Coronas frontman Danny O'Reilly is set to join Today FM as part of the station's new weekend lineup.

The Heroes or Ghosts singer – who previously dated TV presenter Laura Whitmore – will host his own eight-week series which will focus on the role music plays in the lives some of Ireland's best known faces.

Former 2FM DJ, Hector Ó hEochagáin, will also have his own show on Sundays called Hector’s Sunday Sitting Room.

Describing his new venture, Hector said: “I’ll be bringing the craic and keeping listeners company as they journey home on Sunday evenings, all to the backdrop of an eclectic upbeat soundtrack."

"Just think of it as Hector’s Sunday Sitting Room and the key is in the door – you’re all invited!”

Today FM's new schedule will start Saturday July 2.

Danny O'Reilly has been on and off with TV presenter Laura Whitmore for years now, but it seems he officially has a new woman in his life.

According to the Irish Herald, the Irish heartthrob is rumoured to be seeing former Miss Ireland, Holly Carpenter.

What a handsome couple!

Danny, 29,  rose to success with his distinctive voice and catchy songs as part of his band the Coronas and is the son of well know Irish singer Mary Black.

According to a source close to the pair, Danny and the 24-year-old stunner have been getting pretty cosy over the last few weeks.

"It's been going on for a few weeks now and things have been going well. He's really busy with the band. They're in Australia at the moment touring and she's flying it with her modelling career, so it's still early days.

"But they've lots in common and are just taking it as it comes."

This is the first reported romantic link for Irish model since she broke it off with Cian in July of last year.

Danny has been on and off with his ex Laura since 2012 but despite being snapped getting cosy only back in May of this year, it would seem their tumultuous relationship is over for good.

So move over Bressie and Roz! There is definitely a new Irish IT couple in town.

The Coronas are supposed to be going on a world tour this November. However, it looks like New Zealand will be one country they will have to take off their wish-list.

Frontman Danny O’Reilly has admitted that he is a “wanted man” in the country and it doesn’t think he’ll be allowed in any time soon.

He was speaking with Spin 1038 when it was revealed that there is a warrant out for his arrest which means it is “proving difficult” for the band’s manager to sort out a visit for the boys.

“There is a warrant for my arrest and this is the most rock ‘n’ roll thing that’s ever happened to me, but I am going to say it’s for a speeding ticket so it is not that cool.”

He explained that he was 21 at the time and on a trip with his friends when he ended up getting himself into some trouble. The band's manager Jim Lawless has now been tasked with sorting out the issue so the band can get themselves in front of a New Zealand crowd.

Before they jet off around the world though, the band will be playing some gigs closer to home. They have been scheduled to headline the Cork Jazz Festival on October 24, alongside acts such as the Boomtown Rats, Aslan, The Drifters and Gary Numan.

We can't help but wonder though, what does mom Mary Black think about Danny's criminal snafu?

Rumours quickly spread yesterday about whether Laura Whitmore was back together with her ex Danny O'Reilly after the pair were spotted having lunch and strolling through a London park. Many thought they were just meeting up as friends, but we weren't so sure.

However, it appears that the Coronas frontman has rekindled his love with the TV presenter after people spotted them locking lips in the park.

An onlooker told Goss.ie: "They were rolling around together in the grass, they looked totally in love.”

“Danny had his hands all over Laura and they looked completely smitten,” they said.

Their friends are delighted that they are back together as a source told Goss.ie: "All of their friends have wanted them back together since their split. They make a great couple and everyone is so happy for them.”

“They are made for each other and we all hoped they would get back together,” they added.

The couple split in 2012 as Laura was about to present I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! NOW!.

Danny was left completely heartbroken but later said that music and touring helped him to get through it.

Eeeeek, we hope this lasts!

It appears love may, once again, be in the air for Laura Whitmore and the Coronas frontman, Danny O'Reilly.

The pair were photographed having lunch together and enjoying a stroll through a park in London's Primrose hill.

They were both smiling and really enjoying each others company as they took Laura's dog for a walk.

Laura later took to Twitter to say: "Will never get use to finding out someone had taken my picture without me knowing. Also learned I make some seriously unflattering faces.”

The adorable couple split in December 2012, and Danny was said to have been heartbroken afterwards.

Danny claims music helped him to get over the split, after Laura ended it before jetting off to Australia to present I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! NOW!

This comes after recent speculation that Laura is romantically involved with One Direction's Niall Horan, but, judging by these new photographs we aren't so sure!

Danny O’Reilly has spoken out about the heartbreak he endured after breaking up with Laura Whitmore.

The Coronas front man says that he was lucky to be busy on tour at the time: "When I did go through the breakup, at the time we were touring around Europe just after it happened, and thank God for that.

“It definitely made it a bit easier for me that we were on tour and busy and getting that therapy every night playing music.”

The music he was playing was about the girl he had just broken up with though, so it can’t have been easy singing those songs: “I would have moments like that where I was a bit emotional for a bit of a song. But you get on with it and thankfully the gig gets you through it.

“Sometimes I look back at songs that were happy songs about the start of the relationship and they are bitter sweet.

“I look at them from a different angle now. I think, ‘Oh God, that was nice when I felt that way. I thought everything was so simple.

“But I think that’s just the price you pay as a songwriter.”

Danny explains how writing songs can be therapeutic, and he still sings songs about his first girlfriend!

“Sometimes it can be theraputic [writing songs]. So at the time, when things are going wrong, sometimes I will write a song right there about what’s going on.

“I still sing songs about my first ever girlfriend now. It doesn’t make it harder. I enjoy singing the songs.

“I always say about song writing, it’s the way I was feeling at that particular time. I don’t go through it every night.”
