Calling all dance floor warriors – your time to shine is now!

A twerking workshop is coming to Dublin and it sounds like gas craic altogether.

But don't be fooled, while you and your friends are guaranteed to have the time of you life strutting your stuff around the dance studio, the energetic class doubles as a fairly intense workout.

Presented by Bam Bam Boogie Dance Fitness, the St. Patrick's Twerkshop comprises of a warm-up, sweat sequence, twerkout and meditation session.

Coming to 83 Camden Street lower on Tuesday, March 20, it's the perfect way to sweat out all the booze after the Bank Holiday weekend.

The class will run from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, and twerkers are encouraged to show some national pride by coming dressed in a splash of green

There are very limited spaces, so make sure to get your ticket (€11.40) on Eventbrite today.

Every year, a new fitness fad is sparked. And as we're probably due to come to the end of the Soul Cycle craze soon enough, here at SHEmazing! we've been keeping our eyes peeled for a new keep-fit rage.

Enter the TwerkOut routine, which was launched in LA (where else?) last year.

Driven by 26-year-old hottie Lexy Panterra, she has now taught more than 10,000 ladies to wiggle their hips in the name of exercise.

“It’s an incredibly sexy thing to do and it’s my mission to take women out of their comfort zone and get them twerking,” the self-proclaimed Twerk Master, whose YouTube videos and tutorials have notched up tens of millions of views, has declared.

Stars such as Christina Milian, Karrueche Tran, and Mel B have all attended her immensely popular Hollywood classes, with Lexy saying that the tough workout routine makes “women feel sexy”.

“Some people may be a little intimidated at first as it’s really out there, but once they start they can’t stop – twerking is addictive,” she added.

Her own Instagram account is pretty addictive in itself: plenty of fitspiration, as well as clips of Christian Milian seriously getting her twerk on.

@christinamilian and @lexypanterra new video coming soon.. Wait for ittttt Want to join class ?! Www.lextwerkout.com

Will it be coming to Ireland anytime soon? Well, if Ms Panterra has anything to do with it… yes! “I definitely want to take this class worldwide,” she admitted recently.

In the meantime, watch the video clip below for a dose of twerkspiration…

So it turns out that Miley Cyrus can’t claim she was responsible for making ‘twerk’ happen after all. Neither is Iggy Azalea actually. We bet they're pretty annoyed about that.

New research from the Oxford English Dictionary has said that the use of the word actually goes back as far as the 1800s.

Having now revised it’s entry for the word, the OED describes twerking as dancing “in a sexually provocative manner, using thrusting movements of the bottom and hips while in  a low, squatting stance.” Good to know.

Also, it was previously spelled ‘twirk’, and the OED described it as a jerking movement, or a twitch.

Twerking isn’t the only word getting a revamp for the dictionary. While POTUS was already an entry, FLOTUS has also been added (First Lady of the United States). More proof that people just really love Michelle Obama perhaps?

More of our favourite phrases have been officially added, according to a blog post from the OED and it includes some of these gems:

Twitterati (noun): Users of the social networking service Twitter collectively, typically referring to the group of prolific contributors or those who have high numbers of followers. [2006]

Fo’ shizzle (adjective): This slang term originated in the language of rap and hip-hop and means ‘for sure’. [2001]

Freegan (noun): A person who eats discarded food, typically collected from the refuse of shops or restaurants, for ethical or ecological reasons [1997]. It can also be used as an adjective.

Hot mess (noun): A hot mess referred to ‘a warm meal, especially one served to a group’ in 1818, but now it is more commonly used as a slang term for something or someone in extreme confusion or disorder.

Meh (interjection): This interjection, expressing indifference or a lack of enthusiasm, was probably popularized by the cartoon series The Simpsons, but it was already in use online by 1992 – two years before it was used in the programme.

sext (n., 2001): a sexually explicit or suggestive message or image sent electronically, typically using a mobile phone. Back in the 1500s, when someone referred to a “sext,” they were talking about a Christian worship ritual that involved chanting around midday.

So now there’s a grammatically correct way to call out your cheap friend who happens to call over just after someone’s ordered a pizza, fabulous.

We already know how fond Miley is of twerking, but it seems it’s something she wants to pass onto her 14-year-old sister too.

Miley shared an Instagram video of her and Noah Cyrus “twerking” and “dougie-ing” together, before a concert yesterday.

The We Can’t Stop singer was only wearing short shorts and a crop top, while her little sister was little more covered up with tracksuit bottoms.

The sisters are close, but we’re not sure how we feel about Miley teaching these dance moves to her little sister.
