Lobster, mmm. We’re excited.

The successful restaurant, Rock Lobster, has left its Donnybrook location and is looking for pastures new in the capital’s city centre.

Rock Lobster in Dundrum Town Centre’s Harvey Nichols has experienced great success since its opening in December, which we were very excited about.

Speaking about the move, owner Niall Sabongi says; “We’re very excited about what’s ahead … we know what our customers love, and the success of our association with Harvey Nichols had just reinforced the importance of having the best possible location. Donnybrook has been good to us, but the city is where we want to be now”.

Can’t wait to have this great restaurant on our doorsteps!

Located on Dawson street is the recently opened FAAT BAAT, Dublin’s most unique Pan Asian restaurant.

Bringing the vibrancy and buzz of a New York basement style restaurant to the City Centre, FAAT BAAT can be described as a casual dining, cocktail drinking, late-night music restaurant.

FAAT BAAT is derived from the Chinese word for prosperity (FAAT) & 8 (BAAT), the lucky number of the Chinese. Taking inspiration from downtown Manhattan’s best Asian restaurants, FAAT BAAT is bursting with personality, charm and positive energy. The interiors have been infused with bright and inviting colours chosen to fit perfectly with their Pan-Asian theme.

Embracing the Asian tradition of sharing and eating ‘family style’, FAAT BAAT’s menu is inspired by Western influences assorted with Eastern flavors, taking the very best from different cultures.

Their menu has choices to please everyone, from firm Asian favourites, such as Dim Sum, to their signature BAAT Wings and even a whole slow-roasted pork shoulder sharing dish. It’s also worth noting that no MSGs are used in the preparation of dishes and Irish produce is chosen wherever possible.

Open until 2am every Friday and Saturday, the GOGO Bar is the perfect place to chill out and catch up with friends. Their resident team of BAATtenders have created a unique cocktail list full of twists and surprises, including Ginger Mojito and Lychee Martini, while also offering classic favourites such as Whiskey Sours.

Harvey Nichols diners can enjoy Rock Lobster in Dundrum from next month as the Donnybrook restaurant continues its mission to ‘slap the posh out of eating  lobster’.

The 100-seater restaurant and cocktail bar in Harvey Nichols will undergo a major refurbishment. The result should be a fun atmosphere that compliments Rock Lobster’s ‘Cocktails, Fish & Steakhouse’ signature style, making it a fitting addition to this popular fashion destination.

‘Rock Lobster at Harvey Nichols’ will offer the sustainable seafood, lobsters and prime dry aged beef at a reasonable price, served in a relaxed style. Its owner, Niall Sabongi, deals with small, independent fishermen, co-ops and farmers on a daily basis to source the finest fresh seafood and beef.

As it attempts to introduce lobster to the regular folk of Dublin, ‘Rock Lobster at Harvey Nichols’ will offer a Split Lobster or Lobster Roll, served with fries and salad for just €20.00.

Open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week, the ‘Rock Lobster at Harvey Nichols’ vibe will continue into the cocktail bar with live music from Thursday to Saturday.

Reservations are being accepted now by emailing Dundrum@RockLobster.ie or calling 01 2910410. See www.RockLobster.ie for sample menus.

For the second time in 2013, the company will open a new café-deli, this time on St Stephen’s Green.

The new addition follows the opening of another KC Peaches on Dame St in August – a café by day and dinner-and-drinks spot by night.

In 2011 KC Peaches opened its flagship café on Nassau Street, along with its unique wine bar concept in the basement, KC Peaches Wine Cave.

The company’s ‘West Coast self-service healthy foods format’ has proven popular in Dublin and fans of KC Peaches will be happy to hear a cookbook is also in the works.
