So this story seems just bonkers to us. 

An Italian woman is facing up to six years in jail for "mistreating her family," according to an Italian news source. 

And what is meant by this mistreatment? Well she is just not performing her wifely duties such as cooking and cleaning. 

Because apparently that's a valid reason to take a person to court. 

Yep, her husband is taking his 40-year-old wife to court because he simply feels "insulted" by the way his wife has been allegedly neglected their home in Sonnino, south-central Italy. 

The 47-year-old man brought the charges because he felt his wife had demonstrated "poor management of the household chores."

According to the Local, the poor aul man has been forced to "live in condition with poor hygiene," and that his wife simply does not cook enough to his satisfaction. 

The woman is due to appear in court in October. 

We simply can't.
