Newly-single Khloé releases FIRST statement about Lamar Odom

After a week of radio silence, Khloé Kardashian has finally made a statement regarding the hospitalisation of Lamar Odom.

The reality star – who is said to have cut all romantic ties with her boyfriend James Harden – returned to LA today with Lamar after spending a week in Las Vegas at his bedside.

"The past week has been incredibly difficult," Khloe wrote on her website.

"I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar.

"I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work.

"Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made."

Lamar was helicoptered back to LA today where he will continue physical rehabilitation over the coming months, after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel over a week ago.

Just a few days ago his chances of survival were said to be 50/50, but over the weekend he began making positive steps towards recovery, waking from his coma and speaking to family and friends.

"You can never be prepared for an experience like this," Khloé's statement continued.

"But without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure.

"Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!"

This is the first time Khloé has publicly spoken since Lamar's hospitalisation. Her social media accounts have been inactive for the last six days, though that will no doubt change over the next 24 hours.

Khloé and Lamar ended their marriage of four years back in 2013, but did not file for divorce until this year.

However a supposed "delay" in California's family law courts means the pair are in fact still legally married, with Khloé taking on all medical decisions for her husband over the last week.
