Emma Watson

Reddit has been responsible for some pretty interesting, and amazing things, as well as some other questionable events but we won’t dwell on those.

However, it is where That Nordic Guy, a digital artist, and his incredible work was first appreciated.

Since then, Buzzfeed have also caught on to his genius and over the past number of days we have been overwhelmed by an awful lot beauty taking over the internet. For example, Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer and Emma Watson.

That Nordic Guy is responsible for digitally altering the faces of some of our favourite, and most genetically blessed celebs. In doing so, he morphs their features to somehow make them even more beautiful than you imagined.

We know it sounds pretty creepy, and the internet it flooded with ridiculous celebrity memes and face swapping trends. These however are entirely different. They are actually quite stunning.

According to the man himself, he started doing this work when he needed original characters to put faces to the names of those he had created for a short story.

Five years later, and we are still in awe of these images. Seriously, you have to take a look. We think you will be quite impressed.

This one even moves:

Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox:

Taylor Swift and Emma Watson:

Colin Farrell and The Terminator even got combined:

And all of the Hemsworths, basically:

Our minds are blown.

Close to a year after splitting from rugby player Matt Janney, Emma Watson has opened up about how difficult the whole ordeal was for her.

But rather than stock up on Ben & Jerry's or go overboard on a mad night out, the Harry Potter actress used a decidedly different coping technique in the midst of the break-up… a week long vow of silence.

"I went on a silent retreat, because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself," the actress admits in the current issue of Vogue UK, for which she is the September cover star.

Emma revealed that she booked into a private facility in the Canadian Rocky Mountains where all residents must remain in silence for seven full days.

In fact, the actress felt so lost and down in herself that she checked into the facility even before her romance with Matt was officially over. "I felt really uncomfortable, even before my relationship ended," she said of her extreme decision.

Emma and Matthew split at the of 2014 after over a year together, and the actress describes their break-up as "horrendous." However she is quick to point out that for the most part her love life has been positive, saying that in general past boyfriends have made her feel "really cherished. They've built me up."

Prior to Matt, Emma's boyfriends included her college sweetheart Will Adamowicz, her Perks Of Being A Wallflower co-star Johnny Simmons and One Night Only frontman George Craig.

And has Emma's Hollywood status made it difficult for her to maintain a normal relationship? No, she says, though it does make things a little unbalanced. "I certainly haven't found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I've struggled in my love life," she said. "I just think it's very patronizing towards men. It undermines them."

From the Philosopher's Stone to the Deathly Hallows, the Harry Potter books have enthralled readers since the very first one was released back in 1997.

By 2007, JK Rowling had concluded her seven-part literary series – and millions of enthusiasts have been desperate for further instalments ever since.

The Scottish author last year announced that she would pen a spin-off play, The Cursed Child, but has otherwise been cautious about implying that the books themselves are anything less than done and dusted.

"I’m not going to say I won’t. I don’t think I will… I feel I am done, but you never know," she said back in 2010.

Such ambiguity is enough to fuel hope too – and many woke this morning to discover that #newHarryPotterbooks was trending globally on Twitter. It was a hashtag which, understandably, sent fans into total meltdown.

Alas, sadly Ms Rowling didn't make any sort of surprise statement this morning – rather the #newHarryPotterbooks movement was kicked-off by Midnight, a late night Comedy Central game show hosted by Chris Hardwick.

The show had asked Twitter users to come up with alternative Harry Potter titles… and evidently it REALLY took off.

In the aftermath, however, many were less than impressed when they discovered that they'd inadvertently been dubbed.

And – inevitably – the odd tongue-in-cheek response also duly followed.

Although, fans could be forgiven for getting their hopes up: JK Rowling often takes to social media to promote new material. She also regularly answers questions from readers via Twitter.

She furthermore used to platform to reveal details of the three forthcoming Newt Scamander spin-off films she has written for Warner online.

Eddie Redmayne, who plays the lead in the Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them trilogy, based on a Hogwarts text book read by Harry, is currently filming the first of the films, which is due out on 16 November 2016.

Ms Rowling is due to publish the third in a crime series written under the pen name Robert Galbraith this October.

If there's one celebrity who knows how to surround herself with strong women, it's Taylor Swift.

With a band of friends that already includes Lena Dunham, Lorde, Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner and more, over the weekend Tay added another fierce member to her squad.

After a sellout concert to 65,000 in London's Hyde Park, the singer was pictured looking cosy with none other than actress and gender equality activist Emma Watson. UK musician Lauren Aquilina shared a group photo via Twitter showing herself, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt and of course Taylor, with her arm around a VERY happy Emma:

"Spent tonight surrounded by badass girls and couldn't be happier about it," Lauren captured the photo. Within minutes Twitter exploded with fans trying to get their head around what has to be the ultimate cool-girl pairing:

While Emma seemed content to enjoy Taylor's show from the stands, the Blank Space singer couldn't resist getting some of her other pals to join her during the concert.

Models Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid and tennis star Serena Williams took to the stage along with Kendall, Martha and Karlie during Taylor's performance of Style:

What a team!

Before flying across to Dublin this morning (!!), Taylor enjoyed a spot of sightseeing yesterday with yet another gang of celebrity friends. "Little known fact: Karlie is secretly an unofficial historian/London tour guide. Kind of," wrote the singer, sharing a photo of herself, her new mam Calvin Harris, Joe Jonas and Karlie posing in front of London's Tower Bridge.

Wonder if she's looking for an unofficial tour guide in Dublin, too…

Roll on 2017! It might be early days yet for the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie, but we are already getting butterflies.

With Emma Watson signed on as Belle, Luke Evans as Gaston, Dan Stevens as Beast, Frozen's Josh Gad as LeFou and Ian McKellen as Cogsworth the clock, it has to be one of the most well casted films in quite a while.

Yesterday we finally got a first glimpse at a cast picture, when Josh posted this cute group shot of himself, Dan, Luke and Kevin Kline (Maurice) all together, captioning it, "Can't wait for you to be our guest."

Can't wait for you to be our guest.

Turns out even Emma Watson finds the world of dating hard to navigate.

The actress took part in a life #HeForShe webcast yesterday, International Women's Day, as part of her work with the UN's gender equality campaign.

She admitted that she has struggled to make all elements of her own personal life more equal, and opened up about an "awkward" date where she tried to even out the gender imbalance by picking the restaurant herself and paying for the meal.

"It was really awkward and uncomfortable. It was not going down well. I'm sure he would say he was a feminist but he was just like, 'ooh, I'm not really sure about this', it was making him feel a bit tetchy," she said.

However the actress said it wasn't all bad, as the bumpy start meant she was able to chat to her date about some issues that meant a lot to her. "The cool thing about it was that we were both willing to have the conversation about why it was awkward, why it was uncomfortable. We were able to have this dialogue."

Emma said she loves being treated on a date but that she wanted to give something new a try. "I love having the door opened for me. I love being taken to dinner, it's so great. I think the key is: would you then mind if I opened the door for you?"  she explained.

Good woman Emma – we love that attitude!

It looks like there can be only one Harry in Emma Watson's life and it certainly isn't Prince William's little brother if her latest sassy tweet is anything to go by!

Earlier this week, reports and rumours circulated that the Harry Potter star was getting cosy with the royal and had even been enjoying secret trysts with the gorgeous red head prince, but Emma is clearly determined to put an end to the story and took to social media to do it!

By tweeting: "WORLD. Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written iin the media?", Emma appeared to quash rumours with just one sentence and it seems like this was all Emma's fans and followers needed to hear to know there was nothing to those romantic reports.

Emma's quirky message was retweeted 9,000 times and received a massive 16,000 likes in the first 30 minutes alone!

Commenting on the actress's post, one fan wrote: "Oh Emma, bringing the world back to reality as per usual! I knew it sounded more than ridiculous that you would be dating Harry!"

The 24-year-old actress, who will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast, certainly knows how to get her point across in less than 140 characters!

Emma Watson has confirmed that she will be taking on the role of Belle in the upcoming live-action version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!

We have to say, whatever casting director made that decision may just be a genius – we genuinely cannot think of a more perfect actress to take on the gutsy, book-loving role of Belle!

Emma made the announcement on her Facebook page, writing: “I'm finally able to tell you… that I will be playing Belle in Disney's new live-action Beauty and the Beast! It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There'. My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma xx”

The news comes only days after Emma was praised for an eloquent speech she gave as part of #HeforShe. It has been seven months since the actress was announced as an UN Women's Goodwill Ambassador and the work she has been doing is truly incredible.

We think you’re going to be fabulous, congratulations Emma!

Now all that is left to know is…who will Beast be played by?! We have a few requests…

Emma Watson made headlines four months ago when she gave an eloquent and moving speech to the UN about gender inequality.

Now the actress has spoken out on the issue again, taking to the stage at the Davos World Economic Forum in her role as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.

The Harry Potter star said she was "stunned" by the response to her original speech and her call for men and women to work harder in the fight against gender inequality.

"Everything from marathons being run, merchandise being created, 15-year-old boys writing to national newspapers deploring female discrimination, young girls collecting hundreds of signatures –  it’s all happened in the last four months,” she said. “I couldn’t have dreamed it, but it’s happened. Thank you so much.”

Emma told the forum's audience about the new IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative, which asks people from all walks of life to share their gender equality stories and to tell the world what they are doing as part of the #HeForShe project.

"Girls, who have been your mentors? Parents, did you make sure you treated your children equally? If so, how have you done it? Husbands, have you been supporting your female partner privately so that she can fulfil her dreams too? Young men, have you spoken up in a conversation when a woman was casually degraded or dismissed?" asked the star.

She continued by asking people to be transparent about their actions and to share them with others. "Decide what your commitment is, make it public and then please report back to us on your progress, so that we can share your story," said the actress.

We’re all aware of the popularity and growth of the ‘list’. I’m guilty of both writing and reading my fair share of these articles; the format floods our newsfeeds these days and, if you’ll excuse the fluffy marketing speak, the online audience in particular seems to love snackable, shareable content like this.

Although articles of this nature can be on the subject of just about anything, I’ve noticed that they veer towards the judgemental and often it’s made me come to a certain conclusion: that ranking women (and men – it just seems to happen more frequently with females) is a bit of a pointless exercise.

Take GQ, for example. Google 'GQ top 20 coolest', and you'll see that they like to list everything, from hamburgers, to albums, to graphic novels… to women. One of the most amusing and ridicule-worthy pieces I came across was a pretty sexist one about the female characters in Game of Thrones, entitled ‘The Westeros Hot 100’. It’s an awful shame to see characters from a show that portrays women in powerful, pivotal, multi-faceted roles boiled down in just a few lines (example: ‘Ygritte. Fan of oral sex’). It’s a cheap trick to reduce complex, well-written characters reduced to nothing but their sexual worth. Is there any real function to declaring that Khaleesi, the ‘dragon MILF’, is the hottest?!

And another point. At a very basic level, it seems futile and meaningless to list women from 1-20 or 1-100 in this manner – we're all good at different things, right? This isn’t like the Leaving Cert – what is the purpose of ranking Kendall Jenner above Emma Watson on a 'cool' list, when they have completely different careers, personalities, goals and quirks? I realised this myself when a friend sent me this list. I was surprised that Kendall was #1, and annoyed that three models (Kendall, Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid, FYI), came ahead of Emma Watson.

Subsequently, I got quite annoyed and frustrated at myself for presuming that Emma Watson is smarter and thus more ‘important’ in my mind than three models, simply because it’s well-known that she’s in an Ivy League school and is quite the activist. But that’s my prerogative. Having said that, I do feel bad when I realise how strong my own proclivity for judgement is… I’m far from perfect myself.

A lot of this is junk content, and there’s no excuse for it. It lowers the tone and compromises the future of writing as a proper profession. Even in concise pieces, it is possible to scale down on the quantity and not quality of writing. I’ve also realised how silly the whole thing is when you're not measuring like with like. In that case, why are we all so preoccupied with these lists and polls when they make absolutely no sense?! Their popularity reigns supreme because of human nature; we’re predisposed to argue and debate rankings and polls until the cows come home.

What is beyond debate, though, is that we cannot and should not put anyone into boxes. We’re all guilty of judging people, particularly public figures, based on mostly their appearance and a smattering of meagre facts. I’ve said before that I sometimes worry that my entire generation has forgotten how to think independently. Well, if we’re prone to group thought, let’s make a group decision; let’s be kinder to ourselves and to celebrities, and quit the trash talk.
