Angie Bowie has decide to stay in the Big Brother house after the show's bosses broke the news to her that her ex-husband, David Bowie has died.

TV bosses confirmed the news this afternoon, after they spoke to her off-camera and told her of David's battle with cancer and his passing last night.

A statement from Channel 5 read: "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives.

"She has taken the decision to continue in the programme. The decision to remain in the house is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind.

"Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed."

Angie was married to David for ten years and they divorced in 1980. They have one child together, Duncan, who shared a heartbreaking tweet about his father this morning.
