When it comes to Christmas anthems, East 17’s classic ‘Stay Another Day’ is up there with the best of them.

So when we heard X Factor’s 5 After Midnight were performing the 1994 hit this weekend, we knew we were in for a treat.

Well, not everyone was so excited with Nicole Scherzinger admitting she had never heard of the song before last night’s semi-final.

Nicole said she was confused about British Christmas traditions after mishearing the lyrics “stay now” for “steakhouse”.

“I thought you were singing about a steakhouse. I was like ‘they love a steakhouse at Christmas here’.”

Viewers were quick to share their thoughts on her interpretation saying:

“How has Nicole never heard East 17?”

She’ll be adding it to the mixtape for this year.

Lindsay Lohan has had her fair share of ups and downs over the past few years, so it’s great to see that her career is starting to get back on track.

And while we’re excited by her latest Instagram post, teasing her upcoming movie, The Shadow Within, it sounds like this project is truly BIZARRE.

Here goes…she’s going to be playing a werewolf private investigator.

We’re not even kidding right now.

Sharing a poster from the film, which is set for release next year, an excited Lindsay wrote: “#Yes. Coming soon to a theatre near you.”

Fans are clearly very excited about the 30-year-old’s next move, and we were curious – so we checked out the movie’s IMDB page, and are…intrigued, to say the least.

€11.3 million is what some lucky person stands to win from last night’s Lotto jackpot.

Well, it’s more like €11,345,002, which is the second highest jackpot of this year – and it’s yet to be claimed.

The National Lottery has revealed that the winning ticket was bought in the Spar at Top Service Station on Amiens Street, Dublin.

If that last bit has made you gasp, then double-check you have the winning numbers before going on a shopping binge.

Any true soap fan lives for the cliff-hanger.

The moment at the end of each episode when you’re left screaming at the television begging for more, but then sink back down into the sofa in disappointment when you realise you have to wait until tomorrow.

And there is no soap better at delivering a good cliff-hanger than Eastenders.

Well, on Friday night, it delivered a doozy.

When three masked men broke into the Queen Vic and started attacking the Carter family, viewers were working overtime to try and suss out who it may have been.

However, they didn’t have to wait too long as, a few minutes later, all was revealed –  in the credits.

As the credits rolled, viewers were quick to spot Osman ‘Oz’ Bolat.

Oz’s character was nowhere to be seen in Friday night’s episode, meaning he must have been one of the masked men.

Well, that's one way to wrap up a storyline.

It has been THE busiest week for baby news, and we’re ‘oohing’ and ‘aahing’ over yet more new arrivals in celeb-land.

Congratulations are in order for Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles, who has welcomed twins with wife Danneel Harris.

Jensen took to his social media channels to announce the wonderful news, revealing that Danneel gave birth to a son and a daughter on Saturday.

The couple are, of course, already parents to three-year-old daughter Justice Jay.

Posting a cute photo of ‘Thing 1’ and ‘Thing 2’ to Instagram, the 38-year-old wrote: “Danneel, JJ and I are excited to announce the birth of our twins, Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes.”

“They were born early yesterday morning. Everyone is doing great!” he added.

Now, those are two rock ‘n’ roll names if ever we heard them! What are your thoughts?

Jensen and Danneel announced their pregnancy news back in August, in the sweetest way ever.

A photo shared to Jensen’s Instagram page showed a set of five cowboy boots sitting on a wall: one for Dad, one for Mum, one for JJ – and two more tiny pairs, for the twins.

Theirs is a love story that played out before our very eyes on the silver screen, and Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan just continue to reduce us to mush.

Channing’s birthday dedication to Jenna, who turned 36 yesterday, is the reason why we can’t stop smiling this morning.

The Magic Mike star took to his Instagram page to post an adorable tribute to his wife of seven years, sharing a sweet photo of the couple locked in an embrace in front of a rainbow.

Of course, the couple first met all the way back in 2005, on the set of their movie Step Up. They went on to wed four years later, before welcoming their daughter, Everly, in 2013.

Jenna isn’t afraid to gush over her beloved hubby either, previously saying: “He’s amazing. He’s so sensitive. He’s like this really strong, big guy – and then you give him this little baby and he’s like, ‘Oh my God! Is she going to drop? Am I doing everything OK?!’”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Oakland, California today following the news that nine people have died in a fire, in a warehouse rave.

The converted warehouse – known as the Ghost Ship –  was playing host to a number of bands on Friday night, when a fire broke out and trapped dozens of people inside the building.

While local police have confirmed that nine people died in the tragedy, it is believed that the death toll could rise.

Local fire chief Teresa Deloche-Reed addressed the media after the blaze had been brought under control. She confirmed that the fire started at around 11:30pm, with about 100 people inside.

Safety concerns had been raised on numerous occasions regarding the Ghost Ship, and Deloche-Reed confirmed that the building had no sprinkler system; there also didn’t appear to be any fire alarms.

To make things even worse, furniture being stored in the warehouse apparently blocked firefighters’ way into the building, which was described by one person as a ‘maze’.

 

Many revellers were left stuck on the second floor of the building too, as their only means of exit was a staircase made of wooden pallets.

One photographer who escaped the blaze told local media: “I literally felt my skin peeling and my lungs being suffocated by smoke. I couldn’t get the fire extinguisher to work.”

An investigation into the fire has now been launched.

We’re thinking of all those affected by Friday’s tragedy.

Congratulations are in order this evening for actors Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin, with the news that they have become parents for the first time!

Coronation Street star Shayne took to Twitter to confirm that Sophie has given birth to a daughter, Willow May.

"Proud to share our incredible news. Me and Sophie had a beautiful baby girl. We are completely besotted and in love with the deepest of hearts," he wrote.

The doting new dad gushed: "Our world: Willow May Ward."

Sophie acknowledged the joyful news over on her Instagram page, sharing an adorable black-and-white photo, the caption simply reading: "Complete".

Needless to say, the couple's legion of devoted followers was delighted with the news, and it wasn't long before the congratulatory messages came rolling in.

The couple, who began dating this year, announced their baby news back in the summer.

After ending her fling with Justin Beiber this summer, the model is opting to keep quiet about any romances over the next year.

The star previously had a widely publicised romance with the Canadian pop star, as she and Justin shared photos of themselves kissing and cuddling across Instagram and Snapchat.

Medicinal marijuana legislation has passed the second stage in the Dail without a vote and is on course to be legalised by Easter next year.

The law would allow doctors to prescribe the plant as a natural pain reliever to people suffering from chronic conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia.

The Health Minister Simon Harris indicated he would not oppose the bill, but suggested that changes should be made before it's published.

The Bill is expected to be supported by a majority of TDs.

 A survey by Rec C found that over 90% of Irish people support the legalisation of the drug on medical grounds.

Irish people took to Twitter to show their support for the Government’s decision, with many using the hashtag #MakeItMedicine.

The body positivity activist will be the first plus sized model to grace the cover. 

It's been a pretty great year for the model, who was honoured at the Glamour Women of the Year awards for her work as a body positive activist, got her very own Barbie doll, as well as becoming the first plus size woman to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.

British Vogue will feature the brunette, who they call “the model with attitude" as their January cover girl to kick start the new year in style.

“For 10 years I’d been told I was always going to be a catalogue girl, never a cover girl,” she told Vogue. 

“Well, I got with IMG Models and did five covers in a year, boom, boom, boom. See, if you have a pretty face doors will open, but your job isn’t just to walk through them, it’s to get invited back.”

She was photographed for the issue by long-time and esteemed Vogue photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

The choice of the size 16 model for the cover has received a unanimously positive response across social media. 

Speaking about her size, the model has shunned the term plus size as she feels it is too narrow a way to describe someone.

 "Do I sometimes wish I were thinner? God, in the old days, absolutely I did, but now I feel that to lose weight would be disloyal to myself," she told Vogue.

"A lot of who I am is connected to my size, and I am so happy with who I am."

After completely smashing it at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Paris this week, Kendall Jenner has been living it up with a night on the town.

The model was spotted leaving a Miami nightclub last night with none other than old flame, rapper ASAP Rocky.

The pair were rumoured to have dated over the summer.

The alleged couple were accompanied by pal Johnathan Cheban as they tried to leave the club without being spotted.
