The #EElive week on EastEnders kicked off on Monday, with viewers hoping to finally find out who killed Lucy Beale.

However a fire on set last night meant the rest of the week's shows could have been left in jeopardy.

Last night's show finished with a live cliffhanger between Max Branning and his daughter Abi. A possible fluff in actor Jake Wood (Max)'s lines led many to believe that Abi could be behind Lucy's murder, with uncertainty over whether he was meant to say "She knows who killed Lucy" or "She knows YOU killed Lucy."

As if that ending wasn't dramatic enough, just hours later, a fire started in one of the buildings on the show's Albert Square set, causing damage to its floor and roof.

Luckily firemen were able to contain the blaze, meaning there was minimal damage to the set as a whole, and producers have assured viewers that the live shows will still go ahead.

"There was a very small fire on set on Tuesday night after rehearsals had finished. It has not affected any #EELive week plans and nobody was harmed." It's unclear how the blaze started but it was apparently contained quite quickly.

For the sake of our own sanity, we REALLY hope this week's shows go ahead as planned!

As for Max's "who/you" drama, actor Jake Wood took to Twitter to emphasise that he did indeed mean to say "you":

Oooh… the plot thickens!

While we all wait with baited breath and try to conjure up any bit of patience left in us before Thursday, we took a look back at some other soap storylines that had us hooked.

1. Lucy Beale’s murder (EastEnders)
This storyline deserves first place for the freaky trailers alone – Lucy's eyes are haunting us! Only three more days…

2. Tram crash 2010 (Coronation Street)
One of the most terrifying moments in soap history – just when you think it's all ok, BAM and Ken spots a tram. It took us ages to get back on the Luas after this.

3. Richard Hillman-gate (Coronation Street)
His iciness alone was enough to make us feel for Gail. And when the car went into the water…that was intense TV.

4. When Ronnie stole Kat Moon’s baby (EastEnders)
It took FOUR months for Ronnie to finally tell Kat the truth – and it was a loooong four months!

5. Tina’s murder (Coronation Street)
It missed the 'whodunnit' aspect of Lucy Beale's murder but it has to be said, waiting for justice to be served was tense!

Things got pretty hot and heavy on Twitter last night after EastEnders' Peter Beale (Ben Hardy) took his shirt off during a scene with Lauren, played by Jacqueline Jossa.

It didn’t take long for the actor’s name to start trending on Twitter, for obvious reasons…!

Some people were so shocked, they did the unthinkable…

While others finally found the perfect reason for their soap addiction:

Peter Beale took on a whole new persona for some fans…

And people forgot all about Lucy's murder for just five minutes (in order to appreciate one of her potential murderers!)

Sadly for Ben’s fans, and new ones that he found last night, he is set to quit the soap shortly after his on-screen sister Lucy’s killer is revealed.

Ben first appeared on Albert Square back in June 2013, replacing Thomas Law who previously played Peter Beale.

It has been revealed that TV presenter and actress Denise Van Outen will be joining the cast of EastEnders!

Denise has starred in many British TV shows such as The Big Breakfast, Strictly Come Dancing and is also the narrator of The Only Way Is Essex – but EastEnders will mark her first soap.

The actress is naturally delighted with her new challenge, saying: “I’m really excited to be joining EastEnders as I’ve been a fan of the series for many years. 2015 marks the show’s 30th anniversary, so it feels even more special to be part of this year’s celebration.”

EastEnders bosses are not letting anything out when it comes to the type of character Denise will be playing, saying only that she will send ‘sparks flying’ –ooh!

It’s also unknown if Denise’s character will remain a permanent fixture on the square, with executive producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins saying it is for a ‘few episodes’: “It was only a matter of time before Denise Van Outen walked onto the Square. We cannot wait to have Denise join us for a few episodes, where she will definitely make her presence felt.”

It's the storyline that's had us all gripped for months, and now Eastenders fans are finally going to find out who murdered Lucy Beale almost a year ago.

A new teaser trailer for the show's upcoming 30th anniversary episode has been released, with a "week of revelations" set to begin on Monday 16th February.

The haunting clip features a number of spooky happening, from unexplained handprints to creaking swings, ending with Lucy Beale herself floating above the Square.

We know, right? FREAKY.

Lucy's father Ian, her twin Peter, stepmother Jane, Denise Fox, Max Branning, Abi Branning and Jay Brown are among those suspected – but the show's writers have managed to keep the killer's identity under wraps until now. A number of clues have been revealed over the last ten months, including one at last weeks National Television Awards – an audio clip of Oh What A Beautiful Mornin', supposedly the last thing Lucy heard before her death.

It's been SUCH a long wait, as this stage we just want to know who did it!

Former Eastenders star Daniella Westbrook is no stranger to drama. The 41-year-old, almost as famous for her cocaine addiction as her acting career, last week took to the famous This Morning sofa to open up about her most recent struggles.

Having suffered a drug relapse, split from her partner Tom Richards and learned that she had miscarried, the normally vivacious star looked and sounded completely distraught while appearing on the famous morning chat show.

Revealing that herself and her children were now living in sheltered accommodation, it certainly looked like the troubled star could do with a kind word or the support of a good friend.

Luckily Sid Owen, who played Ricky Butcher and starred opposite Daniella on and off for twenty years on the hit BBC soap, saw her distress and reached out to the struggling mum-of-two earlier today and it looks like it’s made the world of difference!

Taking to Twitter to express her gratitude, the grateful actress said: “@sidowen5 hearing your voice cheered me up no end x old friends make the best friends x”

Hopefully, the support of her former co-star will help to lift Daniella’s spirits at this hugely difficult time in her life.

There is worry for former EastEnders actress Elaine Lordan after she was spotted walking down a London street alone, drinking from a bottle of white wine. Elaine played the role of Lynn Slater on the soap from 2000 until 2004.

According to reports, the actress drank the half-bottle of wine in one go before dumping it in a bin and making her way home.

Elaine has suffered a lot of tragedy in her life, losing her mum and son James in 2005, with her dad passing three years later, in 2008. She has since admitted to suffering with alcohol abuse and depression shortly afterwards, which she was treated for.

We really hope she is doing okay and can get some help for any issues she may have.

It looks like EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa and her boyfriend have split following a telling tweet he posted last night.

The TOWIE star tweeted: “Relationships just do not seem to work.” Jacqueline is currently expecting the couple’s first child, so a break-up for them couldn’t come at a worse time.

Yesterday, the actress posted a tweet that read: “Let me make this easy for you”, which she then promptly deleted, sparking early speculation of issues in the relationship.

Things haven’t been easy for the couple during their time together, with Dan being accused of sending illicit photos to others girls back in September as well as being arrested just last week over an incident with his ex-girlfriend and mum of his son, Megan Tomlin.

Dan and Jacqueline announced back in August that they are expecting a baby, with the actress often sharing photos of her growing bump on social media. Let’s hope these two can work things out.

Barmaid Shirley Carter has had some ups and down during her time in Walford and it looks like the woman who plays her is no stranger to drama either.

Linda Henry, who joined the Eastenders cast eight years ago, is set to stand trial over accusations of racially aggravated harassment in an incident which is said to have taken place in September of this year. The actress has denied the accusation and is reportedly devastated over the upcoming trial.

The 51-year-old TV star decided not to attend her initial hearing, but has pleaded not guilty through her lawyer with a source telling The Sun newspaper: “Linda is horrified at the accusation and intends to fight it tooth and nail.”

The actress is adamant that she will clear her name and an insider has reported: “Those close to her know the truth and the type of person she is. She has never been in trouble before, has never been accused of this type of thing before and is determined to prove she is innocent of these deeply offensive claims.”

The incident apparently took place outside Jamie Oliver's Greenwich restaurant and the trial will begin in February of next year.

Daniella Westbrook and her ex-fiancé Tom Richards have found themselves in a spot of bother after a blazing row in a hotel led to his arrest!

The couple were said to have agreed to meet to discuss their relationship and whether things could work. However, the talk soon turned heated and the police were called, with Tom eventually being arrested.

Police in the area confirmed the arrest, saying: “A 25-year-old man was arrested at the Premier Inn at Stansted Airport on November 19 at 10.35pm on behalf of another force and in connection with an assault.”

Daniella and Tom have been known for having a very tempestuous relationship, and had previously had an on-street fight that saw the former EastEnders actress throw her phone at Tom.

It was also said that Danielle’s teenage son, Kai was also at the hotel where the incident occurred.

It looks set to be a very happy Christmas after all on Albert Square with this amazing proposal spoiler!

Peter Beale, played by Ben Hardy, is set to return to Walford from his trip to New Zealand and will ask Lauren to be his wife – aww!

As far as we can see from the released photo, Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) looks like she will most definitely say yes.

In true gentlemanly fashion, Peter first asked Max (Jake Wood) for his blessing to propose to his eldest daughter. At first Max is hesitant, but then agrees and even helps him set it all up.

Hmm, we wonder if this has anything to do with the way in which producers are going to deal with Jacqueline’s real-life pregnancy? Perhaps she and her new fiancé Peter will set sail for a happily ever after!
