‘Report the truth’: Cheryl SLAMS media reaction to One Show slot
All eyes were on The One Show last night, with rumours abound that Cheryl was set to confirm her alleged pregnancy during an interview. While there was no mention of Baby, however, Cheryl has been forced to address negative reports today.
The former X Factor star has hit out at media outlets reporting that she ‘turned the air blue’ with expletives during a slot discussing her new role as a Childline ambassador.
During the segment, Cheryl touched on her own experience with depression as a teen, and how her attitude towards nastiness and negativity has changed over the years.
“You become you – you’re comfortable in [your] own skin. And you think, just go away. I honestly couldn’t give a….” she said, trailing off.
It wasn’t long before a number of media outlets accused the ex-Girls Aloud star of cursing live on air – a claim which she was quick to deny.
Posting a clip of the interview to her Instagram account, the 33-year-old wrote: “‘Cheryl turns the air blue when she mouths the F-BOMB’ – someone tell me when? That word wasn’t even in my mind!!!”
“Dear media, please don’t turn my important Childline interview into your negative Nancy clickbait! Try reporting the truth. You might help young lives,” she added.
Cheryl needn’t have worried too much – the response to her appearance on the BBC show garnered an overwhelmingly positive response.
