30 minutes of exercise, five days a week can seem like a lot, but what if we could do 60 minutes, maybe twice a week?

According to an article published in Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, frequency doesn’t matter as long as you get 150 minutes of exercise weekly.

Study author Ian Janssen, from the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen’s University in Canada believes “the total amount, type, and intensity of activity all have a much greater affect on your body than frequency.”

However, before you pick up a one day exercise, six day rest regime, bear in mind it won’t help you reach your goals. It will likely lead to muscle soreness as well because while you are working out less days a week you are going for longer periods of time.

So, stick to your 30 minutes, five days and to be honest, it sounds a lot easier than 150 minutes of intensive workouts one day a week.
