Autumn’s here! Maybe it’s just us, but we get a sneaky thrill when the colder weather hits. It’s time for winter coats, woolly scarves, tights and boots, people!

It’s not just about the basic pieces though – there were some really exciting accessories on the autumn/winter catwalks too.

If, like us, you’re constantly losing one earring only to be left with his lonesome other half, you’ll be pleased to know that solo earrings were all over the catwalks this season! Céline had some gorgeous examples, and Emma Watson jumped on board straight away too…

Leopard print
Leopard print will always have its place in the fashion world but it’s really having a moment right now. If you’re not quite ready for a full-on printed skirt or coat, leopard is a perfect option for accessories – we’re loving Ashley Olsen’s slouchy scarf:

Rucksacks and backpacks
Once you swap your handbag for a backpack, we promise you, life will never be the same. It’s a revelation! We’re so glad that the trend for more practical bags has caught on – this Alexander Wang version is gorgeous, and Emmy Rossum is giving us SERIOUS backpack envy with her turquoise one:

Structured box bags
If you’re looking for something a little more formal than the humble backpack, go all clean-cut with a box bag. These were all over the Louis Vuitton catwalks, and Alexa Chung made a cool twist on the trend with her picnic-basket style purse. Want!

Chunky heels
Think Sixties revival and you’ve got the right idea with shoe trends for autumn. Chunky stack heels were everywhere – we’re strangely smitten with these leather Thakoon boots. Eva Mendes went for a more relaxed look with these low-heeled sandals:
