After preparing her followers for a huge announcement yesterday, Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she has signed up for a Las Vegas residency.

She will play the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino from January 20 next year.

The star informed her fans that she is "so excited!!!" and went on to say: "I've been preparing for this moment for my entire life."

The former American Idol judge said: "The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny From The Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love—dance, hip hop, Latin and pop. It's going to be the show I've always dreamt of creating."

Tickets for J-Lo's first 20 performances will go on sale on Saturday. She will be performing on numerous dates in January, February, May and June.

Although the details of her contract haven't been revealed, the likes of Britney Spears and Celine Dion are getting €420,000 per performance which means by the end of it they have managed to pocket themselves up to a whopping €59 million.

Here are some of the high-profile names that you will be able to see in Vegas…

Mariah Carey
The Diva kicked off her residency at Caesar's Palace on May 6, 2015.

It was inspired by Mariah's album Number 1's which combined 13 of her number one singles.

On The Ellen Show previously she had said: "Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I've never done this before."

She is performing the first 18 performances for 9 dates in May, and a further 9 in July.

Britney Spears
Britney has a two year residency called "Britney Spears: Piece of Me" at Planet Hollywood, which began on December 27, 2013 along with the release of her eighth studio album.

However, the princess of pop is no stranger to Vegas, she performed at the 2001 MGM Grand Garden Arena which was the basis for her Britney Spears Live from Vegas concert movie.

She was signed up to play 50 shows in both 2014 and 2015 but had to cancel a few shows recently due to an injured ankle after falling on stage.

Her residency has now been extended for an extra three months.

Chris Brown
Chris kicked off his Las Vegas residency at Drai's Beachclub and Nightclub on May 2.

His residency will not be as frequent as that of Britney Spears, and he is not set to perform again until July 4. There will definitely be more shows, but the dates have not yet been confirmed.

Celine Dion
Celine first began her residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2003, this ran up until 2007.

She began a new three-year residency in 2011 where she performed 70 shows a year.

The singer took time out last summer to take care of her sick husband, René. However, she is due to return in August.
