She gave birth to their second child; hours later he flew to Dublin to witness Ireland beat World Champions Germany… and now, at last, we have a name!

Yes, welcome to the world Hudson Keane – a little brother to Robert, six.

Taking to Facebook last night, Robbie gushed: “Claudine and I would like to officially welcome Hudson Keane into the world.

“Such a blessing! His big brother Robert has been looking after him while I’ve been away.

“Looking forward to getting back to see my boys!!”

We definitely love the name Hudson! Somewhat more ‘American’ than Robert (the family moved Stateside in 2011 when 35-year-old Mr Keane signed for LA Galaxy), it is actually Medieval in origin and remains a nickname for both Hugh and Richard.

It is now one of the most popular boys' names in the US.

After confirming the pregnancy in late July, Dubliner Claudine, 32, gave birth at the swish Cedars-Sinai Hospital in LA – a firm favourite of celeby mums-to-be – on Monday.

A statement at the time read: “Robbie and Claudine are delighted to announce the birth of their gorgeous baby boy, who was born at 7pm on the 5th of October weighing 8lbs at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital LA.

“Mum and baby are doing great. Robert is already enjoying his new role as big brother.”

The duo dated for several years before marrying in the summer of 2008 in Dublin.

Robert arrived in May 2009, with the former Miss Ireland finalist giving birth naturally at a Dublin hospital.

Irish soccer fans were thrilled last night with our squad's 1-0 win over world champions Germany, but it turns out we weren't the only ones getting excited.

Singer Justin Bieber took to Twitter to send love to his "brother Keano" (a.k.a. Robbie Keane) – and to post a video of the team listening to his new single shortly after their win.

"Love to my brother Keano and the Irish squad on a big win today," the 21-year-old wrote on his personal page.

"Got this vid of them listening to #WhatDoYouMean after the win. Love it.

"Here it is. Robbie Keane and the Irish lads listening to #WhatDoYouMean after the victory."

Justin's video shows the lads listening to the radio on their team bus, cheering themselves on as "world champions."

The Republic of Ireland squad were no doubt celebrating last night after securing a victory in their UEFA European Championship qualifier against Germany at the Aviva Stadium

"Super sub" Shane Long scored in the 70th minute after being brought on from the bench.

As he is based in LA, it's no surprise that Robbie Keane might count Biebs as one of his celeb pals, but all the same we can't help wonder if that tweet was written by someone else on the singer's behalf…

Earlier today we brought you great news from the Keane camp as they announced the birth of their second child.

Roy Keane  was then speaking with reporters today when he was asked if Robbie Keane would be available for selection for the Republic of Ireland team.

He then delivered the most 'Roy Keane' response people had heard in a while. The 44-year old was confused as to why Robbie wouldn't be able to play.

Reporters then noted that his wife had just had a baby.

Roy Keane doesn't exactly have a history of being the most patient of interviewees over the years.  However, this one-liner will more than likely go down as one of his best moments.

The assistant Republic of Ireland coach  was speaking to the press ahead of the team's Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany on Thursday.

Robbie Keane, is expected to play a part in his country's crucial clash with Germany, despite the fact that his wife Caludine just gave birth to their second child in LA.

When pushed on whether Robbie Keane would definitely feature, the former Manchester United player's response was priceless.

Very quickly, Twitter users reacted- and it was a touch bizarre.

She enjoyed a remarkably low-key pregnancy – and Claudine Keane has now given birth to her and her husband’s second child.

Congratulations to the entire family!

An announcement on Robbie’s Facebook page confirmed that the little one had arrived safe and sound.

“Robbie and Claudine Keane are delighted to announce the birth of their gorgeous baby boy,” the post read.

The statement added that their son “was born at 7pm on the 5th of October weighing 8lbs at the Cedars Sinai hospital LA.

“Mum and baby are doing great. Robert is already enjoying his new role as big brother.”

The couple’s elder son is now six-and-a-half and attends school in Los Angeles, where the Keane family has lived since Robbie signed with LA Galaxy in 2011.

Robbie, 35, and Claudine, 32, both hail from Dublin and married there in the summer of 2008.

They were spotted on the red-carpet at the ESPYs in July – a few weeks before she confirmed she was expecting.

“It’s a good lifestyle,” Ms Keane has previously said of living in California.

“It’s very relaxed for the family. Lots to do outdoors, especially with my son. He likes going to the beach.”

Robbie and his wife Claudine were amongst a host of A-list celebrities including the entire Kardashian/Jenner clan and Britney Spears as they attended the event in Los Angelus.

Claudine, a former beauty queen, looked stunning for the event carrying an Alexander McQueen clutch bag and wearing a flowing black gown with a cut-out neckline.
