The 26-year-old singer has had a turbulent year to say the least, but Demi Lovato has shown how truly grateful she is to be alive.

Many celebrities were posting their highlights from the past year, and their 2019 resolutions, but Lovato chose the moment to declare how happy she is to have survived her ordeal.

It was only five months ago that the Skyscraper singer almost died from an accidental overdose at her home in the Hollywood Hills.

Posting to her Instagram story, Demi wrote:

"So grateful for the lessons I've learned this year. I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones," she said.

"Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me throughout this year. God bless."

The post comes following the singer's two month stint in rehab earlier in the year, where she received treatment for substance abuse addiction.

Lovato issued a since-deleted statement in August regarding her on-going battle with addiction;

"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction," she claimed.

"What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."

2019 looks set to be a positive one for the artist, with her rumoured new relationship with designer Henry Levy, and a Grammy nomination for her collaboration with Christina Aguilera on the track Fall In Line.

Her family have been open about Demi's progress with her sobriety, with her sister, Madison De La Garza, writing a birthday note on Instagram:

"Today could have been one of the worst days of my life, but instead I get to spend it thanking God, the incredible doctors, Demi's team, and everyone across the world who offered their support — without all of these people i wouldn't have my big sister anymore."

We're so glad that her recovery appears to be well on the way, and that she is surrounded by a healthy support system.

Hailey Baldwin is reportedly being sued for plagiarising an author’s words on Instagram in the midst of Justin Bieber’s Insta row with Selena Gomez.

OK so we know that’s a lot of celebrity in one intro, but possibly prompted by that very public spat Hailey used the popular social media site to share a deep quote about human error which, as it turns out, wasn’t written by the model herself.

According to Page Six, the posted quote had actually been pulled from Say What’s Real – a book whose author was not impressed to see her words associated with the 19-year-old in articles about JB’s tiff with his ex.

A photo posted by Hailey Baldwin (@haileybaldwin) on

The image – which has since been deleted – included insights like: “We’ve all had our fair share of things we’ve done, both good and bad.  What makes the present so powerful is when we take complete responsibility for our actions, we allow ourselves self-growth.”

And: “The truth always comes to light, so it’s better just to own it.  We’re all guilty of things, but show people you have enough love and respect for yourself to be honest about it and learn from it.”

Now, writer Melissa Molomo has demanded that Hailey apologise for causing confusion about the work’s origins by failing to credit her in the post.

A letter sent by Molomo’s legal rep also states that by “stealing” the quote Stephen Baldwin’s daughter could be liable for up to $150,000 (around €134,000) worth of damages.

So ladies from now on when regramming inspirational quotes, be sure to acknowledge where those words really came from.

Last week Victoria and David Beckham shared some cute family snaps on Instagram to celebrate their daughter Harper’s fifth birthday.

And while the majority of their followers recognised the pics for what they were (freakin’ adorable) a number of people took to social media to complain that Victoria’s post was inappropriate because it showed little Harper kissing her mum on the lips.

Well it seems Harper’s 13-year-old brother Romeo already has more sense than those who trolled his mam as – according to The Mirror – he has responded to their negativity in the best way possible.

The teen shared a selfie on his Facebook page which shows Victoria kissing him on the cheek and is captioned: “I still love my mother’s kisses.”  Bless!

The sweet post was then sealed with a simple heart emoji.

We think it is awesome that Romeo was willing to stand up for his mum against the trolls.

We Irish love a good old moan. In fact, we absolutely adore it.

Any public service, every government decision, every piece of mail that's lost.

But it's safe to say, after seeing this, we will never say a bad word about An Post again.

As detailed in the genius This Blog Delivers, one ambitious individual recently decided to REALLY put our mailing service to the test.

Indeed, they have already sent several different letters, each with confusingly cryptic addresses – all to see what the good folk at the GPO would be able (or bothered) to deliver.

And the results are hilariously impressive…

A dice with one line of the address on each side. An Post delivered it two days later.

They also delivered this letter where the address could only be read by looking in a mirror…

The sender said that this jigsaw address was delivered along with "a polite note explaining why they opened it. That is horribly impressive." Yes, yes it is.

The delivery people had to pull the arrows to reveal the address. It arrived at its terminus the next morning.

Could An Post really be bothered to solve a crossword to discover this letter's chosen destination? Yep; they sure did – it was delivered.

And so it should be fairly unanimously acknowledged… An Post is officially up for the craic.

In fairness to him, it may have been a TV licence letter.
