Tom Clare has finally broken his silence on *those* romance rumours!

The 23-year-old found fame earlier this year on the winter series of Love Island. Tom and co-star Samie Elishi fell in love on the show and came in third place in the final, but subsequently announced their breakup one month after leaving the villa.

However, since confirming that their romance had come to an end, the pair have been facing speculation of a rekindling. Tom and Samie have remained close following their separation, and have even gone on holiday together.

Now, the former professional football player has taken the time to cryptically speak out about the speculation.

In a recent interview with The Sun about his rumoured reunion with Samie, Tom decided to give a teasing response.

"Me and Samie are on very good terms,” he stated.

"I do get a lot of female attention but I'm not interested – I know where my heart is at, let's put it that way,” he hinted further.

The reality star then went on to confirm that he is "happy" with his current romantic life, and even revealed that he would be going on holiday soon with someone special.

"I've got a few holidays coming up, but it's not with Casey," Tom joked, referring to one of his best friends and Love Island co-stars, Casey O’Gorman.

Towards the end of his interview, Tom expressed that he has been supporting Samie through her recent thyroid cancer diagnosis.

Two days after Tom confirmed their breakup, 22-year-old Samie uploaded a YouTube video in which she explained to her fanbase that she would soon be undergoing surgery to have half of her thyroid removed, as well as the lump she discovered.

"I'm there with her throughout it all – I'm supporting her 100 per cent,” Tom explained.

"Our friendship is still strong,” he concluded.

The final countdown to the Cork City Marathon is underway with thousands of runners and supporters set to descend on the city centre this Sunday morning.

Online registrations for the full marathon, half marathon and new 10k race closed at midnight last night but people can still register in-person at the Cork City Marathon Expo at the Concert Hall in City Hall on Friday from 12pm – 7pm and on Saturday from 11am – 6pm.

Organisers are looking forward to seeing a record number of participants out on the course. More than 12,500 runners from 37 countries have registered with over 4,000 runners travelling to Cork from outside the county for the weekend.

The fine weather seen in recent weeks is predicted to hold for the weekend and temperatures on Sunday morning are expected to be in the mid-teens. As a result, runners are being advised to follow a number of steps to protect themselves in the heat. Water stations will be available along the route and these can be found on the marathon map on the official Cork City Marathon website.

Dr. Jason Van der Velde is Chief Medical Officer for Cork City Marathon and he has the following advice:

  • Make sure to wear the high factor sunscreen you’ll be wearing on race day during any final training runs. There’s only one thing worse than a sunscreen you’re not used to dripping in your eyes and that’s visiting the medical tent with totally preventable sunburn.
  • Remember to eat and drink as you have done during your training. Now is not the time to change anything that’s been working for you so far.
  • On race day, there’s a tendency to over-drink, particularly on a sunny day. Overhydration, particularly with water, is far more dangerous than dehydration.
  • There will be a team of medics available on the day and if anyone has any concerns they should go directly to one of the stewards.

Dr. Van der Velde said; “Cork City Marathon is such a fantastic event and having a clear sunny day enhances the atmosphere. However, the heat can pose a number of risks for runners so it’s important that they follow these simple steps to ensure they remain safe on the day. We want everyone, runners and supporters alike, to enjoy the experience which is why it’s important to follow the advice over the coming days.”

Supporters are also advised to wear suitable sun protection such as a high factor sunscreen and a hat and to ensure they bring a supply of water with them as they may be standing in the sun for quite some time.

All runners are required to register in the Concert Hall at Cork City Hall on Friday or Saturday where they will be able to collect their race number and race pack.

The full marathon will start on St Patrick’s Street at 8.15am and the 10k race will start on St Patrick’s Street at 8.45m. The half marathon will start on Monahan Road at 10.15am. All races finish on St Patrick’s Street.

People are advised of road closures across the city and information on these can be found on the official Cork City Marathon website www.corkcitymarathon.ie.

Baby Margot is officially six months old!

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Billie Faiers welcomed her third child, daughter Margot, into the world in December.

Now, Billie and her husband Greg Shepherd have been celebrating their little one reaching the six month milestone.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, the mum-of-three shared two adorable snaps of Margot wrapped up in a towel and smiling. Billie also included a throwback snap to the day Margot was born, to celebrate how much progress she has made.

“Six months of loving you Margot,” the 33-year-old gushed in her caption.

“I still can’t believe my precious little darling is 6 months today,” Billie continued. “Time really does fly when you're having fun.”

The reality star ended her heartwarming message with a description of the images. “The first photo I took this morning and the second was the day she was born,” Billie concluded.

Many of Billie’s 2.6M Instagram followers have since taken to the comments section of her post to marvel at the new photos, and also to draw comparisons to her older two children – eight-year-old daughter Nelly and six-year-old son Arthur.

“She’s gorgeous, beautiful eyes & so like her handsome brother Arthur x,” one fan wrote.

“Can’t believe how much Margot is Nellys twin,” another replied.

“She’s a mix of both, nellys eyes and Arthur smile xx,” a third added.

Billie’s six month update with Margot comes after she previously admitted that older brother Arthur ‘smothered’ the newborn when she first arrived.

“Because I was a bit like, ‘Oh, careful!’ it made him go the opposite way. He was so full on with her,” Billie explained to OK! in March.

“When I look back at it, at the time I was having all the emotions of a newborn and it was probably more me just being overprotective. It was his way of trying to show his love and affection,” she noted, adding that Arthur has “definitely settled down” now.

June 1st to 7th marks World Haemochromatosis Week and the Irish Haemochromatosis Association is raising awareness about this common genetic condition as they call for a National Strategy for Haemochromatosis.

Haemochromatosis is Ireland’s most common genetic condition as 1 in 83 people are at risk of developing the ‘iron overload’, while 1 in 5 carry the gene. Despite this, it is one of the lesser-known conditions amongst the Irish population.

Haemochromatosis is more common in Ireland than anywhere else in the world and has the nickname of ‘the Celtic Gene’. This is because while 1 in 5 people carry one copy of the gene, 1 in 83 carry two copies of the gene.

Recent research also shows that up to 1 in 10 people in Northern Ireland are at risk of having genetic Haemochromatosis.

Early diagnosis of the condition is vital. If left untreated, iron overload can lead to organ damage or even premature death. The Irish Haemochromatosis Association estimates there are at least 20,000 undiagnosed cases of haemochromatosis in Ireland.

As it is World Haemochromatosis Awareness Week, the Irish Haemochromatosis Association is not only raising awareness of this lesser-known condition but are also urging people to join the association in calling for a National Strategy for Haemochromatosis.

The Association is also asking people to ‘Get Checked for Haemochromatosis’ to highlight the symptoms in order to save lives. Symptoms range from chronic tiredness and joint pain, to abdominal pain and sexual dysfunction.

Several City and County Councils will be supporting the campaign and joining the wider, international initiative to ‘Light Up Red’, lighting up several iconic public buildings nationwide, such as Dublin Convention Centre and Cork City Hall, during World Haemochromatosis Awareness Week.

This year, the IHA has teamed up with Ireland rugby star Tomás O’Leary, who is well-known for being part of the Irish team that won the 2009 Grand Slam. Tomás has family members living with haemochromatosis and is helping to raise awareness in the hope that someday everyone in Ireland will be aware of the symptoms.

He stated, “As someone who has seen family members diagnosed with haemochromatosis, I want to help highlight just how important early detection really is. If I can help even one person recognise the symptoms and inspire them to go and get checked, I will feel like I have helped make a small difference. I hadn’t heard of haemochromatosis until I learned that my uncles and aunts were living with it. That’s why I’m delighted to be working with the IHA to make sure everyone in Ireland is aware of haemochromatosis and knows exactly what it is and – most importantly – how to recognise the symptoms before it’s too late.”

Speaking about the awareness drive for World Haemochromatosis Awareness Week, Dr Maurice Manning, who lives with haemochromatosis and is current Chair of the Irish Haemochromatosis Association says, “Ireland has more cases than anywhere else in the world, that’s why it is vital that no Irish person should go undiagnosed. Our aim is for everyone to understand what Haemochromatosis is and to be aware of its prevalence in Ireland".

"We are calling for a National Strategy for Haemochromatosis to be developed in Ireland. There should also be equity of access to treatment for everyone in the country. Haemochromatosis, once diagnosed, can be successfully treated and patients go on to live their lives to the full, without any impact.”

He added, “If anyone seeing this campaign and recognises any of the symptoms – for either themselves or for a loved one, seek medical advice. Simply make an appointment with your GP and take a blood test. It could make all the difference.”

The Irish Haemochromatosis Association was established over 24 years ago. Volunteers and Ambassadors such as David Beggy, GAA All Star, Mark Cagney, former RTE Presenter and Paul Harrington, musician, songwriter and former Eurovision songwriter winner, who all have Haemochromatosis, have promoted awareness of the disorder throughout recent years.

The public can support the vital work of the Irish Haemochromatosis Association, by making a donation to its work or by donating via the Text to Donate service, Text ‘IRON’ to 50300 to donate €4 or make a donation on the charity’s website: www.haemochromatosis-ir.com Funds raised will be used to continue the IHA helpline, providing information and resources for patients and their families throughout the year.

The results are in and AVOCA’s sponsored show garden ‘Looms & Blooms’, designed by Kevin Dennis has been awarded a gold medal.

Dublin’s Bord Bia Bloom festival opened its doors to the public yesterday as the judges casted their votes. AVOCA unveiled a 300-year anniversary show garden at Dublin’s Bloom Festival today. Aptly named ‘Looms & Blooms’, this remarkable garden serves as a tribute to celebrate the 300-year anniversary of AVOCA’s Wicklow Mill, Ireland’s oldest working weaving mill.

AVOCA’s gold-winning show garden crafted by acclaimed garden designer Kevin Dennis, honours the rich heritage of The Mill. Kevin has previously won four gold medals, a silver-gilt medal, a Best in Category Award, and the Designers’ Choice Award.

The experiential garden invites visitors to embark on a journey through the brand's captivating history over the last 300 years. The show garden has already captured the imagination of visitors to Bloom, transporting attendees to a realm where contemporary design and heritage collide.

The garden is inspired by the hills and plant life of Wicklow, also referred to as ‘The Garden of Ireland’, featuring lush plants and trees along the front of the garden with stunning copper bark and a steel pergola. Each element of the garden is a subtle nod to AVOCA’s history over three centuries.

Bord Bia Bloom takes place from June 1st – June 5th. Further information regarding AVOCA’s Garden at Bord Bia Bloom Festival can be found here.

Phillip Schofield has opened up after admitting to lying about an affair with a younger male colleague.

One week ago today, the former This Morning presenter announced his resignation from broadcaster ITV after he confirmed that he had an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a runner on the daytime show.

Now, the 61-year-old has been speaking out for the first time and sharing more details on the matter.

Credit: BBC

In an interview with BBC News journalist Amol Rajan, Phillip clarified that, after initially meeting him as a teenager, his younger colleague was 20 years old when they began their affair.

Their first romantic encounter happened in the star’s dressing room. Phillip recalled that it was “not a relationship” and that there were “only five or six” incidents between them, taking place over a few months.

The former Dancing On Ice host went on to address claims that he had ‘groomed’ his colleague and abused his power, given the age gap between the pair.

Credit: Phillip Schofield Instagram

"If it's an abuse of power, it's not in my nature to be that person, but of course it could be perceived as that. But that wasn't how it felt at the time,” Phillip responded.

He also insisted that former co-host Holly Willoughby “did not know” about the affair, adding: "Nobody knew. Rumours started, and then you lie. When you've had a workplace fling, you lie about it.”

Phillip shared that he can’t see himself restoring his television career in the future. "I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart. I have lost everything,” he detailed.

The father-of-two also spoke of how his mental health has plummeted following the scandal. "Last week, if my daughters hadn't been there, I wouldn't be here. They've been by my side every moment because they're scared to let me out of their sight,” he confessed.

"What am I going to do with my days? "I see nothing ahead of me but blackness, and sadness, and regret, and remorse, and guilt. I did something very wrong, and then I lied about it consistently,” he concluded.
