. That time she and Emma Stone just cuddled and had the chats
But we love to cuddle! Sadface.

3. That time she snapped her Dad casually strolling around with the Haim sisters
NBD.

4. That time she and Lorde took a cookery class together
WHY did no-one invite us?

5. That time her and Ed Sheeran drank tea from cups tailored to their personalities.
This one makes us especially jealous because we love tea, and we love Ed Sheeran.

6. That time Beyoncé and Jay-Z rocked up to her 25th birthday party
Can't even.

7. That time the "whole team" hung out at Sarah Hyland's party
The "team" includes Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Kelly Osbourne and Hailee Steinfeld, BTW. In case you weren't envious enough.

8. That time she and Lena Dunham made flower crowns together
This is too much for our little hearts.

Actress and writer Lena Dunham has never been one to shy away from exposing her body to viewers, but this latest Instagram post really took things to a new level!

Jenni Konner, executive producer of Girls, shared a pretty revealing photo of the actress prepping for last night's Golden Globes ceremony, clad in nothing but trackie pants, an open robe… and nipple pasties.

The photo was captioned "#FREETHENIPPLE cover. @lenadunham."

Jenni's photo came just hours before Lena's admission on the red carpet that she had deleted Twitter from her phone, saying she hated that the social media site had become a place where "people threaten my life and tell me what a cow I am."

Ouch. The actress called it "the dark side of the internet," adding "I deleted Twitter because I’m trying to create a safer space for myself emotionally."

Despite a self-imposed ban on checking her Twitter news feed, the star said she hadn't quit the social network entirely – in fact, she was busy posting updates throughout the Globes ceremony.

We knew she wouldn't stay away for long!

You really know you've made it when you get to guest star on The Simpsons, right?

Well, in that case, creator and star of hit show Girls, Lena Dunham, has well and truly hit the big time!

Yes, the fabulous Lena has been offered a guest appearance on the long-running show and has, unsurprisingly, jumped at the chance.

28-year-old Lena will play Candace, a pharmacist treating Homer for narcolepsy, who suddenly finds herself the object of his affections.

The show's executive producer, Al Jean, chatted about the exciting collaboration and revealed that while Lena won't be playing herself or Hanna, her character in Girls, we may be familiar with the type of character she will be voicing.

He gave us an idea of what to expect, saying: "That funny, intellectual, slightly awkward, endearing tone that everybody's familiar with."

The unbelievably talented Lena will be starring in the premiere of the show's 27th season, in an episode called Every Man's Dream.

We can't wait!

Lena Dunham, creator and star of the hit series Girls, has us all thinking she’s about to take a few important steps up the aisle by rocking what looks suspiciously like an engagement ring!

28-year-old Lena has been dating Jack Antonoff, lead guitarist of the band Fun, since 2012, but has said in the past that she doesn’t plan to marry until same-sex marriage has been legalised.

This is an issue especially close to Lena’s heart as her younger sister Grace happens to be gay and Lena understandable believes both her and her sister should be afforded the same rights when it comes to marriage.

Commenting on the matter back in October, Lena said: “We’re not against marriage, but I wanna wait until it’s something- my sister’s gay and it just doesn’t feel good to me to do something she can’t do.”

However, the talented writer and actress has us all wondering whether a festive proposal took place recently as she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand while out and about in New York over the last week.

Oooh, watch this space!

With just over a month to go before the fourth series of Girls airs, we're getting a little ansty about what could be in store.

But a new promo for the season, released today, makes us wish we actually knew nothing at all.

Most of the plotlines seem fairly innocent – Shosh trying to work things out with Ray, Marnie freaking out about everything and Hannah being, well Hannah.

As for Jenna though, certain clips from the promo would suggest that she's moving in on Hannah's turf with Adam. Check out the two of them looking super flirty at 32 seconds in! Jenna is also seen telling Hannah that "the heart wants what the heart wants." Does the heart want Adam?!

We'll have to wait til January to find out more, but for now we are very intrigued!
