Love Island star Greg O'Shea has jetted out of the villa in order to attend his beloved grandmother's funeral in Ireland this week.

The Irish rugby player and solicitor left the ITV reality show base for Dublin in an unprecedented move.

The 24-year-old returned immediately to the Spanish island of Majorca following the service yesterday, which must have been a difficult time.

His dad Niall O'Shea spooke to Limerick Live 95 about the funeral, and praised producers for allowing Greg to come home;

"Greg is a very good family man and his mother wanted to make sure he was there because himself and his Nan, got on well."

Monica Ho from Raheen, Limerick "passed away peacefully on July 19, 2019, in the care of Talbot Lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family."

The 24-year-old charming Irishman has gained a huge amount of fans since joining the show last week, but no reference will be made to his granny's passing on the show.

The Ireland Rugby Sevens player admitted that he can't hold back his opinions at times, like fellow Irish contestant Maura Higgins;

“I see something that I don’t agree with, I’m not able to hold it to myself – I always have to say something. I struggle to bite my tongue," he said.

His sister Laura told Today FM that Greg kept his arrival on the show a secret from his family.

"It's a shock to say the least. We found out with everyone else, he was completely secret the whole time so the shock was very large in our house last night in Corbally.

"Look, we’re happy for him, he’s clearly having such a good time so let's just see what happens," she added.

"He took off from Paris, he was over there, we did get a weird request for a couple pairs of shorts and sunglasses but we just thought it was for Paris and that he had met a lovely girl in Paris, but no, he was packing a bag for Majorca."

It's not very often we see brides who are nearly 90-years-old, but looking at this stunner, we should definitely see more of them!

Millie Taylor-Morrison is at the ripe age of 86, and totally killed it on her wedding day.

Angela Denise Allen Simms shared a photo on Facebook of the bride on her special day and captioned the post: "86 y.o.Bride, today!! My baby cousins friends grandmother!! Posting because she's beautiful!!!"

And she certainly is. Millie wore a purple and lavender dress which she designed herself, and she told People she chose the colours because they've always been her favourite.

"I had a vision of what I'd like this dress to be, so I asked a young man in my church who is an artist to sketch it and I took it to the dressmaker.

"Purple and lavender are my favourite colours."

Millie was married to her first hubby for 41 years before he passed away.

She then reconnected with an old friend, Harold, who she knew for more than sixty years, and he popped the question to her.

The couple got married in front of 200 family and friends. What a lovely story!

Poor gran. Just when one grandmother thought she had the whole texting thing down, her grand daughter confuses EVERYTHING for her.

Many text fight's start when things get lost in translation, however, this woman MAJORLY misinterpreted a text she received from a random number.

Maddie received a text that read "Do you want beef tonight at 6" from an unknown number and instantly jumped to the wrong conclusion.

She thought that this texter was looking for a fight, and being the stand-up woman that she is, she instantly shut the texter DOWN.

Maddie replied with: "Wft, who's this? Don't text me saying sh*t trying to be a big man when your number isn't even saved in my phone so you clearly don't know me."

The texter, who was her grandmother, was clearly taken aback by the text and wrote back:

"It's grandma. I have a new phone Maddie.

"I was only asking what you wanted for dinner. Please do not be like this."

Maddie must have been shocked when she realised she called her granny a "big man". What a confusing conversation!
