One Direction

It looks like Niall Horan could be set to return to Irish shores after reports suggest the former One Direction star has bought a house on a 10-acre site just outside his home town of Mullingar.

According to The Sunday Times, the six-bedroom house was originally put on the market for €1.6 million in 2011, however the asking price was slashed to €565,000 last year.

The lavish home boasts six reception rooms, six bedrooms, a games room and an outdoor swimming pool (though we're not sure how much use he'll get out of that in the Irish weather).

It's not clear whether or not the 23-year-old will make Mullingar his permanent home once again, as he already has property in Los Angeles and London.

Meanwhile, the Slow Hands singer will kick off his first solo tour at Dublin's Olympia Theatre next week and his debut album is expected to drop later this year.

He recently announced the support acts for the shows which include Gavin James, Picture This and Dublin band, Wild Youth.

We all remember Louis and Zayn's infamous Twitter spat of 2015, right?

The former One Direction bandmates famously fell out after Zayn Malik abruptly quit the group in the middle of a world tour, and one of the greatest bromance of our time came to an untimely end.

Digs were made, shade was thrown, and let's face it, things got pretty awkward for a while.

However, that's all in the past, and fans will be delighted to know that the feuding friends are finally “mates again.”

Speaking on Andy Cohen Live earlier this week, Louis Tomlinson opened up about where he and Zayn stand some two years after their headline-making fall out.

“We got back in touch with each other and kind of cleared the air and talked everything through. So we're mates again, I suppose,” he said.

“Like anything like that, it takes time. But it was nice that we had an opportunity to clear the air and be adults about it, I suppose.”

The admission comes after Louis revealed that his late mother, Johannah Deakin, urged him to reconnect with his old friend, insisting “life's too short.”

"My mum said, 'You've got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life's too f–king short. A mother's intuition is just f–king crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted,” he said told The Sun earlier last month.

Now that they have put all that bad blood behind them, we're hoping the guys can re-establish their tight bond, and perhaps even work together in the future.

So, One Direction may have gone their seperate ways, but unlike the classic boyband splits that came before them, there's no bad blood between the lads (well, for the most part).

During a recent interview on Australian radio station Nova 100, Niall Horan gushed over fomer band mate, Louis Tomlinson, and even credited him with saving One Direction, insisting that they would have 'lost the plot' without him in the band.

"He's an unbelievable guy, a great singer and someone that, if, I'd say, we would have lost the plot along the way if we hadn't had Louis," he told the host.

"He was a very, very, very extremely vital member of One Direction. He's a great man."

His comments come after Louis spoke about how he struggled to find his place in the band.

Speaking to The Observer, Louis opened up about feeling insecure and walking in the shadows of the other band members.

"The others have always been… Like Niall, for example. He's the most lovely guy in the world. Happy-go-lucky Irish, no sense of arrogance. And he's fearless. There are times I've thought, 'I'd have a bit of that," he said.

"Zayn, back in the day. He could relate to me on a nerves level. Liam always had a good stage presence, same as Harry… Then there's me."

Louis recently sent fans inot a frenzy when he announced his new single Back to You, and he is also said to be working on putting togther a new girlband with former maganger, Simon Cowell.

At the height of One Direction's fame, Louis Tomlinson appeared to be positively brimming over with confidence, but during a recent interview with The Observer, the Doncaster-native suggests that he was from from content with his position in the band.

In perhaps one of his most candid interviews to date, the 25-year-old revealed that he harboured massive insecurities – something which was exacerbated by his tendency to compare himself to fellow band members.

Reflecting on their initial performances as a five-piece, Louis said: "You know I didn’t sing a single solo on the X Factor. A lot of people can take the p*ss out of that."

Admitting that he regularly questioned his place in the band, Louis recalls thinking: "What have I really done to contribute here? Sing a lower harmony that you can’t really hear in the mix?"

"The others have always been… Like Niall, for example. He’s the most lovely guy in the world," Louis said. "Happy-go-lucky Irish, no sense of arrogance. And he’s fearless. There are times I’ve thought: “I’d have a bit of that."

Opening up about the relationship he shared with Zayn, Louis explained that he sought comfort in him, saying: "He could relate to me on a nerves level."

"In the first year we were both the least confident. But Zayn has a fantastic voice and for him it was always about owning that."

Turning his attention to Liam and Harry, Louis paid tribute to their showmanship and their ability to work an audience – traits he envied.

"Liam always had a good stage presence, same as Harry, they’ve both got that ownership. Harry comes across very cool. Liam’s all about getting the crowd going, doing a bit of dancing.. and then there's me." he said.

By comparing himself to his bandmates, Louis admitted that he often felt out of his depth and presumed that the public simply saw him as "the kid wearing espadrilles, stood in the back."

And to think we always considered him one of the most confident members…

Following the death of Harry Styles' stepfather, Robin Twist, this week, the singer's former bandmates have reached out to their friend as he comes to terms with Robin's passing.

Taking to social media, Liam, Niall and Louis paid tribute to Robin and offered their condolences to Harry who acted as Robin's Best Man at his wedding to Harry's mother in 2013.

Sharing a beautiful shot of Harry's mother alongside her late husband, Liam wrote: "Harry my heart really goes out to you such an extremely sad day for us all who knew Robin."

"What a kind, gentle and beautiful soul, a true rarity to find in today's world. Sometimes they really do take the best of us far too soon," he concluded.

Niall chose to share the same image while paying tribute to a man who was clearly much loved by all those in the One Direction camp.

"Very sad to hear about the loss of Robin," Niall began in a post which has been liked more than 1,000,000 times since its upload yesterday.

"For those who had the pleasure of knowing Robin will know that he was the nicest , kindest, most generous , hilariously funny guy you'll have met," Niall continued. "He always had a smile on his face even when he was battling the terrible illness."

Turning his attention to his friend, Niall added: "Love ya H. Please give your mum and the rest of the family a massive hug from my family."

Louis, who shared a particularly close friendship with Harry during their days in One Direction, took to Twitter to offer his condolences.

"Devastated to hear the news about Robin. He was the such a lovely kind and funny guy. Sending all my love to the whole family. You'll be missed mate."

Robin died after losing his battle with cancer.

With all of their congratulations on social media, Liam Payne has revealed that his One Direction bandmates still haven't met his son Bear.

Bear was born in March of this year, and The Sun is reporting that the lads have been showering him with gifts to make up their absenses.

Liam told the publication: "I mean, no one’s been over and seen him yet but I'm sure we'll make time.

"Niall bought him some trainers actually, which was really kind of him. Harry sent me some flowers, which was really nice."

And when talking about his home life, Liam said he's thankful to have Cheryl with him now.

"She's an amazing performer and if there’s a dance move she’ll be like ‘yeah, can you do this a bit more like this way’ she gets into it, it’s a lot of fun.

A post shared by Cheryl (@cherylofficial) on

"It’s nice to have someone who’s a pro at home to tell you."

He also admitted that Baby Bear is already listening to music, and loves one of his songs in particular.

"There was a song of mine that I was going through my album this morning, picking up songs and seeing ones I still like, and there's a little 'woohoo' in one of the songs and he was literally laughing his head off, he loved it."

So cute!

We're loving the independent musical offerings from Zayne, Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall at the moment.

But that doesn't mean we'd be opposed to a One Direction reunion in the future.

And it seems that Irish 1D front man Niall Horan isn't hating on the idea either, much to our delight.

A post shared by Niall Horan (@niallhoran) on

'I told my managers from the start: When One Direction comes knocking, fook what I’m doing,' the Mullingar man told Billboard.

'I don’t give a shit if I sold out arenas or won Grammys. I wouldn't’t be doing this if it wasn't’t for that.'

The star confirmed to Billboard that the band are in touch on the reg, but that they 'haven’t even had a conversation about' how long the 1D break will be.

Don't despair One Directioners, as Niall expressed a wish for the reunion to happen sooner rather than later.

'When it will be, I don’t know,"' he said.

'I prefer not to do it after I’m 40. I'd prefer the next few years.'

We'll be waiting with baited breath!

Former One Direction star, Niall Horan recently opened up about his love life (or lack there of) and denied claims that he is dating Selena Gomez's best friend, Courtney Barry.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, the Mullingar man explained how he's happy enough to stay home alone on a Saturday night.

"At the moment, I'm enjoying being 23. I only get one go at me twenties. I'd like to give it me best go,'' he said.

"I’m happy to go home alone on a Saturday night, drink and watch football."

However, Niall did reveal that he reckons he's experienced love twice before, but admits "it could have been lust."

"I think I got a type, anyway – Dark hair, dark eyes. Someone I can see as a friend."

Sound like you?

The Slow Hands singer then went on to explain his theory of ''Irish ignorance'', revealing that despite his multi-million fortune, his father still refuses to let Niall buy him a new home.

"I always say there’s ignorance and there’s Irish ignorance. It’s on a different level," he said.

"He’ll barely take a Christmas present off me. He doesn't’t want any of it. He just wants me to come visit."

When asked if he plans to return to Mullingar, Niall joked that he's too busy to permanently reside anywhere right now.

"I might as well not live anywhere – I’m busy all year."

Niall's new single, Slow Hands, hit number one on the Billboard chart earlier this month.

Niall Horan is a national treasure, but he's been looking across the channel for a potential love match.

Gerodie Shore's Marnie Simpson, who recently went through a break up with her ex Lewis Bloor, has been sliding into the 1D star's DMs, but Niall isn't the only one she's been corresponding with.

Marnie has also gotten chatting to X Factor singer James Arthur.

A post shared by Marnie. (@marniegshore) on

"I’ve been speaking to them. We’ve said hello and I’ve spoken over DMs with both of them," the Geordie star told The Sun.

The Mullingar man is a fan of the show, according to Marnie, and the pair have been chatting about it, though Marnie insists that it is just "friendly."

Marnie is still separated  from Lewis Bloor after it was revealed that her cheated on her.

We think Niall is a much better option, Marns.

Donald Trump clearly isn't a fan of One Direction, after he removed them from one of his hotels.

The President kicked the boy band out after they refused to meet his daughter.

This revelation comes courtesy of band member Liam Payne, who let the news slip in an interview with Rollacoaster.

A post shared by Liam Payne (@liampayne) on

Liam said that the POTUS phoned their room asking if they'd be happy to meet his daughter (either Ivanka or Tiffany, it's not clear which one), and their manager declined on the basis that the boys were asleep.

“Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once. You wouldn’t believe it. It was about his daughter. He phoned up our manager and we were asleep," said the star.

"He said ‘well, wake them up’ and I was like ‘no’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage."

"Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless for us. So he was like, ‘OK, then I don’t want you in my hotel.’ So we had to leave.”

That's definitely not the best hospitality service, Trump!

They may have decided to momentarily press pause on the One Direction journey, but that doesn't mean the lads from the biggest boy band in the world didn't absolutely rake it in over the last 12 months.

According to Forbes, who provides the public with an annual list of the world's highest-earning celebrities, Niall, Louis, Liam and Harry, who rose to fame on The X Factor in 2010, were Europe's highest paid celebrities in 2016.

Yep, that's right – despite going on hiatus, the four lads raked in a staggering $110 million last year.

The earnings, which came from endorsements with Colgate and Pepsi in addition to the last leg of their On The Road Again tour, meant that they pipped footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, and our beloved Adele to the post when it came to bank balances.

The calculations are based on a number of rankings from organisations such as Nielsen, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick and IMDB.
