demi lovato rehab

After Demi Lovato’s relapse in July, the singer has been focusing on her recovery in a rehab facility.

Demi has yet to clear up the exact details of what happened and it seems that others have felt it is up to them to report the details of that night.

Upon reading the tabloids, the Skyscraper star was infuriated with the lies reported about herself and her situation.

So, she took to Twitter to make sure her fans knew truth from stories spun to make ‘sources’ some cash.

“I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening,” she wrote.

Demi then went on a Twitter rant, leaving five more posts slamming the haters and saying she was under no obligation to share her personal life with the public.

“Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened  and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal..

“Any “source” out there that is willing to talk and sell stories to blogs and tabloids about my life isn’t actually a part of my life because most of the shit I see is soooooo inaccurate. So newsflash: your “sources” are wrong.

“I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support.

She then ended the string of tweets on a positive note and paid tribute to those close to her that have been there for her through this tough time.

“I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready. I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so f*cking much. Thank you.”

While Demi credits her fans for supporting her on her way to recovery, she is furious that her so called ‘close friends’ would spill her personal info to the tabloids.

TBH, who wouldn’t be snapping?

It's not news that Demi Lovato has had a ridiculously tough year, following her opioid overdose and subsequent trip to rehab in the past six months.

After taking time away from the spotlight, the 26-year-old singer has finally returned to the 'gram for an important cause: to encourage her fans to vote in the US mid-term elections.

She posted this today from her polling place:

"I am so grateful to be home in time to vote! One vote can make a difference, so make sure your voice is heard!"

Lovato isn't the only celebrity to display their political standpoints and show their stance, but Demi's is all the more valuable for the struggle she is currently enduring following 90 days of sobriety.

The former child star was admitted to a rehabilitation facility on July 24 after suffering an opioid overdose in her Hollywood Hills mansion, currently on sale for €8.995 million.

She stayed in Beverley Hills hospital for almost two weeks before seeking in-patient treatment for her addiction, which she has suffered with throughout her life, alongside mental illness and eating disorders.

The star entered a treatment facility in 2010 for bipolar disorder, self-harm, addiction and bulimia, but relapsed after leaving the centre. Following this, she entered a sober living facility for a year, and celebrated six years of sobriety in March.

Her July overdose shocked fans and the famous alike. It followed the release of her semi-autobiographical single, Sober in June.

Her previous Instagram post is a selfie from July 23, the day before entering rehab, without a caption. She appears to have been dispelling fan fears that her life had ended as a result of the overdose:

The singer thanked her friends and family for their support during her troubles, and has been silent ever since. Today, she has used her platform to encourage a higher voter turnout.

Her mother, Dianna De La Garza,  has recently spoken out about her daughter's advancement: “Yes, she has 90 days and I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, it’s work."

"She’s getting the help she needs. And that, in itself, encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

The 26-year-old singer was spotted by paparazzi out for the first time in Los Angeles last weekend, leading the public to believe that she has finished her stint at an addiction facility.

She went out to dinner with friend and designer Henry Levy, TMZ reported.

Her mother has been especially vocal about how grateful their family is that Demi is alive:

“I just feel like the reason she’s alive today is because of the millions of prayers that went up that day, when everybody found out what was happening,” she said.

“I don’t think she would be here if it hadn’t been for those prayers. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to save her life.”

Demi Lovato is doing well in rehab and is proud to announce she is 90 days sober.

The singer’s mum Dianna De La Garza appeared on the Sirius XM show Conversations with Maria Menounos to update fans on her daughter’s status.

She recalled the fateful night she heard of her daughter’s drug overdose.

The mum woke up to numerous text messages of people saying they had heard what happened and were sorry for Demi.

The singer’s assistant rang Diana and told her of the news shortly after.

“My knees almost went week, and I could barely stand up,” she said.

“The words that I heard are just a nightmare for any parent – ‘Demi overdosed’.” Her oldest daughter Dallas, Demi’s sister, drove her to the hospital to see her straight away.

Diana said she had no idea about her daughter’s addiction to opioids and spent the next weeks researching what opioids were and how to overcome dependency on them.

And the mum has used her new knowledge to help her daughter on her road to recovery during her time in rehab.

She was so proud to reveal that Demi has reached her 90 day sobriety milestone since her close call in July.

“Yes, she has 90 days and I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction, being a disease, is work,” Dianne said.

“It’s very hard, it’s not easy and there are no shortcuts.”

We are happy to hear the good news of Demi’s recovery and hope she continues to heal.

Meanwhile, she has her family by her side to help and support her along the way.
