underwear

As well as being one of the biggest DJs in the world, he's well-known for his stints as an underwear model.

And it seems that Calvin Harris could bag yet more work in front of the camera – if he can convince his girlfriend Taylor Swift to join him.

The sweetener? The couple is being offered a cool €9m to strip off and bare (pretty much) all.

Putting the cash on the table is once again Armani; the brand whom Calvin worked with previously and also the same label that got Victoria and David Beckham to star in their own intimate shoot a few years ago.

There could be a bonus too: word is that if the campaign is globally successful, Taylvin Swariss will be entitled to bag an additional €18m via a promotional tour.

There's certainly no denying that 25-year-old US singer-songwriter Ms Swift and 31-year-old Scottish composer Mr Harris are pretty much the hottest coupling going right now.

Indeed, as a source told the Daily Star: "Calvin's adverts have done really well and helped the brand reach a different audience." They added: "The offer is on the table and it is now up to Taylor's team to see if it is the right thing to do for her image."

According to Forbes, the duo brought in €130m last year and are now the most powerful couple in the world – bigger than even Beyonce and JayZ.

The future of farting has arrived, thanks to new clothing brand Shreddies. It involves a whole array of clothing that means you can fart in public without the embarrassment.

Shreddies have designed a range of underwear for men and women which they have named "flatulence filtering garments."

These items of clothing cover up any odour as the "garments feature an activated carbon lining that absorbs all flatulence odours, they become trapped and neutralised by the cloth which is then reactivated after washing." As for the sound of the fart, they haven't gotten that far quite yet.

The brand touts a pair of Shreddies as the "perfect gift," but we think our friends might be a tad insulted if that's what we handed them for their next birthday.

Shreddies have now expanded to include a range of "flatulence jeans" for men and women, if you don't trust the underwear alone.

The jeans cost €90 and promise to leave you smelling fresh as they give you "more freedom to enter social situations."

But that's not all. If you're worried about overnight odours, Shreddies has you covered in that department too. They have a new line of flatulence pyjamas which look really comfy while having the odour eliminating technology too.

Charming.

Chinese shops have apparently started selling underwear peaches as novelty gifts.

The peaches which are known as “When the honey peach Ripens” in Mandarin – were sold in preparation for China’s Valentine’s Day on August 2nd.

The images of the underwear have become such a viral hit, that the creator Mr. Yao has reportedly applied for a patent for the underwear peaches.

They may be popular but they’re not cheap, as a box of underwear peaches (nine peaches) costs $80. Hmmm, we think we’ll stick to a normal box of fruit, thanks.

No one really likes trying on intimate items in a shop – God knows who’s been trying it on before you – but we take some comfort in the little protective strip that is meant to protect us from germs.

Not anymore.

Philip Tierno, a clinical professor of microbiology and pathology at New York University’s School of Medicine has conducted research on the matter, and he found out that swimsuits, underwear and other intimate items were covered in skin, fecal and respiratory tract bacteria, and worst of all? Vaginal organisms like yeast.

He also found that the classiness of the shop doesn’t matter, it’s the skimpiness of the knickers that really makes the difference. Apparently, the skimpier the underwear, the more likely women are to take off their own knickers to try it on.

However, Tierno says: “The good thing is that most people have a very robust immune system, so they can usually fight off the small number of organisms they may get on their body. The fact that you come into contact with one doesn’t mean you’re going to get sick.”

If you want to make sure you DEFINITELY don’t get sick from going on the hunt for the perfect bikini, Tierno says there are some things you can do:

  • Keep your knickers on! And wash it when you get home.
  • Wash your swim suit or underwear after you’ve bought it – even if the protective strip is still on it.
  • Wash your hands after trying on the intimates.

While we’re all for mixing it up in the underwear department, the “c-string” might be taking it a bit too far.

The “c-string” is apparently the solution to, well, if you think that thongs weren’t revealing enough for you.

The “c-string” apparently works thanks to the back wire, which helps keep the invisible underwear in place.

It also comes in a variety of colours, if you were interested in purchasing one for yourself, even though we can’t imagine them to be very comfortable to wear.

We’re just hoping this is one underwear trend that doesn’t catch on!

There has been uproar over Beyoncé’s ‘100 most influential people’ Time magazine cover!

It’s one of the most sought-after magazine covers of the year, and Queen Bey was one of the people chosen for the famed spot.

But it seems people are outraged over the outfit chosen for the Drunk in Love singer for the cover shoot –  or lack of it rather!

Twitter was flooded with fuming comments not long after the magazine hit shelves last week.

“Couldn’t Beyoncé have worn clothes for her cover?” said one.

“Beyoncé…most influential person of 2014. Great, well done. But why does she have to be in her underwear?” tweeted another.

“I absolutely LOVE Beyonce but that outfit is SO Miley Cyrus,” pointed out one fan.

“Thigh-high boots, corsets, the teeniest of short shorts may be Beyoncé’s look du jour, but do they really have a place on Time magazine’s cover?” wrote blogger Brogan Driscoll on the Huffington Post.

“IMO it looks really sleazy and slutty and she is a mother that needs to be a better role model,” wrote another blogger.

Yikes!

The other cover stars are Robert Redford, the NBA’s first openly gay athlete Jason Collins, and General Motors CEO Mary Barra – all of whom are fully clothed.

Previously the list has been criticised for being dominated by men and this year includes 41 women, seven of whom are either actresses, singers or models.

Of that 25%:

  • 13% would wear underwear “occasionally”
  • 5% “once a week”
  • 7% go commando “all the time”
