Finding the right brow artist or technician is like finding the perfect pair of jeans – it takes a lot of trial, error and patience.

But, when you've found the one (well the one that shapes, threads and tints to perfection), there's STILL plenty of brow blunder you make at home.

Here are some things your brow artist wish you'd knew – or listen to.

Resist the urge to tweeze strays

Hair grows back in one full cycle so you don't need to pluck stray hairs. It makes it so much easier for the artist if you don't and you get a much more defined shape when grooming.

Plucking in between treatments often break the hairs, leaving ingrown hairs behind. This means your brows won't last to their full potential.

Work with Mother Nature

Using the wrong shade or extending the shape of your eyebrows is a big no-no! Always choose a colour that's closest to your natural tone, or just one shade darker if you're looking for a bold brow.

Always work with your natural brow shape too, and if you want to accentuate it, only do so at the arch.

Leave the tweezers alone

We've all over-plucked at least once in our lives, so learn from your mistakes! Over-plucking means that you might loose your natural brow shape which can change your facial expression altogether!

To make sure you are shaping them correctly, take a pencil and place it on the side of your nose, like in the picture above. This shows you where your brow should start.

Then angle the pencil from the bottom corner of your nose to the edge of your eye to find where your brow should end.

Next, look straight ahead place the pencil where your iris is, this shows where your arch should be.
