Grey hair

We (or a lot of us) have them – pesky grey hairs.

Do we cave and colour our hair every few weeks or let the natural roots shine through?

This regular question we ask ourselves is one that Stacey Soloman does too – another reason she is so relatable.

The Loose Women panellist appeared on the show with fresh brunette locks and we noticed that her hair looked even more fab than usual.

The 29-year-old took to Instagram to reveal what she had done differently to it – as well as give us some much-needed advice on hiding grey hairs.

She posted a gorgeous snap of herself and captioned it, ''I can honestly say there’s no need to go to the shops and buy anything. All I’ve done is stopped bleaching. I’ve also left my hair alone for the last few weeks! No hot irons or curls and it’s worked wonders! I hate to admit it but bleach and lots of heat will kill your hair to beyond the point of saving!'

The mum-of-two continued, ''I’m going to try and touch up my grey hairs with eyeshadow and only wash and put heat on my hair once a week! The ultimate goal is to have long, thick, healthy mermaid hair.''

It seems that we've had the answer all along – eyeshadow.

Her followers were in awe of the nifty tip.

One said, ''Oooh eyeshadow on the greys I’ve been using waterproof mascara! I might try this.''

While another wrote, ''I use a product that looks like brown eyeshadow ( comes in many shades) but it's waterproof and only comes out after shampooing.''

A third added, ''Such a lovely look, and your hair looks fab. So refreshing to hear it’s a case of nature taking its course (as opposed to promoting products). Lovely!''

Excuse us while we head off to stock up on dark brown eyeshadow.

Are you on the hunt for a new 'do', but have no idea what to go for?

Well, allow us to try and tell you why grey hair is the coolest hair colour of the moment (yes, really!)

The colour tones suit hair styles of all lengths, from choppy bobs to long luscious locks.

Grey hair also looks ridiculously good tied up in a pony tail, or in a precious fishtail plait.

Katie Price is never the one to shy away from the spotlight – especially with her wild fashion choices. And today was one of those days that she really stood out.

While appearing on Loose Women, the the former model revealed brand new hair – and it's GREY (with a lilac tinge)!

However, her fans absolutely loved the change, and took to Twitter to sing her praises:

One user even asked when her hair piece/wig line is coming out – and we can't help but think she'll do better than Kylie Jenner in that department.

During her appearance on the show, Katie spoke about all the cosmetic work she used to have done on herself.

"There were times when my lips were so big that I looked like Daffy Duck," she said.

"I looked so bad. It was vile. It's gone in one big circle now. When I started page thee years ago, it was massive thing to have your boobs done. Now it's the other way around.

"I've been lucky really. Some people get their lips done and they never go down. Mine have."

There are many myths and old wives' tales about grey hair – and many of them will make you worry.

But, Women's Health recently spoke to dermatologist Howard Sobel and he cleared up what is fact and what is fiction about your future head of hair.

Myth: If you see a grey hair pop up, you're on your way to a full head of silver soon.

False: Howard says that this isn't true for everyone. By the time you reach 30, you will naturally have a few grey hairs. While some may continue to grey as the years go on, others may just stall at those few strands for years to come.

Myth: If you pluck a grey hair, two will grow back in its place.

False: “Plucking grey hair won’t increase the number of grey hairs that will grow in its place, but the ones that grow back will still be grey,” explains Howard. But be careful, because if you pluck a strand you might damage the hair follicle and then NO hair will grow back in its place.

Myth: The age your mother went grey is a good estimate for when you will turn grey.

True: “Genetics will generally predict when your hair starts to go grey,” says Mr Sobel. However, environmental factors can also come into play.

Myth: You can give yourself grey hair from stressing too much.

Possibly True: “The supply of melanocyte stem cells that colour hair deplete as we age, and stress may make someone who is predisposed to grey hair go grey sooner,” says Howard.

Myth: Dying your hair constantly can bring on grey hair.

False: Hair dye has absolutely no relationship with grey hair, so this is completely untrue. However, your hair can take a beating from extreme colouring so be sure to condition and be kind to your do'.

Avoid pulling it out

Go for a plait
French braids or plaits are a perfect way to tuck away stray grey hairs. They are also look pretty – added bonus.

Use a little make-up
If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to colour, eye shadow can be your best friend. Make sure you pick a colour that matches your hair and gently dab a little onto your roots. Ta-da!

If all else fails go for the bottle…

A permanent hair colouring  is the ultimate hair fix. Either go to the shops or treat yourself to a pampering session at the hair salon.
