Following the success of their number one album, Trust The Wire, The Coronas are finishing off the year in style with two intimate Christmas shows.

The lads will take to the stage at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on December 5 and 10 for special performances to mark the 10 year anniversary of their debut release, Heroes or Ghosts.

Danny, Dave, Knoxy and Conor say they can't wait to bring their show back to the historic Dublin venue.

“We're delighted to announce that we'll be back in Dublin's Olympia Theatre this Christmas for two special intimate shows!”

“We wanted to finish the tour by playing in Dublin and what better venue to play than the Olympia! It's been 10 years since we released our debut album Heroes or Ghosts and to mark the anniversary we're gonna play a special gig on 10th December, celebrating that album.”

Tickets for The Coronas live at The Olympia Theatre on 05 & 10 December go on sale 9am Friday 22 September via Ticketmaster

The band is coming back with a new album, After Laughter, after four years of being off the music scene.

Many are reporting that the new tracks have a bit of an 80s vibe to them, so we can't wait to hear it.

Singer and songwriter Bridy bewitched the nation at the age of 14 with her cover of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love, yet even with all the fame, she still has had to do a lot of growing up.

While her friends lived leisurely, teenage lives – studying, shopping, socialising – Birdy, at 19-years-old, has released three albums and toured the world.

Five years into her career and now a young adult, Birdy has flown the nest and moved to London which is a major change for her naturally shy personality.

Her new album, Beautiful Lies, chronicles a critical period of self-discovery and newfound independence for Birdy. This is the sound of a young woman stretching her wings and taking flight.

Due to popular demand, Birdy is playing a second show in Dublin's Olympia Theatre on October 26. Tickets will be on sale through Ticket Master on June 17 at €40.05.

Grimes's gigs are generally full of electronic dance madness, but there was a bit too much electricity even for her last night.

The Canadian singer was at Dublin's Olympia Theatre for the (sold-out) final leg of her European tour, but unfortunately had to cut out much of her set due to severe technical issues.

Within minutes of kicking off, the singer, real name Claire Boucher, had to stop mid-song, explaining that her PA and sound equipment had malfunctioned.

Loud blasts of sound – and possibly electricity – coming through her earpiece meant she couldn't continue and had to stop during various tracks to try to fix the issue.

Like a true professional, she powered on through, and luckily the crowd didn't seem too bothered, even giving her a rendition of Happy Birthday after she revealed during one gap in her set that her birthday was in fact on St Patrick's Day.

While Grimes did tell the crowd at various points that she was being "electrocuted," Twitter's vocab pedants have stepped in to set the record straight:

Electrically shocked – yes. Electrocuted – no (thankfully).

Having lost half of her equipment at Heathrow Airport before her 2012 gig at Electic Picnic, poor Grimes doesn't have a great track record with Irish gigs, but she doesn't seem to have shunned the Emerald Isle just yet.

She was hanging out in the Phoenix Park yesterday and has promised she'll be back to "visit castles" soon:

Here's hoping her next trip over here goes heaps more smoothly.
