
Polls are now officially open in the United Kingdom General Election
Voting is currently under way in the UK General Election, with polling stations opening across the country.
Heightened security has been introduced at some polling stations in the wake of the recent wave of terror attacks.

The campaigning for this election was suspended twice.
The first instance was after the Manchester attack at Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman concert, during which 22 people were killed by a suicide bomber.
It was suspended a second time after the London Bridge attack, which saw seven people lose their lives.

The counting of ballots will begin when polls close at 10pm.
It is expected that there will be an indication as to whether Labour or Conservatives took the lead in this election by tomorrow morning.
