Wills and Kate

She's now a mother-of-two – a prince and a princess – who both arrived within less than two years of one another.

And although little Charlotte is not yet six months' of age, excited news organisations in the US are convinced that royal baby No.3 is ALREADY en route.

Yes, if Stateside rumour is to be believed, Duchess Kate is now pregnant, with the little bundle of regal joy arriving next spring.

The fact that she was seen holding aloft glasses of champagne at the recent royal banquet in Buckingham Palace – not to mention that on the same occasion her bespoke Jenny Packham dress showed no hint of a baby bump – seems to have been disregarded.

Instead, the covers of more than one glossy magazine this week declare that the wife of Prince William is very much expecting.

"It seems Kate Middleton, 33, and Prince William, 33, wasted no time getting back into the swing of things," declares one popular US site.

Meanwhile, Life & Style magazine, which carries the story on its front-page this week, says: “They’re expecting! It happened far quicker than they expected – they’d just started trying for another child. But William and Kate are so excited".

That publication furthermore says: "Friends are saying the baby will arrive around June. They say Kate is at the very beginning of her pregnancy and won’t show any sign of a bump until next year. She still looks extremely slim."

And as far back as early September, Star magazine was also stating that the Duchess was "in the early stages of pregnancy with baby number three". It added that the new addition to the Cambridge family is due "in late April or early May, so she’ll likely be showing by the New Year".

Even earlier in the summer, some US outlets reported absolutely that Kate was eager to have three children by the time she turned 35: as she celebrates her 34th birthday in January, it seemed she was eager to get a move on.

The rumour may all, of course, seem a little far-fetched, but Wills himself did say in the aftermath of Charlotte's arrival that a third Cambridge child was certainly possible.

In an interview to mark his first day as an air ambulance pilot, the prince spoke of family-life. When the interviewer playfully hinted at another baba, the second-in-line to the British throne laughed: "We've only just had the second one!"

Though he then added with a smile, "but you never know what's going to happen in the future."

They married in a gorgeous ceremony in Stockholm in June… and now Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have confirmed that she is pregnant. Hurrah!

Taking to Facebook to make the official announcement, the pair wrote that their little bundle of joy is expected to arrive in April of next year – which means only one thing: honeymoon baby!

"We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child," they wrote in a statement.

"We are very much looking forward to it."

The Swedish royal palace also revealed on Facebook that the two have not made any alterations to their planned public appearances schedule in light of the happy news.

Sofia, 30, and Carl-Philip, 36, dated for five years before walking down the aisle in June and live together in the upmarket Djurgården district of Stockholm.

He is the second child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, while she is from a non-aristocratic background.

And it will certainly be a busy time for royal grandparents Carl and Silvia: the prince's elder sister, Princess Victoria, 38, is also currently pregnant and due to give birth to her second child in March.

Meanwhile, youngest child Princess Madeleine, 33, already has two children – most recently giving birth in June.

She's just about the most fashionable person on the planet, rarely looking anything but entirely picture-perfect.

In fact, since officially becoming a member of Britain's most famous family in April 2011, Kate Middleton's look has evolved from rather safe and nondescript to full-on chic.

Yes, there's no denying that Mrs William Wales now boasts an elegance entirely worthy of her royal style icon status.

Not that it was always so: in fact, before Wills put a ring on it, the Duchess Kate had plenty of items in her wardrobe that she would now turn her perfect princess nose up at.

However, on reflection, we reckon throwback Kate Middleton is very much for the win.

From trips to Dublin in old jeans to donning yellow hot-pants and roller-skates, the 33-year-old certainly had a sense of carefree fun back then.

Here, SHEmazing! takes a stroll down memory lane with the Duchess Of Cambridge's top 12 pre Royal Wedding looks.

1) The dress that changed history: She was modelling in a charity fashion show during their University Of St Andrews days when Prince William reportedly decided that Kate was the only woman for him.

2) Feeling tweedy: It was spring 2004 when Kate rocked this oh-so rural-look during an outing with Wills. The skirt; the socks; the boots… It's all VERY horsey set.

3) Polka-dotty: Catherine sported this cotton pink halter-neck number – which she teamed with strappy floral red sandals – in July 2006. Suffice to say both are probably absent from her royal wardrobe now.

4) Casual in denim: During a short-lived split from her prince in the spring of '07, Ms Middleton popped over to Dublin with Mammy Middleton for a bit of shopping and to attend a gallery opening held by one of their friends.

5) More dots: Also in Dublin, the princess-in-waiting rocked this conservative black two-piece suit and open-toed, kitten-heel shoes.

6) And they're back on! Wills and Kate were back in each other's arms before long – after lying low for a while, in February 2008 she made a dazzling return to public life in this pink Issa gown.

7) The look we love: K.Middy was having the serious craic while wearing yellow hot-pants at a charity event in September 2008. We hope she kept that green sequin top too.

8) Hippy hippy shake: In the summer of '09, Catherine cooled down in stuffy London by wearing this long, flowing floral maxi skirt and flip-flops. Why she was carrying quite so many bags (we count four), we're still not sure.

9) Done deal: She got the ring – AND she looked amazing in this Issa number (the same one that sparked an entire trend) at the ridiculously high-profile press conference to announcement their engagement in November '10.

10) Lady in red: Those suede boots (the outfit would now be paired with LK Bennett pumps) are decidedly pre-wedding Kate, but just two months before their Big Day, William's girl was still looking really regal on an official outing with her prince.

11) Can't rain on my parade: Her weight-loss was noticeable (as were the creases), but two weeks before saying 'I do,' Ms Middleton still shined in Amanda Wakeley.

12) The day she wowed the world: THAT Alexander McQueen wedding dress. Afterwards, Kate left Westminster Abbey a fully-fledged princess. She hasn't looked back since.

She’s been on the British throne for more than 60 years – making her one of the world’s most prolific monarchs.

Indeed, Queen Elizabeth II’s extensive reign will shortly overtake that of her great-great grandmother’s, Queen Victoria, as the longest ever completed by a British king or queen.

To mark the historical occasion, a new biography, written by politician Lord Douglas Hurd, has been released. And in the preface for Elizabeth II: The Steadfast, Prince William opens up about his 89-year-old granny.

Saying that she is a “great source of pride and reassurance,” he adds: "Time and again, quietly and modestly, The Queen has shown us all that we can confidently embrace the future without compromising the things that are important.

"From a personal point of view, I am privileged to witness the private side of The Queen, as a grandmother and great-grandmother.”

Wills, who has been married to Duchess Kate for four-and-half years, also reveals that the monarch is funny and loves her family.

“The Queen's kindness and sense of humour, her innate sense of calm and perspective, and her love of family and home are all attributes I experience first-hand."

William goes on to pay tribute to Prince Philip, who is now 94. He and Elizabeth have been married since 1947 and the Duke says his grandfather "devoted his life" to supporting the monarch.

The second-in-line to the British throne adds: "All of us who will inherit the legacy of my grandmother's reign and generation need to do all we can to celebrate and learn from her story."

Earlier this week, it was revealed that despite rumour to the contrary, the Queen is a big fan of the former Kate Middleton, now the Duchess Of Cambridge.

“She thoroughly approves of the Duchess Of Cambridge and doesn’t give a fig for her being from an ordinary, middle-class background,” the author of The Queen's Speech, Ingrid Seward, wrote.

Together, the Cambridges have two children: a toddler son, George, and baby Charlotte.

On the occassion of the christening of his little sister Princess Charlotte two weeks ago, a two-year-old Prince George very nearly stole the show.

Looking as cute-as-a-button in a red and white smock designed by Rachel Riley (the €100 piece inevitably sold out within 24 hours) he waved to the crowds, chatted to his great-granny, peered lovingly into Charlotte's pram, and generally proved that he's going to be a serious heart-breaker in another couple of decades.

Understandably, the accompanying snaps of the day which were released by the British royals after the event, prompted oodles of ooos and aaas from around the globe.

Taken by the famed Mario Testino, they showed Kate, 33, and Wills, also 33, with their prince and princess in a variety of casual and natural poses.

But if we assumed that we'd been given our fill of gorgeous shots of the picture-perfect Cambridges – how wrong we were!

For Mr Testino himself took to Facebook this afternoon to add to the collection.

The image shows a proud-as-punch Prince William holding on tight to his son as George leans in towards the lens, peering at the camera with his big, brown eyes.

His lovely mop of blond tresses are swept away from his face, and he shows off a mouthful of white teeth too.

The toddler turns two tomorrow – with a party being thrown for him at his family's rural abode, Amner Hall.

Peru-native Mario even wished the little royal a happy birthday in the accompanying caption. "The Duke Of Cambridge with his son Prince George, who turns two years old tomorrow," he wrote in both English and his native Spanish.

This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George's second birthday.

Kensington Palace said today in a statement: "The photograph shows The Duke of Cambridge holding Prince George in the gardens at Sandringham House.

"It was part of the series of official photographs taken by Mario Testino following Princess Charlotte's baptism on Sunday July 5."

Happy birthday, little prince! Here's to many more amazing photographs.
