This is a developing news story…

At least two people have been killed and 16 injured in an attack on a Florida nightclub.

According to local news reports the mass shooting occurred in the early hours of this morning during a “teen event” at Club Blu in Fort Myers.

The Telegraph has reported that many of the injured are young people.

Reports suggest clubgoers as young as 13-years-old were attending the event.

One person has been detained by police in connection with the attack.

The victims have yet to be identified.

The news comes less than two months after a single gunman killed 49 people and wounded 53 at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

The body of a two year old boy has been found by divers in Florida some 16 hours after he was snatched by an alligator at his Disney World hotel.

The child's body was intact upon discovery, authorities said at a press conference, meaning it was likely he drowned during the attack.

The boy has now been identified as Lane Graves, the 2-year-old son of Matt and Melissa Graves, who hailed from Nebraska.

He, his parents, and his four-year-old sister have been at the resort since Sunday and were at an outdoor movie night when the tragic event happened.

Local sheriff Jerry Jennings said he and a Catholic priest broke the news to them: “Of course, the family was distraught, but also I believe somewhat relieved that we were able to find their son’s body," the law enforcement officer said in the aftermath.

The youngster had seemingly been paddling in the lagoon attached to his hotel yesterday evening when the reptile attacked as his family looked on.

Local authorities had already stated that the child was unlikely to have survived the terrible incident.

Disney has reportedly closed all the beaches at its resort in the aftermath.

This is the first reported alligator-related fatality of 2016 in Florida.

The boy was playing on the the Seven Seas Lagoon beach, a man-made body of water open to Disney guests, when he was taken by an alligator and dragged into the water.

His father Matt reportedly went in after him and fought to try to save his son, but he was unable to do so, and was injured in the process.

According to Reuters, a professional team of some 60 people were involved in the subsequent location of the child's body.

US authorities have captured and killed five alligators in the area as part of their investigations.

A toddler is missing in Florida after seemingly being taken by an alligator at his hotel near the Disney World resort.

US authorities led by the Florida Fish and Wildlife, Reedy Creek Fire Rescue, and the Sheriff’s Office, are desperately searching for the two-year-old, who was snatched at around 9.20pm local time.

It is being reported that the boy was dragged into the Seven Seas Lagoon near Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The child's Nebraska-based family of five was relaxing on the shoreline when the alligator attacked.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that his father entered the water and tried to grab the child from the animal, but was unsuccessful. He had scratches on his arms after the ordeal.

Rose Silva, spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed recently that the child has still not been found.

Witnesses say the reptile was more than 2metres long.

The search continues this morning.

A man has been arrested in the US for throwing a live, 3-foot long alligator through the window of a Wendy's drive-though.

Yes, you read that sentence correctly.

The 24-year-old Florida man reportedly threw the animal from the back of his truck through the window after picking up his order at the drive-thru of the popular US fast food outlet at Royal Palm Beach in Florida.

Incident reports from the scene, which allegedly took place last October, show pictures of the predator in the restaurant after the bizarre event occurred.

Joshua James was arrested yesterday on charges of tossing the 3-and-a-half foot creature into the Wendy's kitchen.

CCTV footage from inside the restaurant shows the creature moving freely throughout the restaurant.

Joshua is reported to have picked the creature up on the side of the road, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

Joshua reportedly yelled: "See ya later, alligator" as he drove off…

(Okay we made that last bit up, but it was just too good to not use.)

They've already courted plenty of attention over the last few days; but loved-up Scott Disick and his teen model Lindsay Vrckovnik looked totally relaxed as they hit the beach in Florida.

Yes, fresh from all-night partying in Manhattan, the affectionate duo seemed happy to embrace a bit of down-time on the Miami sand – where temperatures are currently a wholly pleasant 30C.

And although Ms Vrckovnik was stunning in a simple black bikini, sore and tender-looking bruising was also plainly evident on her slender legs.

It's possible that the 18-year-old has been hitting the gym hard in recent days, or perhaps she took a tumble in her heels during a night-out.

But whatever the cause, the black and purple marks covered parts of her thighs and calves, as well as under her knees.

Meanwhile, a bearded and tanned Scott, 32, wore blue floral board shorts and tortoise shell sunglasses for their beach jaunt, which took place yesterday.

He split with Kourtney Kardashian, his partner of close-to ten years and the mother of his three young children, in July of this year.

It is believed that their break-up was prompted by photographs which showed Mr Disick getting tactile with stylist Chloe Bartoli, 26, in the south of France.

And although ultimately it was 36-year-old Kourtney who ended their relationship, it seems that Scott has been able to move on – finding new happiness with Canadian Lindsay, who finished secondary school this summer.

She moved to New York to forward her successful modelling career, and to study at the prestigious Parsons design academy.

“Talk about falling asleep on the job!! He was passed out … on the bed and didn’t even notice the deputies taking pictures! #FloriDUH.”

The hashtag “FloriDUH” has to be out favourite part of this whole thing. Brilliant!

Our favourite Irish mammy Mrs Brown aka Brendan O’Carroll is set to hop into bed – of the business kind – with none other than David Beckham!

The Irish TV star wants to buy into Becks’ new Miami football team.

Brendan now lives in Florida – where Becks’ new club will be based – and he is keen to support his soon-to-be local team.

Brendan, whose BBC1 show Mrs Brown’s Boys pulls in a huge 12 million viewers, said, “I’m hoping to buy into it.

“I’m hoping to buy shares in it…they are going to be my home team.”

But Brendan told us not to expect Becks to have a cameo in Mrs Brown’s Boys any time soon.

“Unless it’s completely accidental. He’s not really funny,” he said.

We think Victoria would disagree there!

Miley is never one to cover when it comes to selfies, but it seems the same can be said for her skin too.

The We Can’t Stop star showed a topless picture of her sunburnt skin after she spent some time on the beach in Florida

The singer may want to get a tan but is it worth getting so badly burnt over? We don’t think so.

Toddler Za’Dariyah Mishaw is bound to be the youngest person to be pulled over by the cops, and she wasn’t even in a real car at the time.

The two-year-old girl from Jacksonville, Florida, was driving her small pedal car outside her apartment complex when a police cruiser pulled into the car park with its blue lights flashing.

The stunt was all a bit of fun by a few good-natured officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office who were responding to a call at the same apartment complex where Za’Dariyah lives with her family.

During a heart-melting moment, Officer Christian Velasco took out his citation book and handed little Za’Dariyah a ticket.

The two-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida may have to do some extra chores to pay off the $4 ticket but her mum says the scribbling she has been making on the ticket won’t be held against her in court.

“Everybody has a bad perception of the police … and the police were real nice when they came along,” said the girl’s uncle Keyth Mishaw, who took photos of his niece’s first ‘ticket’ and sent them to First Coast News.
