X Factor host Olly Murs is said to be heartbroken after splitting from girlfriend of three years Francesca Thomas.

According to The Sun, the pop star and his property manager girlfriend have called it quits as their hectic work schedules made it difficult to juggle both their relationship and their careers.

A source is being quoted as saying: "The split has just happened and it is very raw for Olly, he still feels numb.”

Apparently Olly had been aware that their relationship would struggle as he always put his career first and the source added: "Now, with X Factor and his singing on the go, that's exactly what has happened."

The 31-year old had previously joked that his girlfriend was not a fan of his new physique. Speaking Fabulous magazine, Olly noted that Francesca wasn’t overly thrilled with his new slimmed down appearance:

"The missus doesn't like six-packs, so she's not a big fan. She misses the comfort belly, something to snuggle up to!"

His new healthy lifestyle came as a result of working out with a personal trainer four times a week and ditching takeaways for healthier meals in the run up to the new X Factor series.

The pair were together for three years and their alleged split has apparently come as quite a surprise:

"They worked so hard to keep their relationship strong, all their friends are stunned they couldn't make it work. Olly has kept himself busy with work to distract himself and took himself on a lads night out to see One Direction.”

As of yet, neither Olly or Francesca have commented on their relationship.

The X Factor was set to return bigger and better this year with new judges, new hosts and even rumours of a new format, but there have already been problems one week in.

The series got off to a bad start at the weekend when the Manchester live auditions were cancelled due to the death of Simon Cowell's mother. But with the auditions rescheduled for today and tomorrow (July 6th and 7th), new judge Rita Ora has already had to pull out, as well as Olly Murs' co-host Caroline Flack.

Rita had apparently cleared her diary for the original audition dates last weekend, and with the changes she will no longer be able to appear on the show tomorrow.

While the Shine Ya Light singer will be there to film today, she then flies out to France for commitments at Paris Fashion Week with Karl Lagerfeld, according to The Mirror.

She had hoped to make it back for a 1pm start in Manchester on Thursday but now has decided to pull out of tomorrow's filming altogether. A spokesperson for ITV confirmed the news, saying the producers were making other arrangements for tomorrow. "Rita obviously wanted to be there but it is just unfortunate that with the change in filming dates there is an issue," the rep said.

"We will go ahead either with Simon, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw, or drafting in a guest judge."

Rita was confirmed as a new judge on the show last month, along with BBC Radio 1 host Nick. The pair will join Cheryl and Simon on the panel for this series.

As for hosting duties, Olly Murs will be left to run the show by himself as Caroline flies to Mallorca to work on another project. "Caroline has to jet off to Majorca to film Love Island, so Olly… is going to have to host on his own," a source revealed.

Simon Cowell took to Twitter this morning to thank his fans for their support after the death of his beloved mum Julie:

Hopefully by the next round of auditions everyone will be present and correct once again…

The real reason he chose Caroline Flack and Olly Murs as the new hosts for the X Factor has been revealed by Simon Cowell himself.

Simon explained that he thinks the pair “have great chemistry” and are ridiculously attracted to each other. According to Simon, this makes for excellent TV viewing.

But wait, doesn’t Olly have a girlfriend?

Yes, and we don’t think Olly’s girlfriend Francesca Thomas since will be too pleased with Simon’s latest comments.

That’s possibly why Simon was very quick to stress that he was just “kidding”, after he made the comment. Nice save, Simon.

The 55-year old music mogul went on to say that he thought Olly was a particularly good person for the gig because he is a former contestant of the show.

“He's perfect to be in that position," according to Simon, who also said that Caroline and Olly were the best choice because of their love for the show and “they have amazing energy.”

Caroline has admitted previously that she did once consider a romance with Olly. She told the Daily Telegraph that at one point she did think “Do I? Could I?' There's always been a barrier where we just couldn't ever cross that line and we never have.”

She also described him as the most confident person she’s ever met, “but it never border on arrogance.”

So, Caroline doesn’t seem to be interested in crossing that line with Olly any time soon, but let us remember that she did find love on the X Factor once upon a time.

Caroline dated then 17-year old One Direction star Harry Styles back in 2011, which she has admitted was a bit “strange”.

According to Simon Cowell, this year is the “make or break” year for The X Factor.

Joining the notorious music mogul on the panel this time round are Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

The singing competition has suffered a huge loss of ratings in the last few years. Its last season struggled to compete with other talent shows, primarily Strictly Come Dancing.

However, you can dry those eyes because all hope is not lost just yet.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, the 55-year-old admitted that “It does feel like make or break this year, but I feel like every year is make or break to be honest.”

He went even further saying, that “There were certain years when certain people won and it was like, ‘Oh, Christ’.”

Who could you ever be talking about, Simon? While he didn’t elaborate, we certainly have a few names in mind!

Although the father-of-one is certainly worried about the show’s ratings, he is forever inspired by the possibility of finding new talent. “Last year’s show made me realise there’s still a lot of talent to be discovered,” he admitted.

“You never forget those days when you feel a star is being born.”

This year Caroline Flack and Olly Murs will be co-hosting, while Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom are to present The Xtra Factor

Since her big comeback on Strictly Come Dancing, it’s safe to say that Caroline Flack has her pick of jobs right now.

While she’s currently busy shooting the new series of The X Factor with partner-in-crime Olly Murs (hurray!), word on the street is that she’s eyeing up another big role.

Yes, it seems that the unstoppable Caroline has set her sights on the West End, and she’s apparently sizing up the part of Roxie Hart in Chicago in the new stage production of the much-loved movie.

A source shared the news this weekend with The Sun, revealing that the 35-year-old has been secretly preparing for her audition for months.

“This is Caroline’s absolute dream role. Her time on Strictly reignited her passion for performing. That’s why she’s prepared to put herself through an audition,” the source said.

They added: “She is hosting X Factor and Love Island for ITV so it’s not like she needs the work, it’s just a project she’s very passionate about. She understands the risk of the audition and the fact it means she might not get the role.”

It seems that Caroline has pulled out all the stops in her bid to bag the role, having enlisted the help of director Tom Attenborough and vocal coach Claire Underwood as part of her preparations.

Chicago is one of our all-time favourites, and we think the fabulous Caroline would rock out as Roxie. What do you think?

The X Factor is in for a big shake-up this year, with Dermot O'Leary, Louis Walsh, Mel B and Xtra Factor presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford all saying goodbye.

Now, the first look at two of the newest names to join the next series of the show has been released.

Former X Factor finalist Olly Murs will join forces with TV personality Caroline Flack to host this year's series, and they showed off their onscreen chemistry in the first official call-out for musical hopefuls.

The promo video, filmed at the first round of X Factor auditions in Manchester last weekend, shows Olly and Caroline standing on a stage surrounded by auditionees.

It might be the X Factor music or the the hundreds of screaming fans, but the new hosts definitely seem to be doing a good job of presenting so far. Take a look:

Dermot O'Leary revealed in March that he was stepping down from hosting duties after eight years, but it's thought he may have made the choice himself to avoid being fired later on.

"Dermot has known for a while that his card was marked and show bosses had said they were going to be changing the format and looking for different talent," a source close to the presenter said at the time.

“He decided to walk before they could officially axe him."

Louis Walsh also predicted he wouldn't be returning to the judging panel this year, telling TV3 last month, "I think I’m done with X Factor. I’ve done 11 seasons." As early as last year, Louis admitted he felt he was on "borrowed time" with the show's producers.

We hope Olly and Caroline know they have some big shoes to fill…

The new X Factor hosts have officialy been confirmed by Simon Cowell.

There was a lot of speculation around it but it has now been confirmed that Olly Murs and Caroline Flack will definitely replace Dermot O’Leary on the show.

The former Xtra Factor hosts appear to be very excited about the new role.

Caroline said: “I’m beyond excited about presenting the X Factor with Olly.”

She then went on to add, “To have the privilege of doing this with someone who makes me laugh out loud is a massive bonus.”

Olly also expressed his excitement: “I’m incredibly excited and proud to be returning to the X Factor alongside Caroline.” He then added, “I love the show and it kick-started my career in music which has given me the opportunity to do what I love.”

They both hosted the Xtra Factor in 2011 and 2012 so are familiar with the way the show works.

Olly came second place in the show in 2009.

We were pretty shocked to hear that, after seven wonderful years on the show, Dermot O’Leary is leaving his presenting gig on The X Factor.

Now that the news has sunk in, attention has turned to just who will replace Dermot, and it looks as though we have a front-runner – well, two, actually.

Indeed, after the success of their stint on The Xtra Factor, it’s singer and X Factor alumnus Olly Murs and presenter Caroline Flack who are tipped to take over.

While Ryan Seacrest’s and Marvin Humes’ names have also been bandied about already, fans of the show clearly have a soft spot for Olly and Caroline.

Indeed, Twitter users appear to be very excited at the prospect of having the pair back, with one writing: “Imagine if Caroline Flack and Olly Murs came back to The X Factor to present the main show? That would be amazing!”

Olly has also added fuel the rumour himself, cancelling his April 8th gig in Stockholm on the same day that Dermot’s departure from the show was announced.

We’ll keep you guys updated, but it certainly looks like we have some early favourites!

Remember back in 2009 when X Factor finalist Olly Murs was faced with the difficult decision of performing on the show or attending his twin brother Ben’s wedding?

Well, Olly decided to put the X Factor first and things have never been the same between his brother and the entire Murs clan since.

In a revealing interview with the Radio Times, the Troublemaker singer spoke of his decision not to attend the wedding, saying: "At that point in my life, I was like, as much as I love him, I have to do this for myself, I have to change my life, I never expected him to react the way he did.”

Olly who hasn’t spoken to his brother in five years thinks that there’s much more to the feud than just his absence at the wedding, admitting: “Ben’s wedding was his excuse for not having me in his life anymore. He got into a relationship with his now wife and I don’t think she ever liked us a family.”

Back in 2009, Olly’s brother Ben called him a “self-absorbed sell-out”, but Olly seems more concerned about Ben’s relationship with his parents than fussing over any bitter name-calling, saying: "I would love my mum to have her son back. She gave birth to both of us and she now only has one son.”

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s new ‘I don’t care’ attitude is winning her no fans, that’s for sure.

While we’re waiting with baited breath for Nadine Coyle’s response to being labelled as “full of sh*t”, one person who has made their feelings on Cheryl’s cattiness known is Olly Murs.

Everyone was surprised when Cheryl booted X Factor contestant Monica Michael from this year’s competition, criticising her for choosing one of Olly’s songs, Troublemaker, for her audition.

“I know what you’re capable of, I don’t understand why you would do an Olly Murs song,” said the judge at the time.

Now, Olly has hit back at Cheryl over the incident, saying that it left him “annoyed”.

The former X Factor host told Attitude magazine: “I was a bit annoyed because I think the crowd were loving it and she [Monica] did a really good job.”

He added: “It’s the best I’ve seen someone sing Troublemaker. Obviously Cheryl didn’t like it. I don’t think she likes the song.”

If she keeps going the way she has been, we don’t think she’ll remain the nation’s sweetheart for very much longer!

It looks like Olly Murs has been feeling the heat since his comments about Taylor Swift’s songwriting hit headlines.

The X Factor star has now admitted that he has apologised for his comments, after Taylor appeared on radio calling speculation on her songwriting “sexist”.

Taylor was replying to questions regarding the men in her life that have inspired some of her most favourite songs: “That’s a very sexist angle to take. No one says that about Ed Sheeran, no one says that about Bruno Mars, they’re all writing songs about their exes … and no one raises a red flag there.”

See the moment at 5:36 in the video below:

Olly seems to feel that Taylor’s comments were aimed at him, as he has recently said: “I reached out to Taylor around two days ago. I gave her a letter and said, “I’m really sorry … It came out wrong. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to make any offence. It always came out that every article says Taylor writes songs and they always link it to Harry so I was just making a joke and defending my mate. But there’s one thing – I’m not and I’ve never been sexist. I don’t think that’s right.”

Hmm, who says Taylor was speaking to you directly, Olly?! Sounds like someone has a guilty conscious!
