Electric Picnic 2015 has sold out.

That's right, it has sold out with three months still to go before the festival.

Speedy fans have snapped up approximately 35,000 tickets for the music and arts festival that takes place in Stradbally, this September.

Headlining the show this year is Blur, Florence and the Machine, Sam Smith, and The War on Drugs, with loads more performances.

It certainly seems as if the recession is turning into somewhat of a distant memory, as it was only two years ago that Electric Picnic sold out for the first time since the financial crisis hit.

While the weekend, Sunday day, campervans, family weekend, and family campervan tickets are all sold out, there are a limited number of VIP tickets still available through Pink Moon camping.

With a stellar line up and a sold out crowd, Electric Picnic 2015 is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

Excitement is now seriously building for Electric Picnic 2015 as more acts are added to the bill. The music festival will take place from September 4-6 in Stradbally, Co. Laois, and in the absence of Oxegen, is the major music festival of the year.

Blur will headline one of the three days as they mark the release of their first album in 16 years, The Magic Whip. Since their arrival in 1991 they have had five No.1 albums in their native UK, so their Electric Picnic debut is certainly highly-anticipated.

Already confirmed to-date include Sam Smith, The Riptide Movement, FKA Twigs, and Gavin James. And several music acts, including Canadian band Viet Cong and Danish Zambian singer Kwamie Liv, are making their Irish debut at the festival.

The festival is often described as "Ireland's version of Glastonbury" and was voted Best Medium-Sized European Festival at the 2010 European Festival Awards, and the Best Big Festival at the last four Irish Festival Awards since 2007. Last year 41,000 people attended from 29-31 August.

Tickets are on sale now from €229.50 from www.ticketmaster.ie and Sunday tickets are €90.

Unless you’ve been hiding under the duvets all week, you’ll have heard of the new phenomenon that is shouting PARKLIFE! at Russell Brand.

As a spoof of Phil Daniel’s character in the video for Blur’s Parklife, Russell is now the butt-end of a LOT of jokes.

Here's Blur's original song:

Now, there’s a video and it is exactly what we’ve been waiting for.

All together now: PARKLIFE!

James Blunt has accused Blur front man Damon Albarn of covering up his well-to-do background.

The You’re Beautiful singer, who was privately educated at the exclusive Harrow School in north west London, thinks Damon shouldn’t cover up his posh roots.

James said, “I was just the only one who didn’t hide my accent. I mean, come on, Damon Albarn, he’s right up there. He’s got an orchard full of plums in his mouth and a silver spoon stuck up his a**e.”

Damon, a son of an academic, has been criticised in the past for being ‘too posh for pop.’

James added, “Britain is so obsessed with class. It really needs to let go, because no one else gives a sh*t.”

Damon is set to release his first solo album Everyday Robots on April 28th.
