Best Irish gin? Dingle Original Gin is now wearing the official crown

Last Thursday was a major night for the drinks industry in this country, with Jameson Distillery on Dublin's Bow Lane playing host to The Irish Whiskey Awards.

And it was an even bigger night for The Dingle Distillery who walked away with not one, but two incredible accolades.

Scooping the ‘Best Irish Gin’ award for Dingle Original Gin and the ‘Best Irish Vodka’ award for Dingle Distillery Vodka, it was a major moment for Elliot Hughes of The Dingle Distillery who accepted the esteemed accolades on the night.

So, what is it about these products that sets them apart?

Well, Dingle Original Gin is a London dry gin but with a unique character and flavour from the choice of botanicals delivering a fabulously fresh, floral character that perfectly balances the traditional juniper.

And as for the vodka?  Dingle Distillery Vodka is distilled five times for incredible purity with just a touch of sweetness and a creamy texture, and according to those in the know, it is exceptionally good drunk neat.

Commenting on the win, a clearly delighted Elliot Hughes said: “These awards are a resounding endorsement of the incredible creativity and excellence of our distilling team in Dingle."

“Our long-term goal was to create a world class whiskey, but we’re more than happy to add world class gin and vodka to our family of spirits!”

Launched in 2013, the The Irish Whiskey Awards have gone on to become one of the biggest celebrations of Irish whiskey in the world.
