Ever fancied a stay in a real life doll house?

Well, thanks to one super talented interior architect and the magic of online bookings, now you can.

The iconic house at the gates of Rathaspeck Manor in Co Wexford has fascinated locals for years and now it has finally been opened to the public.

The building was re-roofed and re-painted in 2014 with aid from the Irish Heritage Council, but has remained unoccupied since.

The owners, Mick and Betty Cuddihy, who also run the five star Rathaspeck Manor B&B, decided to open the Doll's House as a self-catering home but recognised that they would need to re-vamp the interior to fit with the house's unique and quirky style.

In order to achieve this they enlisted the help of Ann-Marie Arcadia Architects to assist.

The interior is zoned into small rooms, each with their own personality.

They are filled with objects and trinkets from second-hand stores, as well as a collection of forgotten family heirlooms from the main house.

The Doll's House is available to book through AirBnb or the Rathaspeck Website

Sligo is a county that rarely gets the credit it deserves.

A place that is rich with history, mythology and breathtaking landscapes, it really is a great place to visit for a few days.

Not only is it the resting place of one of the world's most famous poets, but it also has great places to eat and relax.

Whether you are planning your getaway, or have returned, here are six thing that everyone who visits Sligo will discover…

You can have lunch at WB Yeats’ grave

“Under bare Benbulben’s head” is the grave of famed WB Yeats. However, this is not your typical cold, sad graveyard. There is a wonderful little gift shop located on the grounds of the graveyard, along with a café. Get the chicken salad sandwich, fyi.

Lissadell house has the BEST jam in the nation

Are you a jam aficionado? WELL, get yourself to Lissadell House for afternoon tea, and experience homemade preserves that will rock your world. They are truly exceptional.

The seaweed baths are KING

Sligo is home to the best seaweed baths in the country. While the concept of getting into a bath of green sea slime is gross (we appreciate that), you will leave feeling relaxed, and with the smoothest skin you've ever had. A great way to pamper yourself.

You can visit fairies

Sligo is a county that is rich is ancient Irish myths and folklore. Gillighan's World is described as “Sligo’s fairy wonderland” and is nestled under the shadow of Knocknashee. It is a mythical park which encapsulates the world of the Irish fairy and their timeless legacy of magic and mystery. Fun for all ages we PROMISE (and there's a deadly gift shop).

If you climb Knocknarea, you’ll meet a queen

Knocknarea is a mountain that many people climb while visiting this glorious county. What most people don't realise is, that at the top of this mountain is the grave of Queen Medbh of Connacht. The tomb is unexcavated, and dates back to around 3000BC.

You can camp in an airplane

If you are looking for somewhere to stay while visiting Sligo, why not set up camp in a Boeing 747? There is a glamping park in the Enniscrone area of Sligo that is home to some weird and wonderful options. You can sleep in a taxi rank, or in a train yard or even at a bus stop! While not officially open, the quirky glamping company are taking bookings for early 2017.

Sligo… you're only fantastic.

Weekends away with your other half are a chance to relax, unwind and reacquaint yourselves with each other minus the stress of work and responsibilities.

Oh, why can’t we have a weekend away EVERY weekend? Well, because they aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, that’s why.

Here are just a few reasons they don't pan out as planned.

Expectation: Your hotel bedroom will look like the suite in Pretty Woman.
Reality: Your hotel bedroom will look like the €59.00 room you paid for.

Expectation: You will have a long, lingering, romantic bath together.
Reality: You will have a bruise on your bum after slipping in the broken shower.

Expectation: You’ll order room service and have breakfast in bed.
Reality: You’ll order your boyfriend to give you the energy bar you saw in his sports bag last night. Mmm… squishy.

Expectation: You’ll languish on your kingsize bed in robes and chat about your future.
Reality: You’ll languish outside in the hall because staring at that brown swirly bedroom carpet is making you claustro.

Expectation: You’ll take a long romantic walk on the beach.
Reality: You’ll take a long, romantic walk around the Joe Dolan statue…which is nowhere near the sea…something you knew when you booked your €59 room in the midlands.

Expectation: You’ll swan through the hotel lobby like that couple everyone wants to be.
Reality: You’ll swan off furiously because he lost the damn swipe card for the room.

Expectation: He’ll meet you in the hotel bar and you’ll gorge on each other’s fabulousness all evening.
Reality: He’ll meet you wandering around the lobby looking confused because the bedroom carpet gave you a mild migraine.

Expectation: You’ll have mad, passionate sex on your king size bed, then the floor, then the bed again, then the chair…
Reality: You’ll have mediocre sex once all weekend because the damn mattress is squeakier than Joe Pasquale.

Expectation: You’ll want to do it all over again.
Reality: You’ll want to do it all over again.

Awwww!
