OK, so maybe an official announcement wasn't exactly necessary after her recent red carpet appearance, but that doesn't mean we didn't want one we could coo over and thankfully, Sophie Ellis Bextor delivered on that front!

The singer, who stunned at the Lorraine Kelly Fashion Awards last week when she accessorised her red carpet look with a blossoming baby bump, took to Twitter to announce her wonderful news and remark on the unusual circumstances surrounding the big reveal.

Writing: "Hello all. Been finding it a bit nice but strange to be congratulated on a pregnancy I haven't actually announced yet", the singer then went on to share one of the sweetest baby announcement snaps we've seen in a while.

Uploading a shot of her beautiful bump against a neon heart emblazoned with the word 'family', the star jokingly asked partner Richard Jones what he made of the situation, wondering: "What do you think, @the feeling R? Is there a baby in there?"

Making them one of the sweetest couples in the public eye, Richard excitedly replied: "Yes, there is!" to which Sophie responded: "Ah ok, cool! Mystery solved. Baby in Autumn. Lovely! As you were. Xx"

The couple, who are already the proud parents of three young boys, have had messages of support and congratulations flooding in since the announcement, but while most were were incredibly sweet, one cheeky message read: "I'm going to buy you two a television. Give you something to do of an evening!"

Emotions were running high in the country on Friday night as Ireland prepared for the results of a referendum which would decide the future of the country's LGBT community.

With broadcasters, celebrities and members of the public taking to print and social media in their droves in the run-up to the historic occasion, one RTÉ employee used Friday night to slam the station for placing a gag order on their employees prior to the Marriage Equality referendum.

To 'ensure fairness in its coverage', the national broadcaster requested staff members do not publicly air their views on the issue, something which didn't sit well with The Voice presenter Eoghan McDermott.

Outraged and determined to speak out once the gag was lifted on Friday night, 32-year-old Eoghan took to Twitter, writing: "After 10. F*k you RTÉ with all my beating heart. I hope today you didn't stand in the way of a stranger's happiness."

However, it looks like the star revised his opinion of his employer's stance the following morning, writing: "Ops. Heightened emotional state. I do believe in a neutral forum for debate, important for democracy to function."

Fans and followers of the broadcaster had a mixed reaction to the star's initial tweet, but it seems all was soon forgotten as the presenter celebrated alongside the Yes side and marked a momentous day in Irish history.

Whether the break-up was mutual or not, watching a former flame head up the aisle is never easy, so we're sure Lauren Goodger is feeling a mixture of emotions as childhood sweetheart Mark Wright prepares to say 'I do' to Coronation Street star, Michelle Keegan this weekend.

So when the 28-year-old reality star chose this particular weekend to post a cryptic message on her Instagram account, it's no surprise social media went into overdrive.

Suggesting she's not 100% over the pair's split, Lauren wrote: "She's the kind of girl a guy meets when he's too young, and he f*cks up because there's too much living to do. But later he realises she's perfect."

Given the timing of the post, legions of TOWIE fans assumed Lauren was throwing shade at Mark and Michelle just hours before their big day, with one writing: "Obviously trying to get some attention on somebody's wedding day! Good luck to the happy couple."

Others were prepared to give Lauren the benefit of the doubt, but questioned her inappropriate timing, saying: "Even if this isn't about Mark, this is just terrible timing on your behalf. Wouldn't get so much negativity if you posted this a month or so down the line…"

However, many other fans of the Essex beauty wasted no time jumping to the reality star's defence, posting: "You's are all so nasty!! Wow!! Jumping to assumptions and being down right mean. Who are you to judge? It's her IG, she's allowed to express herself and put up whatever she wants."

Some of the most tender hearted of TOWIE fans took to social media to praise Lauren for her honesty and slam critics who suggested she should have kept her thoughts to herself, writing: "Lauren is allowed to be hurt or show her sadness! She was with him for many years so no doubt it's gonna hurt her this weekend. You'd all swear you never lost love before! If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all!"

While fans of the show raged back and forth over the meaning of the original post, Lauren, who was apparently planning to text her ex before his big day, appeared to take the whole thing in her stride, tweeting: "Lol laughing at the what'sapps – think the worlds gone mad! There's so much more going on in life than a quote wow."

Choosing to keep schtum as to the meaning behind the post, Lauren took the high road and let the image speak for itself.

Since news of this boy band member’s latest financial catastrophe emerged, we think we’ll keep schtum the next time we decide to call ourselves ‘broke’.

According to The Mirror, if anyone knows what it means to be broke right now, it’s Blue singer, Lee Ryan.

The 31-year-old dad-of-one has unfortunately followed in the footsteps of his three fellow bandmates and been forced to declare himself bankrupt.

It hasn’t been the easiest of times for the foursome who were dropped by Sony last month after their latest album, Colours, sold just 4,000 units in its first week, so we can only imagine how the former stars of the British pop scene must be feeling right now.

While still currently on tour with the band, it’s been said that the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant will have his assets frozen until such a time he can meet with his Official Receiver to discuss repaying money owed.

Who knows, maybe the lads will pen an absolute corker and all their money woes will soon be a thing of the past!

A massive congratulations are in order this weekend for this much-loved actress and her new husband!

Glee star, Heather Morris, tied the knot in front of close family and friends in California yesterday and was more than happy to have the beautiful event shared on social media.

The 28- year-old actress and her high school sweetheart Taylor Hubbell exchanged vows at the Old Canyon Ranch during a romantic ceremony yesterday and if these photos are anything to go by, it was an incredibly happy occasion.

Taking to social media to pay tribute to the overjoyed newlyweds, friends and co-stars uploaded shots of the intimate ceremony and honoured the happy couple throughout the day on Instagram.

Heather’s co-star, Vaness Lengis, shared an incredibly sweet snap of the newly married couple posing for selfies with delighted wedding guests while others congratulated the smitten pair on their big day.

The company who organised the couple's big day also paid tribute to the lovely pair, captioning one particular video clip with the words: "Sweetest first dance as husband and wife with all of your closest friends surrounding you."

Lady Gaga has found herself in hot water in recent days after the Born This Way musician posted a comment online which promoted the use of sunbeds.

Considering the month of May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month in the States, many people have been left shocked by the star's blatant disregard for the dangers associated with tanning beds.

Taking to Twitter and appearing to vent about the various dietary trends sweeping the US, the 28-year-old singer wrote: "Diet, diet, diet, gluten-free, plant, bio, macro, whatever. Sometimes a girl just needs a diet coke and a tanning bed."

Given the star's influence on her 47 million Twitter followers, various media outlets have slammed the star for promoting the use of tanning beds and have expressed concern for her younger fans following the ill-advised post.

Worryingly, the post has been favourited a whopping 11,709 times and it has been retweeted almost 7,000 since its publication on Friday.

While we understood the singer may have been hoping to relate to fans and their body image concerns, we fear the star may have underestimated the implications of her post.

Let's all stick to our favourite tan in a bottle, shall we?

According to devastating reports emerging from the States, 31-year-old rapper, Chinx Drugz, has been killed.

The rapper, whose real name is Lionel Pickens, was murdered in New York City at approximately 5am this morning.

Taking to social media to express their grief, members of the rap community have paid tribute to the star who is a member of French Montanas's Coke Boys group.

Fred the Godson acknowledged the shocking passing when he wrote: "Good morning y'all. Woke up with a heavy heart this morning. We lost a good one earlier today. Rest in peace Grzzz. #chinxrip."

It is understood the rapper was sitting in a car in Jamaica, Queens when he was shot and killed.

Our thoughts go out to all those affected by the rapper's untimely passing.

Let's not beat around the bush here.

In addition to 'necking on', getting 'mortal' and starting fights with each other, the members of the Geordie Shore cast all appear to have fairly high sex drives which they have no problem satisfying in front of an eager camera crew and an even more eager audience at home, right?

No, oh-so-wrong, apparently!

It came as a bit of a surprise in recent days when former cast member, Vicky Pattison, asserted that nothing could be further from the truth, in fact.

Speaking specifically for herself, the 27-year-old reality TV star, who had a number of high-profile romances while in the famous house, insists that the no pants dance doesn't feature as highly on her daily to-do list as we may have been led to believe.

Revealing that's she currently enjoying a period of celibacy, the stunning brunette, who was recently caught up in a frightening bar brawl in Marbella, said: "I’m not frustrated at all, I’m not a highly sexual person anyway. I’d rather have a nice bath."

Suggesting that her past romances may have played a part in opting for a long soak over a tumble between the sheets, Vicky said: "With the right bloke you shouldn’t have to…you should just wake up every morning and things should just be nice. Until that bloke comes along, the rest of them can just f**k off."

When George Clooney spoke openly about his love and admiration for new wife Amal recently, we don't think he realised the impact his words would have on women across the globe.

The 54-year-old star, who was known for his bachelor lifestyle and fleeting romances over the past two decades, stunned the public when he finally decided to settle down and tie the knot in September last year.

But it looks like the Ocean's Eleven star was simply waiting for his soulmate to come along if his recent comments are anything to go by!

Opening up about the impact Amal has had on his life, a smitten George said: "I'm a married man now. Everything's different now. It is actually very different."

In case you're worried 'different' mightn't necessarily be a good thing, let the delectable George assure you.

Hammering home his point while speaking at the premiere of his latest film, Tomorrowland, the Oscar winner said: "'I couldn't be happier. We're having a really fun time. I wake up in the morning and I think, "This couldn't be better."

While endearingly proud of his wife's incredible achievements as a human rights lawyer, George acknowledged that her responsibilities and his jetset lifestyle sometimes mean they can go days without seeing each other, with the star revealing: "It's not so easy because she actually has a day job. She has to, like, get people out of jail."

And just in case you were still in any way unsure of George's true feelings for the 37-year-old barrister, let him assure you when he says: "I really love my wife, I'm having a great time and I'm very proud of her. I couldn't be more proud of the things she does."

OK George, we get it!

Having amassed over one million likes for her first offering, proud mum Kourtney has decided to share a second photo of her five-month-old son and it's fair to say, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have three of the most gorgeous (and stylish!) kids on the planet.

Boasting big dark eyes and a sallow complexion, Reign couldn't have looked any sweeter as he posed for the camera yesterday and rocked an adorable cream hat with rabbit ears.

Captioning the shot: "My rad little bunny", Kourtney's second beautiful upload of baby Reign has garnered over 900,000 likes in a mere 14 hours and we're sure fans will only be clamouring for more!

Nope, we can't cope with the cuteness and seriously, we need to get our hands on that hat for next winter.

So, while we knew she was an incredible fashion designer and the proud mum of four gorgeous kids, we've just realised we have so much more to learn about former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, if her latest Twitter offering is anything to go by!

Having restricted her dance moves in the 90s to meaningful stares and slow points at the camera, we never knew quite how flexible this former pop star truly was, and is, until now!

Highlighting the comfort and versatility of her jumpsuit during a recent trip to Singapore, the 41-year-old mum reclined on a couch with one foot pointed towards the ceiling as she casually scrolled through her phone.

Gushing: "It's amazing what you can do in a jumpsuit! Excited to be in Singapore!!!", Victoria wowed fans and followers with her incredibly agility in this very impressive snap.

Managing to look both poised and graceful despite the precarious form she had positioned herself in, Victoria made us question just how many other secret talents the world-famous designer has been hiding.

The shot is a world away from her standard doe-eyed poses and we're sure we're not alone in hoping the lovely Vic keeps these random snaps coming.

By the way, we can do a backwards tumble if we try really hard.
