There are a few things we associate with Christmas every year – our first selection box, a treat-filled advent calendar and of course, the annual tub of Cadbury Roses.

Anyone with a sweet tooth knows that the festive season and chocolate go hand in hand, and with that in mind Cadbury has some VERY special treats in store this year.

The Cadbury Christmas #Cadvent kicked off at the start of this week, with the chocolate giant sending its signature purple trucks all over the country to spread the festive joy.

Between now and December 23, the trucks will visit a different location each day. As well as free chocolate (!) there wil be tonnes of surprise events scheduled – everything from Christmas tree deliveries and pop-up concerts to giant cracker pulls.

Follow Cadbury on Facebook and Twitter for updates.

The man with the bag is more traditionally clad in brightest red – with a big white beard to boot.

Indeed, Mr Claus is furthermore ordinarily considered to be a native of the North Pole, rather than Co Mayo.

But nevertheless, and wearing a delicious shade of Cadbury purple, Louis Walsh certainly makes for a rather fetching Father Christmas.

The music manager, who of course earlier this year starred in another Cadbury's advert that got everyone talking, is now back for the festive season – appearing during last night during the X Factor ad break in his hottest Yuletide attire.

And speaking frankly, we reckon his future as Santa is now pretty much secured.

Ho, ho, ho!

Louis Walsh as Purple Santa = EPIC gifts 🙂 #FreetheJoy #Cadvent

The Milk Tray Man is retiring… but he's on the search for a replacement.

If you know a man who likes jumping out of moving trains, who enjoys gift-giving and who looks good in a black polo neck, this could be the job for him.

The chocolate-bearing hero was last seen on our screens in 2002, and he was known for going to daring extremes all for the sake of his lady love's happiness.

But the revamped Milk Tray man won't just be asked to act like the next James Bond – he'll need to be courteous and sweet to boot.

"The key point is the new Milk Tray man won’t be chosen just for his derring-do, diving off cliffs into shark-infested waters," explains Cadbury spokesman Tony Bilsborough.

"It will be as much about traits such as thoughtfulness."

The perfect boyfriend, really.

In a new ad, set to debut on ITV tonight, former Milk Tray Man James Coombes bids us farewell before jumping out the window (standard), leaving the office free for his descendant.

Know someone who's interested?

As long as they are over 18, they can apply or nominate someone else on the New Milk Tray Man website here before the end of November 2015.

If you've ever felt like there just wasn't enough variety in your chocolate-eating routine, then your prayers have been answered.

Chocolate giant Cadbury have created what has to be the most exciting bar of all time, the Spectacular 7.

Combining seven of Cadbury's most popular flavours – Whole Nut, Caramel, Fruit & Nut, Oreo, Turkish Delight, Daim Bar and the original Dairy Milk – the bar is sure to please even the pickiest of chocolate eaters.

Cadbury are calling the Spectacular 7 a "super sharing bar" but we'd rather keep it for ourselves, thanks very much.

Don't rush out to the shops just yet though, as it turns out the Spectacular 7 is being given an extremely limited release. Cadbury have only produced 50 of the bars, all of which will be given away via a Twitter promotion in the UK.

In the meantime, we're off to buy seven individual Cadbury bars to enjoy instead…
