Despite selling out arenas all over the world and lining up future concert dates, One Direction are currently dogged by rumours of unrest within the band. And while there are reports constantly suggesting a split is only around the corner, one man who will refuse to let that happen is Danny O’Donoghue from The Script.

Urging the band to stay together, the 34-year-old frontman spoke to the Daily Star on Sunday and said: “If I was advising them I would tell them to stick together as long as possible. It should be the band against the world.”

The latest One Direction story which suggests a split may be on the horizon revolved around reports that an ‘exhausted’ 21-year-old Zayn can no longer cope with fame and may want out, but Danny is having none of it.

Commenting on the reports, the For The First Time singer said: “You have to stick together, protect each other and look after each other. Maybe they just need an extended break, but I wouldn’t advise them to split.”

If the reports that Zayn is sick of fame, overwhelmed by negative publicity and suffering from homesickness are indeed true, then Danny’s words may fall on deaf ears, but hey, it was worth a shot!

The Script can do more than just sell out Croke Park – they are legitimate heroes after last night.

Danny O’Donoghue and his bandmates reportedly came to the rescue of a young woman whose car hit a barrier and spun out of control in Manchester.

The accident occurred on the M40 in Manchester, following the band’s gig in the area.

After coming across the accident as they drove past, Danny is said to have ran across the busy motorway to lend his assistance to the driver.

Thankfully, the 25-year-old woman escaped from the vehicle unharmed.

Taking to Twitter to share the incident with his followers, front man Danny wrote: “Thank God she was alright, hit the barrier and spun out, got her out as the engine was starting to smoke.”

“We had to do it or it could have been [very] bad. She’s ok now and that’s the main thing. Her car is totalled,” he added.

Fair play to the lads, they really are Superheroes now!

The Script frontman Danny O’Donoghue has spoken out about being sexually assaulted after going out to fans at a German gig:

“This guy went right under and properly grabbed my balls. So all I could think of doing was turning round and punching him in the face.

“I felt that my life was in danger.

“His friends started to come at me, it was a big deal. Luckily, security got them all back.”

When the guy threatened to call the police, Danny decided to get in there first and file a complaint:

“He started saying he was going to call the police so I filed a complaint to say the bloke sexually assaulted me and I just reacted.”

Fair enough, Danny!

The Script lads have opened up about their near death experience after their tour bus crashed – and said being drunk saved them!

The Irish band spoke about their trauma in America while on the road with One Republic earlier this year.

Guitarist Mark Sheehan said, “The bus crashed one night. We were in the middle of recording in the mobile studio and we were going 55mph on to the on-ramp of a motorway. The bus slammed to a stop and everyone went flying.

“A few instruments were harmed but everyone was OK. Thankfully we were pretty drunk at the time. The reality hit us the next day – that if we had been in bed at the time of the crash, we could have broken our necks.”

The band, whose new album No Sound Without Silence comes out on September 15th, have turned their tour coach into a mini-nightclub and renamed it the “craic house”.

Singer Danny O’Donoghue said, “We booked a load of lasers and a smoke machine for the bus so as soon as we finish recording for the night, we turn them on and have a DIY nightclub.”

As long as it doesn’t crash again lads!
