The Crown has found its Princess Anne, and we’re very excited

We unashamedly binge-watched the first two series of The Crown, like most of the country in fairness!

We were engrossed by Queen Elizabeth's power and vulnerability and, at times, appalled by Prince Phillip's behaviour, and were devastated when it came to an end.

And while the show's highly anticipated return is not going to hit for another while yet (2019, people), we have some news about the third series to keep us going until then.

This next season is expected to cover the years 1964 into the 1970s, and the show has already found its new Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman), Prince Philip (Tobias Menzies), Princess Margaret (Helena Bonham Carter), and Harold Wilson (Jason Watkins).

Billy Jenkins is rumoured to be playing Prince Charles (who will be ages 16 through to his 20s in the third series). And now, the actress playing another one of Elizabeth's children has been confirmed.

According to The Hollywood ReporterErin Doherty will be playing Princess Anne from ages 14 to her early 20s.

The actress has been in an episode of Call the Midwife and is appearing in the TV mini-series of Les Mis as Fabienne.

Erin trained at the Bristol Old Vic theatre company, and definitely bears some resemblance to young Princess Anne!

What do you think of the casting choice?
