Eoghan Quigg

Back in the day, Eoghan Quigg posters were plastered on teen girl's lockers in school and there were probably plenty a schoolbag that had 'I <3 EQ' sprawled in TipEx on them.

However, after his stint on the X Factor, Eoghan retreated from the limelight and wasn't really ever seen again.

Until now, because guess what? He wants to make his way back to the world of fame.

The 24-year-old appeared on This Morning yesterday and revealed that he wants to make his way back onto the charts.

"I went back and did the whole education thing, I’ve done the whole university thing and have gone back to gigging now. Just acoustic stuff and I mean, I am loving it," he said.

Let's hope this time round he makes it!

He was the cutie from Derry – who went on to reach the finals of 2008's X Factor. Indeed, he finished third behind only Alexandra Burke and runners-up JLS.

And while Eoghan Quigg made an unsuccessful bid to represent Ireland at last year's Eurovision (not to mention a disastrous solo album offering early 2009) he's otherwise been absent from the music scene.

Still, here at SHEmazing! we were delighted to stumble upon his Instagram account – a platform on which he boasts some 6,000 followers.

There, the now 23-year-old shares snap-shots from his life – and it seems that he's a lover of football, working out, and tattoos.

And while back in the day he courted PLENTY of attention from the ladies (not to mention a certain fellow X Factor contestant Diana Vickers) it doesn't seem that the former singer has anyone special in his life right now.

Form an orderly queue, folks!

Finally something interesting happens on The Late Late Show!

Things nearly ended in a physical fight during last night’s Eurosong competition between Louis Walsh, Linda Martin and Aslan’s Billy McGuinness.

After Billy called the competition a fix due to Louis’ association with two of the acts, Linda marched into the audience to confront the Aslan musician and things got so heated, Tubridy was forced to step in between them.

You have to watch it.

Former X Factor contestant Eoghan Quigg is in the running to perform this year’s Irish contribution to the Eurovision contest.

One of five possible acts to take on the seemingly impossible task of winning the Eurovison for Ireland, Eoghan, who came third place in the 2008 X Factor at only 16 years of age,  will be performing The Movie Song written by Karl Broderick.

His album, self-titled Eoghan Quigg, was released in April 2009 and reached number one in Ireland.

Oh, and just so you know, here is what he looks like now:
