It's safe to say many of us were devastated last year when Clerys was shut down.

Clerys was the centre of shopping for many years in Dublin when a company called Natrium came in and closed its doors, making 460 people unemployed.

And now, the Irish Times has revealed the fate of the department store building.

According to the newspaper, the new development will keep its original architecture but will include high-end retail units, a boutique hotel, office spaces and entertainment and leisure facilities.

In a statement, the company said: “Natrium’s vision is also to re-establish O’Connell Street and its surrounding environs as a place of importance in the social and cultural life of citizens and visitors, where building will be a source of civic pride.

"Commerce created by the development will generate €329.1 million annually to the Irish economy."

Floral trends are appearing everywhere we look this summer, but we are definitely not complaining.

This trend is a given year-in-year-out, but this time it's back – and it's even bolder and brighter than ever.

From celebrities to high-street stores, the trend has spread across dresses, skirts, occasion wear and swim wear.

Floral separates have been our favourite part of this petalled trend and we love this one Beyonce was spotted wearing recently.

Beyonce has now inspired us to invest in a floral separate for summer and we think this short suit or skirt and jacket from ASOS, above right, might be the one for us.

But don't just take it from us, Clerys have announced that floral will take centre stage this weekend they will sponsor the fashion stage at Bloom.

Better still, the store will be hosting daily fashion shows from tomorrow, when the always-popular festival kicks off in the Phoenix Park.

Attendees are in for a real treat too: they can expect a bloom-inspired line-up featuring petals, prints and pops of bright colour from brands such as Warehouse, Oasis, Miss Selfridge, and Benetton.

Tomorrow's inaugural catwalk, aptly named In Bloom, will feature floral separates, summery accessories, and colour-pop heels while also incorporating festival season with some seriously stylish wellies.

Nautical is set to be a serious trend this summer and will also make an appearance during the fashion shows over the weekend with stripes, blazers, and espadrille wedge shoes. Meanwhile, the store's closing Beautiful Brocade show on Sunday will include some amazing dresses and decadent accessories.

The Bord Bia Bloom festival begins tomorrow and runs until Sunday with tickets available on their website and via Ticketmaster.

With summer on the way, what better time to make sure that you will be at your most comfortable than by having the right support.

And thanks to Clerys special campaign Love your Lingerie, this is possible.

The department store is organising  a special free underwear fitting by underwear specialist and celebrity stylist, Maureen O’Halloran, on Thursday 22nd May.

Maureen O’Halloran is one of Ireland’s top lingerie and bra fitters and has worked as an international fashion stylist for almost 30 years. Maureen specialises in breast care and advises clients on the importance of getting fitted for the correct bra size and wearing the right type of bra for different outfits.

It could be well worth the visit, as it has been revealed that 85% of women are currently wearing the incorrect underwear.

Maureen will be on hand to talk about most of the problems we often have with ill-fitting underwear types from 11am to 8pm in the lingerie department, 1st floor, Clerys.

This event is a part of Clerys’ special Love Your Lingerie campaign which is currently running from the 12thof May to the 27th.

Clerys customers will be able to avail of bra fittings, as well as 20% off their favourite brands including DKNY, Calvin Klein, Wonderbra and Esprit.
