You'd be hardpressed to find someone who doesn't love or at least admire Adele, so it's super-rare when her name is tangled up in any negative press, right?

It looks, however, like the tables have turned on the talented Tottenham-native, with fans of Aussie soap, Neighbours, taking to Twitter in their droves last night to slam the performer's crooning.

According to the barrage of comments which flooded social media last night, viewers were furious that the star's latest single When We Were Young was played over a much-loved character's final scene.

Mourning the death of Harley Bonner's character, Josh, who was killed during a hotel explosion in an hour-long special, fans of the long-running soap found themselves distracted by the Adele track.

"Great episode but Adele really did ruin poor Josh's last words" wrote one fan while another ranted: "Poor Josh. Trying to get your final words out and you've got Adele screaming her t**s off trying to drown him out."

Before Adele fans start rolling up their sleeves and looking for a fight, it seems most viewers recognised that the problem was more to do with acoustics and less to do the actual song choice.

"Sound mix is absolutely atrocious though, can barely hear the dialogue over the music," explained one while another tweeted: "Do the #Neighbours producers think the dialogue is that bad they need to drown it out with inappropriately loud music?"

Let's get one thing straight, Adele is appropriate, any time, anywhere, any place.

Two years after being arrested and charged for drug smuggling in Peru, Tyrone-native, Michaella McCollum, sat down for an interview with RTÉ in a move which ignited serious debate on social media this week.

Slamming the national broadcaster for their approach to the interview, viewers asked why the 23-year-old was given such a gentle grilling in light of her high-profile conviction, and questioned whether the former model had received payment for her participation.

Responding to public outcry which followed Sunday night's interview, RTÉ have released a statement, saying: "Michaella McCollum spoke to RTÉ. As she felt doing so would deter other people from engaging in criminal activity.”

"It’s the story of a young Irish woman who committed a serious crime in a foreign country and her arrest, subsequent conviction and prison sentence have generated significant media coverage both nationally and internationally."

"RTÉ can confirm that neither Michaella McCollum nor any member of her family was paid for the interview screened on RTÉ One last night. Nor did RTÉ make any contribution to any fund relating to Michaella McCollum."

Defending their decision to air the interview with one of the 'Peru Two', RTÉ highlighted the public's fascination with the story which made headlines in August 2013.

"Last night’s interview was watched by an average of 550,000 viewers with one in three people watching television last night watching the programme, reflecting the significant public interest in the story," they explained. "We welcome the public discussion generated by this programme."

Original Brat Pack member, Robert Downey Jr., turned the grand old age of 51 today, and we're gonna be honest here, we're having a little trouble dealing with the reality of the situation.

51 is a DAD'S age for crying out loud, so is it OK we totally – and we mean TOTALLY – still fancy him? We certainly think so, anyway.

In fact, not only do we fancy Mr. Downey, but we sometimes picture those oh-so-special milestones we would reach together if he were our boyfriend.

Here's a brief peek!

1. The moment he sees us in anything other than HIS hoodie and OUR old GAA shorts.

"Oh like what ya see, do ya?"

2. The moment we FINALLY hit our quota on contour chat.

"But then this OTHER girl said COCOA powder!"

3. The moment he first slags us for our daily beauty regime.

"Shut up! It wasn't like that."

4. The moment he turns the charm on with our Nana for the first time.

"Marry me."

5. The moment he finally runs out of restaurant choices.

"I SAID i don't care…no, not there."

6. The moment we suggest he comes glamping with the girls this summer.

"You're just afraid you'll actually like it."

7. The moment he entertains our ridiculous questions for the first time.

"Would you rather be a balloon or a firework?"

8. The moment he tries to tell us we've been rocking panda-eyes since lunch-time.

"You've really got my back don't you, babe?"

9. The moment he shows up at our door after our first argument.

"You SHOULD be sorry!"

10. The moment his mate tells him we'd step over our own mothers for a birthday smooch.

No seriously, we would.

Let's face it, we're all on what seems like a never-ending search for that ONE beauty tip or cosmetic trick which will have us looking tip-top from dusk 'til dawn, but it isn't always easy.

Eager to offer her followers a cheap and easy hack for nailing that oh-so sought after contoured look, beauty blogger, Miriam Marroquinn, shared an idea which has divided her 60,000 online followers.

Uploading footage which showed her using Hershey's Cocoa as an alternative to standard powder, Miriam found herself the subject of backlash from YouTube and Instagram users who slammed the tip on hygiene grounds.

Accompanying the video with a post which read: "BEAUTY HACK! Fail or holy grail? How to contour your face with natural unsweetened Hershey cocoa", Miriam was called out on the footage and told by one YouTube user: "Stop teaching people to do crappy things to their face."

Echoing this, another member of the public wrote: "Awww…don't know if i can put that on my face.. it will feel weird but that's just me." while another blasted: "That's going to cause bacterial infections and breakouts. Stop using food products as make up. You're going to make a bunch of dimwitted girls sick."

Defending Miriam against the criticism, one Hershey convert wrote: "I guess a lot of people don't read the ingredients in makeup. I've purchased high end makeup that uses cocoa powder as an ingredient. If it's sugar free is not gonna attract bugs. These comments are ridiculous." (sic)

We all know Agony Aunts are renowned for dishing out sage advice, and with a few perfectly-worded sentences generally make the public feel better about ourselves, our twisted love triangles and our obsession with everything avocado-related.

The absolute QUEENS of tough love, the most accomplished of agony aunts can tell you to cop yourself on without making you feel like a right old eegit, can't they?

But what if they really said what they were thinking? What if they dished out the same advise our BFFs do when they've gone hell for leather on a bottle of vino?

We're no experts, but we think it might look a little something like this…

1. "I post a series of work-out photos every Sunday morning, but I'm losing Facebook friends. What am I doing wrong?"

If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say it would be that. Maybe just stop?

2. "I get a Starbucks every day, but absolutely hate the taste of coffee. Should I stop and just admit I prefer Capri Sonnes?"

No. Are you a millennial or not? Suck it up and drink it down, you.

3. "I've been going to spin class for 18 months, but I still don't know how to work the resistance knob on the bike. Am I alone here?"

No. No one has any idea what's going on in Spin class. Everyone's trying to avoid the chub-rub from the saddle and couldn't care less about the knob. Where IS the knob?

4. "I don't think North West is cute. And the less said about Prince George, the better. Is there something wrong with me?"

Yes. You're dead inside.

5. "I wear yoga pants every day and carry a Bobble everywhere I go, but I never exercise. What does this make me?"

While their steamy on-screen shenanigans may have kept Celebrity Big Brother fans gripped at the beginning of the year, it's fair to say that interest in Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell's on/off relationship is definitely dwindling.

So, when Jezza uploaded a shot which reportedly proves the couple are most definitely back on, it's no surprise social media users showed less interest in the latest relationship update and more interest in Steph's new look.

Looking fairly different in recent days, members of the public definitely didn't hold back when critiquing the reality star's new appearance, with some appearing to voice concern and others slamming the look.

Comparing Stephanie to 60-year-old fashion designer Donatella Versace, one Instagram user wrote: "That's who it is!! Donnatella Versace mixed with the real life tiger tattoo man."

Instagram users definitely couldn't get on board with the former Hollyoaks star's decision to get hair extensions and shell out for lip fillers, with one follower writing: "No need for all that done to ur face." (sic)

"Wat she done to her lips or face she don't look same watever she did she didn't need to do omg (sic)" another member of the public added.

Having happily shared side by side shots of her newly plumped pout on Instagram over the weekend, we doubt Stephanie will care what the public think!

When news broke last week that Vernon Kay had been back in contact with the woman he had been caught sexting back in 2010, rumours began circulating that not only was Vernon and his wife Tess Daly's marriage in jeopardy, but Rhian's relationship with Oliver Mellor was officially on the rocks.

Reporting on the story, The Mirror claimed that a source close to Rhian and her fiancé Oliver, who is best known for his three-year stint on Coronation Street as Dr. Matt Carter, had revealed that all was not well in the Mellor/ Sugden camp following the revelations.

"They didn't speak for the majority of last week as Oliver was ignoring Rhian's calls. He was angry and had been questioning their relationship," the insider reportedly claimed. "When he eventually did pick up the phone, they had a huge row and Oliver broke up with her."

Well, it looks like there's more to that story then meets the eye, with Oliver taking to Twitter to slam the reports and prove that he and 29-year-old Rhian are as steady as ever.

Uploading a shot of the pair snuggled up in bed, Oliver tagged Mirror Celeb before writing: "If your 'story' is true then who the f**k is this in my bed?"

Unfortunately it looks like Oliver's post has backfired with social media users taking to Twitter in their droves to scorn the couple's relationship, with one writing: "Certainly not something to brag about. What a sucker!"

"You're a mug…wouldn't be proud of that in bed next to me that's for sure," wrote another Twitter user in response to Oliver's irate post.

It looks like this one isn't going to go away for quite some time.

When Kesha took to Instagram last night to reveal she had been asked to retract her claims against Dr. Luke in order to secure her freedom from Sony, fans took to social media in their droves to support the 29-year-old recording artist.

However, it looks like Dr. Like's people aren't going to take the star's recent claims lying down and have hit back at the Tik Tok singer, dubbing her allegations 'false'.

Speaking to Billboard, a representative for Dr. Like – the music producer accused of emotionally, sexually and physically abusing the star – said: "Kesha’s Instagram posting is false. The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims."

"That's because all the evidence – including Kesha's own videotaped sworn testimony – show her allegations are false," they continued in light of the star's Instagram post which has racked up a whopping 122,000 likes since its upload last night.

"The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered into new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this 'incident' supposedly happened," they asserted.

Claiming that the We R Who We R singer is motivated by the prospect of financial gain, the music producer's spokesperson continued: "Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones."

Having told fans she never wants 'to lie for a monster ever again', it looks like Kesha is facing further heartbreak, with the representative concluding: "We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies."

This looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better.

The thought of someone creeping around your home is the stuff of nightmares (and Wes Craven movies obvs), and yet there's something about this CCTV footage of a recent home invasion which has the internet in absolute stitches today.

Uploaded to Facebook by the Counties Manukau Police in New Zealand last night, the short clip shows an unidentified man creeping through a family home desperately attempting to conceal his identity with the help of a child's duvet.

Explaining the circumstances surrounding the bizarre footage, Manuka Police wrote: "Sergeant John Roberts of the Counties Manukau Police Tactical Crime Unit says the male has covered himself with a duvet and crawled around the house stealing a number of items including cash and jewellery."

While authorities obviously hoped the public would be of assistance in this case, it looks like social media users were more concerned with making hilarious pop culture references than performing their civic duty.

"Using the blanket to cover himself like its the invisible coat off Harry Potter, it worked though," wrote one while another joked: "I think it was the Ghost of Christmas Past."

We know we shouldn't laugh – and believe us, we tried not to – but that crab-walk finally got us.

We need your help to identify the male in this video who carried out a burglary in Dannemora on the morning of March 20 2016. Sergeant John Roberts of the Counties Manukau Police Tactical Crime Unit says the male has covered himself with a duvet and crawled around the house stealing a number of items including cash and jewellery. The offender has been caught on internal CCTV footage. Police are looking for a male Caucasian, aged in his 20s, and of slim build.Any information on who this person is can be provided to Sergeant John Roberts on 09 261 1300 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Thanks

We might know her for her wacky role in Bridesmaids and her comedic timing in Pitch Perfect, but it seems Rebel Wilson is only dying to get her teeth into a meatier role, and it looks like she'll be channelling her inner Adele to do it.

According to emerging reports, the 36-year-old Aussie is set to play the Someone Like You singer in an upcoming biopic, and is on the edge of her seat until everyone's favourite Londoner grants the actress her blessing.

Giving an insight into Rebel's dream career path, a source close to the star told the Daily Star: "Rebel has always wanted to prove she can cut it as a serious actress. She knows that she can’t go on playing wacky fatgirl roles forever."

"She thinks that this role could be the making of her career and transform her into a major movie star," they continued. "This is going to be a huge challenge for her because Adele is a legend at the peak of her popularity."

While we all know Rebel can hold a note or two. Adele's loyal fans will need to know the actress can do their idol justice in the rags to riches story – something which Rebel reportedly insists won't be a problem.

Speaking on behalf of the actress, the insider continued: "Rebel can’t match Adele’s vocal talents but she can certainly sing. And with a little technical wizardry, she’ll sound just like her in the movie."

Rebel as Adele? We could get on board….

We're going to be honest here, the teacup ride is about as hardcore as we get when we decide to kick up our heels and spend the day at an amusement park.

So, we're not quite sure how we feel about a brand new exhibit which is giving people in Shanghai the opportunity to experience death, cremation and re-birth for a cool $68.

Open to the general public from today, the Samadhi Death Simulator gives people who are fascinated by the process of death the chance to experience it without, you know, actually dying.

Commenting on the attraction which will see users brought through an oven where they are cremated before remerging through a 'womb' chute, its founder Ding Rui said: "When we do not fully understand and take in death, saying goodbye is really quite a complicated and difficult task."

Only dying to give people (See, what we did there?) the chance to experience the process without having to deal with the paperwork and whatnot, Ding said: "As one approaches the moment just before they they face death, they don't have to think about these problems constantly."

And if dying and being reborn wasn't enough for you, you, ya lucky thing, can even bring home 'your last words' as a souvenir.

We're OK, thanks.
