Private Practice

Former Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice star Kate Walsh has decided to open up about why she won’t be starting a family in the future.

The 48-year old actress explained that after her divorce in 2001 from film executive Alex Young, she felt “like a loser” for not having kids.

At the time she said she had always imagined she would be married with three or four kids by now but said “I definitely don’t want to do it on my own.”

In her latest interview with SiriusXM she said that going through early menopause has meant her dream of having children was put to rest.

“I don’t have children. I’m not going to have kids. I went through early menopause. That happened.”

Kate said that her older sister went through early menopause and told her she needed to go see her doctor. While the actress said it was not something she had planned on doing, she eventually went along:

“It was bleak. But that was a great kind of experience and growth,” she said.

“I’ve always felt I’ve been, at times in my life, indecisive or have hard times making decisions. I go for what I want and I also embrace what’s in front of me.”

Kate also added that the notion of "having it all" is a huge myth.

“I don’t know if you can actually have it all. I think that is actually this American myth. I wouldn’t call it a dream,” she commented.

“I think it’s a bit of a myth in that it’s this huge pressure. We’re like, ‘Wait a minute, am I less than if I’m not a mother? If I’m not a rock star in my career?’"

Nicholas Brendon, the actor who played Xander on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, has checked into rehab following a number of brushes with the law.

A statement was posted to the 44 year-old actor's Facebook page by his manager, Andrea Albin, explaining the why the move is needed.

“Earlier today, with the support of his professional team, his friends, and his family, Nicky entered a rehabilitation facility in California to treat his depression, alcoholism, and substance abuse problems.

"He’s taking the steps necessary to better his health and give himself, and his fans, the gift of a healthy lifestyle.”

Last month, the actor who is also known for his roles in Criminal Minds and Private Practice, was arrested for the third time this year alone, on public intoxication charges.

He was arrested in February on suspicion of grand theft and criminal mischief.

A month later he was arrested again for allegedly trashing a hotel room. Previously to that, he was arrested in October 2014 for malicious injury to property.

The statement further explained that “Nicky will not be attending any events during the months of June and July – but has plans to return to the circuit late summer after he has successfully completed his treatment program.”

Nicholas has already been admitted to rehab twice before, in 2004 and again in 2010.
