Lena Dunham has furiously slammed allegations that she molested her little sister.

In an article written by right-wing blog Truth Revolt entitled ‘Lena Dunham Describes Sexually Abusing Her Little Sister’, the blog author references a passage from Lena’s new book, claiming that it describes the actress as carrying out an inappropriate act on her sister, Grace.

The Girls star took to Twitter to blast the author of the article, writing: “The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really f*****g upsetting and disgusting.”

The passage in question, from Lena’s new book Not That Kind of Girl reads:

"Grace was sitting up, babbling and smiling, and I leaned down between her legs and carefully spread open her vagina. She didn't resist and when I saw what was inside I shrieked….It quickly became apparent that Grace had stuffed six or seven pebbles in there.”

The 28-year-old went on somewhat of a tirade on Twitter after reading the piece, writing: “And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid's vagina, well, congrats to you.”

She added: “I told a story about being a weird 7 year old. I bet you have some too, old men, that I'd rather not hear. And yes, this is a rage spiral.”

In a recent interview, singer Taylor Swift opened up about her (somewhat unexpected) friendship with Lena Dunham.

The pair first became pals in 2012 when Lena sent Taylor a direct message on Twitter, gushing about her music. Two years on, Taylor describes her bestie as “a hug in the form of a person,” saying that “her perspective has truly shaped me in the past couple of years.”

Lena has also spoken numerous times about how much of an inspiration Taylor is, describing her songs as “a soundtrack to many of my feelings.”

The fact that the two stars have formed such a strong bond in just two years might seem a little strange, but when you consider that our twenties are some of the most formative years of our lives, it’s no surprise that friendships formed during that period would be equally life-defining.

During childhood and secondary school, our relationships are generally limited to those we meet at school or where we live. It’s only when carving a path for ourselves as adults, at college and beyond, that we get a chance to meet people who we truly identify with, rather than those we meet simply because they live in the house down the road.

That’s not to say that old friendships aren’t just as strong as new ones – we all envy those girls who’ve been a part of each other’s lives since they were three or four – but sometimes it takes growth and perspective to see what we really value in a friend.

Lena and Taylor both found what they were looking for in each other – someone who understands what it is to be successful and creative without being a full-on party animal extrovert. “We have the same responsibility and the same pressure that's on you when you write every single word you end up performing,” said Taylor in an interview last year. Lena’s also praised her pal for helping her “be stronger and make better decisions.”

As we grow older, it becomes easier for us to decide for ourselves who we want to give our time to. In our twenties we meet so many diverse groups of people but we don’t instantly become BFFs with everyone that crosses our path. If we don’t see eye to eye with someone, it’s no big deal, we can move on and drop that empty baggage.

That kind of viewpoint means that when we do find someone who we truly admire and relate to, we know the bond is real and worth holding on to.

Actress Lena Dunham is getting pretty serious with her boyfriend Jack Antonoff!

The star spoke to Howard Stern recently about her long-term relationship, referring to Jack as her "life partner." Although the couple have just moved in together, Lena says they won't be getting married any time soon – for a very good reason.

"We're not against marriage, but I wanna wait," said the Girls actress. "My sister's gay and it just doesn't feel good to me to do something she can't do."

"She can do it in some places but not all places," said Lena. Gay marriage is currently only legal in 19 out of 50 US states.

Sounds like she's following in the footsteps of Brad and Angelina, who famously said they'd wait to tie the knot until gay marriage was legal in every state – a promise which they seem to have backed out of!

Lena said that despite their busy schedules, her and Jack are closer than ever. "We met and the day after we were apart for three months and so our relationship was sort of formed long distance, like that's what I became used to," she revealed. "But now, for the most part, we see each other…we try not to be apart for more than a week or two."

Well, we hope the couple can say their vows sooner rather than later!

Lena Dunham has amazing body confidence, as any fan of HBO’s Girls will know, but she wasn’t always so comfortable in her own skin.

In her autobiographical book Not That Kind of Girl, the actress reveals that she battled severe anxiety issues as a child – which still affect her today. “I really love my life, but I've kind of worn anxiety grooves into my brain,” she wrote. “It just doesn't always sound good in there."

Despite her relaxed attitude to nudity on Girls, Lena admits she went through a period of being seriously unhappy with her body. “When I got out of college I thought, 'What am I gonna do? No one's gonna hire me, I'm a fat girl,'” she said.

The star also confesses that during the first season of the show, she took her dieting to extremes, keeping a detailed food journal and greatly restricting her eating. As a result, she ended up being hospitalised with “crazy stomach pains.”

Describing the incident, Lena said, “It was basically revealed that I'd been just drinking laxative tea and coffee and smoking cigarettes and then eating weird foods at weird hours. I really messed myself up.”

Since meeting her “incredibly supportive” boyfriend, Fun guitarist Jack Antonoff, Lena says her body hang-ups have eased.

“I really feel good with my size now," she said. "It used to be when I went into a room with all thin women I felt like, what's wrong with me? Now I just feel special."

Now, that's an attitude we can get on board with!

Zosia Mamet, AKA the whirlwind that is Shoshanna Shapiro on HBO’s hit series Girls, has followed Lena Dunham’s lead and dyed her hair blonde!

The actress cut her brown locks into a sleek bob back in January, but was obviously inspired by co-star Lena Dunham and decided that blondes really do have more fun! Lena seems to be a fairly easy going individual, so we don’t think the pair will be falling out over their shared hairstyle. Besides, they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Zosia isn’t the only Girls actress to get a make-over either. The first photos of Allison Williams playing Peter Pan show her with a VERY short new hair-do!

However, Allison’s new look is (thankfully!) just a wig – though she did say she would cut her hair for the part: “I was all ready to cut my hair, then was told by the folks who actually know what they're doing that a wig works better for everybody. So, December 4th, here we come. #wiglife #peterpanlive #nbc"

Producers of Peter Pan Live! have said that Allison was a “major find” for the role: “She will reinvent the iconic role of Peter Pan with her wit, her warmth, her dynamic flying and her wonderful musical abilities. The score will be sung beautifully and introduced to a whole new generation of families.”

We might just have to tune in – though we’re finding it hard to imagine Allison singing anything other the song from Marnie's cringy music video in Girls!

From looks, to work, to feeling intimidated walking past a group of men on the street, there is no doubt that most women are subjected to some form of sexism daily.

Nowhere is that clearer than in the 4chan nude photo scandal that exploded this week, incriminating celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence,  Kate Upton and Ariana Grande, to name but a few.

The reaction to the scandal has been mixed, with many rightly saying that the leaked photos are a huge violation of privacy – the pictures were never meant to be seen. Lena Dunham posted a series of tweets yesterday defending those affected and referring to the hacker as a “sex offender”:

While many have spoken out asking people not to click on the nude pictures, others have taken a more controversial view, like Ricky Gervais in this tweet:

He then defended himself (fairly weakly):

Statements like Ricky’s above might have been meant as a joke, but they only strengthen the cultural belief that some women are just “asking for it,” – that we could be respected if we wanted, but we don’t try hard enough, or we put ourselves out there too much. Sure, he addresses "celebrities" rather than just "ladies," but among the list of more than 100 stars published by the hacker, just two male names appear – and they are both allegedly pictured with women.

Artist Yang Liu distilled the complex idea of gender differences into a series of minimalist pictures which she published recently. One of the most striking images touches on the idea that while men feel the need to boast about their sexual experience and possibly over-exaggerate, most women do the opposite, playing down their “number” for fear of being looked at in a bad light.

Why do we feel that as women we are to blame for how others see us? It’s something that even the most confident of females experience from time to time – the nagging feeling that we should be ashamed of being too successful, or too driven, or even too sexy.

Another of Yiu’s pieces addresses the idea of competition between males and females. No matter how far we go, or how fast we run, a man will always have the benefit of a head start simply because of his gender.

The images might be simplistic and leave a lot to be discussed, but they certainly highlight the fact that there are still major differences between men and women in modern society.

If a group of strong, successful women like those incriminated in the 4chan scandal are being told that they only have themselves to blame, what kind of message is that sending to other females the world over?

Taking nude photos of yourself is not a criminal action. Feeling good about yourself and your body is not a criminal action. Yet, in many ways it seems that for women, the rules are somehow different.

Lena Dunham has graced us with what is most definitely the best no make-up selfie of all time – sorry Nicole Richie!

Showing us that we can’t all look as Flawless as Beyoncé or Michelle Keegan, we applaud Lena for her honest account of what our mornings actually look like.

The creator and star of Girls shared the photo on her Instagram account, writing: “Is this what Beyonce was singing about? (Also, pretty depressing that this look isn’t even fuelled by one ounce of alcohol)."

Welcome to our Monday mornings, Lena – we welcome you with open arms.

Lena has also been sharing her opinion on the current hacking scandal which has seen celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst and more have their private photos shared online.

The Girls star has been vocal in how wrong these leaks are, writing: “Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It’s not okay … Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they’re a sex offender.”

They say a change is as good as a rest. But you know what it’s not as good as? A decent haircut.

Girls creator Lena Dunham posted a photo to her Instagram account sporting a blonde bowl cut, with the caption: "change is good". And as much as we love her, we can’t help but think that she’s made a terrible, terrible mistake with this one.

Lena must not have realised that there is only a tiny number of people in the world who can pull off a bowl haircut. However, many have tried, and failed, such as Kelly Osbourne:

Or Miley Cyrus.

Or Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber.

Few can pull it off as well as Rihanna.

Or Agyness Deyn.

Still, if Lena’s happy, then that’s all that matters. We’re just scarred over the bowl cut our mother gave us when we were four. We wouldn’t wish that horror on our worst enemy!

Zosia Mamet, one of the stars of the hit HBO series Girls, has revealed that she “nearly died” from an eating disorder in her teens.

Her issues started very young, when at eight-years-old someone told her she was fat.

“I’m not fat; I’ve never been fat.” Zosia says. “But ever since then, there has been a monster in my brain that tells me I am – that convinces me my clothes don’t fit or that I’ve eaten too much.”

Her obsession with weight and appearance reached their peak in her teens, as the disorder took over her life.

Zosia unflinchingly details how bad things had become: “ As a teenager I used to stand in front of the refrigerator late at night staring into that white fluorescent light, debilitated by the war raging inside me: whether to give in to the pitted hunger in my stomach or close the door and go back to bed,”

“I would stand there for hours, opening and closing the door, taking out a piece of food then putting it back in; taking it out, putting it in my mouth, and then spitting it into the garbage. I was only 17, living in misery, waiting to die.”

It was Zosia’s father, award winning playwright David Mamet who intervened and got her into treatment, saving her life.

He came home one night from a party, took me by the shoulders, and said, ‘You’re not allowed to die.”

This was a wake up call for Zosia. “It was the first time I realised this wasn’t all about me. I didn’t care if I died, but my family did.”

“That’s the thing about these kinds of disorders: They’re consuming; they make you egocentric; they’re all you can see.”

Today Zosia feels she has come to terms with her past issues and is now happy at a healthy weight.

“It may never disappear completely”, she says, “but hopefully one day it’ll be so quiet, it’ll only be a whisper and I’ll wonder, ‘Was that just the wind?’

It looks like a baby could be on the way soon for Lena Dunham –  if her boyfriend has anything to do with it!

According to Jack Antonoff, the two are older now and things are getting very serious indeed: “It just seems like the most fun thing in the world. I’ve never met people who have kids who haven’t looked me in the eye and been like ‘It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened.”‘

The Fun guitarist also appears to have a grown-up approach to life, saying: “I think it’s biological. I’m 30. I’m not that young, right? I’m not like, 24, or 22. I’m no longer in the phase of my life when I talk about everything in the future. I’m in the future.”

Aww, how sweet would these two be with a little baby?

We wonder if they would write a pregnancy into Girls?! Somehow we can’t imagine Hannah with a baby!

Lena Dunham likes to share all with her Instagram fans and her most recent snaps were no exception.

The Girls creator revealed that her new rescue dog, Lamby got a little aggressive with her and decided to bite her in the behind.

The 28-year-old went onto to share a snap of her blood stained underwear, “Hopeless Romantic”.

Lena mentioned her friend and fellow co-star, Jemima Kirke was there to witness the event.

“My dog bit me on the ass and Jemima Kirke captured the image of a life time.”

Dunham then went onto share a second snap of her pup who she said was acting like the incident never happened.

Lena went on to later tweet about what occurred and said Lamby had bitten her twice “in response to me sobbing”.
