Breaking up? The 1D lads’ hiatus might not be so ‘temporary’ after all

by

2015 was by all means a rollercoaster year for the One Direction lads, after they lost a member, dropped some killer album tracks… and announced their hiatus.

The foursome revealed they'd be taking at least two years out from music, which you can safely assume probably means it'll be more like four or five years, unless they're offered a seriously good deal from their record company.

However a new source today suggests the lads have no plans to reunite EVER again – although the evidence supporting that definitely seems a bit shaky.

Niall, Harry, Louis and Liam decided "not to renew their recording contract" after wrapping their tour in October, the insider says.

"The 1D thing just ran its course. They’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers."

Considering this "hiatus" has always been sold as "at least two years," to us it seems like no surprise that a new contract wasn't signed.

But for some 1D fans, it's come as a bit of a shock:

The lads themselves have yet to address today's reports on their own social media, but we're guessing it won't be long.
