We round up what’s hot, and what’s most certainly not in the box office this week from newcomers like Fury and The Book of Life to how well films like Gone Girl and The Judge are doing. In a nod to Halloween we’ve picked a spooktacular movie that’s more fun than scare the bejaysus out of you! (We cater for all here…not that our host is a big scaredy cat). We’ve also chosen a thrilling movie to be released this Friday to bookmark in your diaries.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle poster sparks 9/11 outrage

When Paramount Pictures Australia tweeted the official poster for their upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle flick, along with the announcement that it would be in cinemas September 11^th, it sparked quite a bit of outrage.

The poster shows the turtles jumping from a high rise building as it explodes, so it’s easy to see why this could upset some people.

One Twitter user replied: “So who's getting fired for this poster art? September 11? Exploding buildings? People falling out of them? Le sigh”

Another simply asked: “Really 9/11? Jumping out of an exploding building?”

This was definitely a strange thing for Paramount to do – surely they noticed the resemblance before posting the tweet? Could it be a plan to get more attention for the film? After all, all publicity is good publicity.
