Female celebrities have been taking to social media in their droves to offer support to singer Kesha, who is currently locked in a legal battle with her record company, Sony – and in tuyrn her former producer Dr. Luke.

One star in particular – Taylor Swift – took her support one step further and quietly donated a whopping €225,000 towards her court fees.

While Kesha's own mother was quick to thank T-Swift for her large donation, not everyone was quite so happy with the singer's decision.

Demi Lovato took to Twitter minutes after the news broke, hitting back at Taylor's decision to donate rather than publicly speak out about Kesha's claims that Dr Luke abused his professional relationship her drugging and raping her shortly after her 18th birthday.

"'Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed," she wrote.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, Demi went on to defend herself against the (unsurprising) wrath of Taylor's fans, one of whom accused her of making the drama about herself.

"How the f**k am I making this about myself? At least I'm talking about it," she replied.

"Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn't grow up with money and def haven't made as much as her. At least I speak up about s*** that's uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7.

"There's no "rivalry" I just give more f**ks than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person."

Ouch. As yet there's no word from Taylor on this, but we reckon she'll be taking the high road and staying silent.

A number of high profile celebs have come forward to support Kesha on social media after her tragic court ruling last Friday.

And while most of her supporters are hashtagging and supporting her with kind words, Taylor Swift decided to do something a bit different.

The singer was called out for not raising her voice, but Tay did much more than that – she donated $250,000 (€225,000) towards her legal fees.

"In a show of support, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time," a spokesperson told E! News.

Last night, Kesha's mother even spoke out to thank Taylor, saying, "Taylor Swift has just generously donated $250,000 to Kesha, as a show of support during this difficult time. AMAZING!!" she tweeted.

So, is Taylor some sort of angel? We beginning to think so.

Have you been wondering why you haven't had any more delectable pop tunes from Tik Tok singer Kesha?

Well it's because she simply can't release any more music for the time being.

The 28-year-old is currently embroiled in a complex court case as she battles to be released from her recording contract with music moguls Sony.

Through Sony, Kesha worked with producer Dr. Luke whom Kesha claims abused his professional relationship with the star by drugging and raping her shortly after her 18th birthday.

The popular singer was seen weeping yesterday as a judge ruled that her 6-album contract with Sony is to be upheld.

This means that Kesha cannot release any music outside of her dealings with Sony which have obviously turned incredibly sour.

The hit record producer, who has worked with the likes of Jessie J and Katy Perry in the past, never faced charges over the incident and Kesha fears that the record company will not promote her music properly if she does not work with their biggest hitmaker, which is of course Dr. Luke.

Celebs have been quick to rally around Kesha in what is set to become a lengthy battle with the record label and the hashtag #freekesha is gaining traction on social media.

Last week. Johnny Depp took some time out of his Black Mass Oscar buzz to rock it in Hollywood.

The actor joined his bandmates from Hollywood Vampires on stage at the LA hotspot, Roxy.

The actor hung back onstage with understated control of his instrument, allowing band members Cooper and Perry to have the limelight, while he played in the background.

There were many surprise guests on the night, including Marilyn Manson, who pulled the actor to the front of the stage. Later the rocker lulled Johnny in and kissed his neck, leaving a very noticeable  mark on Johnny for the rest of the concert.

Later, Kesha made an additional cameo, taking the stage in a black coat and top hat, wowing the crowd with her rendition of Whole Lotta Love.

The band bounced around from playing frontman Cooper’s own songs to John Lennon to Black Sabbath to the Doors and more.

Since last night, the hashtag #FreedomForKesha has been trending worldwide, and some people are curious as to why exactly that happened.

Yes, I'm obviously talking about Kesha (that's what the post is titled and that's why you clicked lol)... BUT SERIOUSLY, our lack of Kesha is problematic.

Kesha has not released any new music since 2012.

Although at the time aside from the single Die Young, her album didn’t appear to make much of an impact in the first place. This was largely viewed as a result of her working with producer Dr. Luke.

Fans even set up a petition that aimed to release the singer from her contract with the producer as he was holding her back creatively. That year Kesha told Rolling Stone:

“What’s been put out as singles have just perpetuated a particular image that may or may not be entirely accurate.”

Two years later Kesha went to a rehab facility in order to recover from an eating disorder. Her mother later revealed on Twitter that her daughter was suffering from bulimia and Dr Luke was part of the problem.

In October 2014, Kesha filed a law suit against the producer in order to be released from her contract with him. The suit also alleged that she suffered “mental manipulation, emotional abuse and sexual assault” while working with Dr Luke.

He claimed she was trying to extort him and since then Kesha has been stuck in a legal battle unable to release any music. Court documents released this week had her attorneys saying that she is facing a “point of no return.”

Since then her fans have taken over social media in efforts to show their solidarity with Kesha.

Dr. Luke’s spokesperson said:

“As long as she continues to stand by her false claims of abuse against Dr. Luke and remains in breach of her contracts, he will continue to protect his professional and personal reputation.”

Despite selling an estimated 60million albums globally, she has struggled with body insecurities since finding fame at the age of 21.

Indeed, it's an issue she's been refreshingly open about.

However, appearing yesterday at the Los Angeles Pride, Kesha sparked waves of 'did she/didn't she' surgery rumours – namely because of the shapely derriere she sported.

Wearing a skin-tight, glittering leotard for the performance, she teamed the outfit with knee-high black patent leather boots.

Previously, images of the singer show her with a noticeably different shape – though she has yet to confirm or deny the speculation.

Kesha was admitted to a rehab facility in January of last year for treatment of an eating disorder.

The 28-year-old has said that the music industry sets "unrealistic expectations for what a body is supposed to look like".

She added: "I felt like people were always lurking, trying to take pictures of me with the intention of putting them up online or printing them in magazines and making me look terrible."

And in a 2013 interview with Self magazine, in which she stated that she doesn't have "a perfect body," she further explained: 'For me, I like showing off my legs because I work really hard on them.

"So you will rarely find me wearing pants."

However, she admitted that she refuses to weigh herself: "I stay far away from a scale because it's not about a number, it's about how I feel. I try to eat healthy because it makes me feel good."

The LA-native also filed a sexual assault civil suit against music producer Dr Luke, someone she once cited as a mentor, in October.

It is alleged that in the past Dr Luke had drugged her and forced himself on her, threatened to take away her publishing rights and constantly belittled her appearance.

The case is ongoing.

It seems we don't hear much about Kesha these days, but luckily the 28-year-old is now much healthier after seeking treatment for an eating disorder in 2014.

She has now opened up to Vogue about about that difficult time in her life.

She said: "“I’ve had a lot of ups and downs, it’s been quite a journey. I went to a dark place. There was a lot of not eating.”

The Tik Tok singer went on to say how things worsened as others thought she was looking better: “I started to think being hungry to the point of feeling almost faint was a positive thing. The worse it got, the more positive feedback I was getting. Inside I was really unhappy, but outside, people were like, ‘Wow, you look great.'"

Kesha said she felt very unhappy, despite her upbeat music: “I was singing these songs like ‘We R Who We R’…But I was sad and [I wasn’t eating]. That’s not good for your body, metabolism, or brain. I talked to my therapist, and she said, ‘I think it’s time we take a moment to address this.’"

"I called my mom one night and I told her, ‘I need help’ I went to an eating-disorder specific rehab site where a nutritionist taught me that food is a positive thing for your body. I realized being healthy is the most important thing I can do for myself. Now, I’m trying to embrace the skin I’m in.”

She chooses to "make the choice to be kind" to herself everyday and said: "This is who I am. I have to love that."

We are so glad to hear that Kesha is on the road to recovery and we wish her all the best.

She tends to always leave a trail of controversy in her wake, but we think Lily Allen may have gone too far this time.

The singer has come in for major criticism today after dressing up as “Dr Luke”, in an apparent reference to the producer who has been accused of mentally and sexually abusing singer Kesha.

The mother-of-two was seen smirking as she stepped out last night in blue scrubs, with a name badge reading “Dr Luke” pinned to her top pocket.

Even if this wasn’t intentional, this was definitely a bad and insensitive move on Lily’s part.

Dr Luke – aka music producer Lukasz Gottwold – has been accused of sexually, physically and mentally abusing Kesha for a ten-year period after she signed a record deal with his label, at the age of 18.

Last week the Tik Tok singer filed a lawsuit against the producer, with court documents detailing the abuse.

The 27-year-old singer claims that Gottwold also forced her to take drugs and alcohol, and was a major factor in her issues with her body image.

It’s safe to say that Lily hasn’t impressed anyone with this outfit.

Kesha is suing her former producer over a number of serious allegations.

The singer is taking a case against her mentor, known as Dr. Luke, for charges of sexual assault, sexual harassment, gender violence, civil harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

She claims the famed producer had been abusive towards her since she signed with him almost ten years ago. On one particular occasion, she recalls taking what Dr. Luke referred to as "sober pills," before waking up naked in his bed "sore and sick with no memory of how she got there."

The report goes on to say that after the incident, the music mogul "threatened that if [Kesha] ever mentioned the rape to anyone, he would shut her career down, take away all her publishing and recording rights, and otherwise destroy not only her life but her entire family’s lives as well. He also threatened her and her family’s physical safety."

Dr. Luke denies all allegations, which also refer to a number of occasions when he verbally attacked Kesha's weight, calling her a "fat f**king refrigerator." The star entered rehab earlier this year for an eating disorder – something she claims was directly related to her producer's repeated negative comments about her appearance.

The singer also says she feared for her safety around Dr. Luke – citing one incident when she escaped his Malibu home and ran barefoot down a motorway to hide from him, after he began acting violently toward her.

The controversy began last year, when fans began petitioning for Kesha to be released from Dr. Luke's "evil grasp," claiming he was stifling her creativity.

The producer has filed a counter-case, saying the allegations are all lies created by Kesha's new management firm and her mother Pebe Sebert.

He also states that Kesha threatened him with the lawsuit months ago in the hope that she would be released from her exclusive contract with his company.

Kesha is a crazy kid – we all know this. But was she crazy to let herself be seen without a scratch of make-up?

Nah – not at all! She looks better than ever!

The star posted her make-up free selfie yesterday, for no other reason, it seems, than to show us all that she doesn’t need to paint her face to look good. Meow, indeed.

Still – we do love Kesha’s extravagant make-up from time to time, for example, her blue lipstick was interesting:

Or the glitter all over one side of her face.

Or stripes all down her face.

Her bejeweled eyebrows looked pretty cool.

And she was quite a fan of painting a star around her eye for a while too.

Hmmm… on second thoughts, maybe she should go with the natural look more often!

In a moving essay for Elle Magazine, Kesha has spoken about her eating disorder as well as her time in rehab.

The Timber singer revealed in the weeks prior to her treatment, she said she felt that her whole body was “shutting down”, and knew it wasn’t because of her touring schedule. The singer admitted that she was worried about what people might think about her going to rehab.

"Sure, I've written songs about partying, but my dirty little secret is that I'm actually incredibly responsible. I take my music and career very seriously, and certainly didn't land in this situation from partying. But I was cut off from the outside world and I imagined people making up stories at a time when what I really needed was support."

The 27-year-old revealed that she felt pressurised by her job to be as skinny as possible.

"I've always tried to be a crusader for loving yourself, but I'd been finding it harder and harder to do personally. I felt like part of my job was to be as skinny as possible, and to make that happen, I had been abusing my body. I just wasn't giving it the energy it needed to keep me healthy and strong."

Kesha went on to criticise the music industry for the way it compares female artists to one another especially when it comes to their appearance. The singer said this only made things worse for her body insecurities.

"The music industry has set unrealistic expectations for what a body is supposed to look like, and I started becoming overly critical of my own body because of that. I felt like people were always lurking, trying to take pictures of me with the intention of putting them up online or printing them in magazines and making me look terrible. I became scared to go in public, or even use the internet. I may have been paranoid, but I also saw and heard enough hateful things to fuel that paranoia."

Kesha spent two months in rehab and felt she is able to focus more on her music because of it. The singer said sharing her story has been scary, but hopes that it will help other people facing similar issues.

"I'm not fully fixed—I am a person in progress—but I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Even I need to be reminded that we are who we are," she said. "And when I say that, I f–king mean it, now more than ever."

Kesha has opened up for the first time about going to rehab and battling her eating disorder.

The 27-year-old singer revealed that the constant public scrutiny and media commentary played a big part in her breakdown.

“I’m in an industry where people photograph your body and zoom in and blow it up and put it on the cover of magazines, and other people make terrible comments. It really messed with my head, and I realized I couldn’t do it by myself.”

Kesha went on to deny rumours which claimed that she went to rehab for substance abuse, but insisted her attendance was to help her overcome her eating disorder.

“Let’s just get the elephant out of the room. My eating disorder is something I’ve been struggling with for a while. People will make up stories, but I went to rehab for an eating disorder — nothing more and nothing less.”

Kesha went on to say that attending rehab was the “scariest thing she’s ever done” but believes it saved her life.

“The decision to take control of it is the scariest thing I’ve ever done. And this is coming from someone who dives with sharks and jumps out of airplanes for fun. To have a breakthrough you have to have a breakdown, and I definitely went through both of those — in hindsight, it saved my life.”

The Timber singer feels stronger after attending rehab and is ready to make more music.

“The whole process has made me so much stronger and ready to take my life by the horns and make a record that I’m going to be proud of and not care what anybody else thinks!”
